    Gorditas poblanas...wow!
    Dakine B.

What a super amazing place. Just west of downtown Flag you step into a world of absolute deliciousness. Breakfast all day and a great lunch menu. Friendly service and food that is crafted with love and care. A simple little restaurant with outstanding food and drink. Easy parking is a huge bonus!

Super tasty and authentic, this is coming from a Hispanic and I don't typically eat at Mexican restaurants because I've had homemade authentic food. We got our food super fast. I liked that we can just order at the counter and sit wherever.

Very limited seating, this place gets very busy so good luck finding an open table. Other than that the food was delicious. The waffle with fruit was fresh and fluffy, the poblano egg Gorditas were also very tasty! I'd come back again when in town :)

I ordered the Meat Lovers Burrito but changed it to beans instead of potatoes. You know it's good when you say Wow! after the first bite. This was one of the best burritos I've had in a long time! The homemade tortillas and spicy sauce were incredible!! Cafe Americano coffee was very good too.

    This is the "food"

Worst chorizo chilaquiles I have ever had the misfortune to run across. Served with a bland red sauce and over cooked chorizo smothering ice cold tortilla chips. Made the whole dish cold and unappealing. I couldn't choke down more that a couple of bites.

On my recent trip to Flagstaff I was looking for a coffee spot when I landed on this place. It's located in the Safeway shopping center. I had a latte with oat milk and the chorizo chilaquiles. Both solid tasty choices. I hear the waffles are a must try, maybe on my next trip. They have breakfast burritos, skillets, bagels, gorditas, waffles, vegetarian options and hot & cold coffee drinks. Their online menu shows you which options are spicy , but definitely ask if you'd prefer no heat. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Service was fast.

My partner ordered the skillet poblano with 1 extra egg. Also, not fried eggs but scrambled eggs and they customized it. They kindly took the order on phone, so it was quick for us. The taste was good but we felt the quantity was a little less(could have been better) for $16.12 with taxes (I see $12 on the menu). As in, beans was less in quantity and had a watery gravy. The dish could have more veggies in it. There is plenty of seating available, the restaurant is clean and the there two clean restrooms. There are two tables outside in the shade as well. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Authentic and inspired! Great flavor. Get anything with a waffle or chorizo in it - you won't be disappointed! Service is fast and efficient and the order at the counter process keeps the meal affordable. I will be back!

A delicious locally owned spot to check out! We stopped by on a recent weekend trip to Flagstaff and the food was amazing. The wait times for the food were short, the restaurant felt welcoming and was clean, plus they feature art work on local artists on their walls. Pricing wasn't bad, you can spend a similar amount at a fast food place and the food portions are just the right size. Several of us ordered the Birria tacos, and man were they good! I like that they came with different sauces to dip them into and also came with some cut up onions if you want to add them. The breakfast bagel & breakfast burrito were also a big hit. A family member had also ordered the farm skillet which was bigger than expected. I'd stop by this spot again when in the area!

Great costumer service and amazing food! 10/10! Just off Route 66. You won't be disappointed.

This spot has become a must-visit every time we're in Flagstaff. They have the most incredible birria. It is seriously SO good. Their birria is tender and perfectly seasoned, melting in your mouth with every bite. The quesadillas are packed with gooey, melty cheese that makes for the ultimate comfort food experience. And the consommé? Bomb. So rich and flavorful. Hands down, this is the best birria in Northern Arizona. Their food, from breakfast to lunch, is mouth-watering, a little messy, and completely unforgettable. The owner is also so kind and all the staff is friendly.

    Waffle - plain for me.

I am here again. I'm a snob when it comes to pancakes and waffles. When I tell you this waffle was the best I ever had in my life, I'm not kidding. Light and crispy. It's served many different ways but I don't like my pancakes or waffles to come with a prom dress. I like it plain - extra butter and syrup only. Oh, and I got the large beans to go. I can't stop eating them. I'm a creature of some habits especially when it comes to food. When I find an amazing dish I crave it all the time.

Check out this hand made iced mocha! Sooo rich!

Food, atmosphere and the friendliness keep bringing us back to Madrez! I am hooked on their chorizo chilaquiles! The sauce is amazing. The portion is incredible! I would have licked the plate if there wasn't a crowd watching! My wife always goes for their waffle! Light, crisp, oh so good! We splurged on two iced mochas. You have to have one of these hand made creations! We enjoy chatting with the owners and seeing their pride in making such incredible food!

**July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. The pastries were also excellent--flaky, buttery, and everything you'd hope for--but for me, that scrambled egg plate is the standout and something I would come back for again and again.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

My mom had the chimichanga with green chili and she loved it! She said the meat was not dry and the green chili was delicious. Our fave were the chips and salsa! We loved the salsa so much, we bought a pint to take with us on our trip. As for the restaurant, the atmosphere was very upbeat, colorful, and full of culture. For the kids I especially appreciated the extensive mix and match ala carte options. It is absolutely one of those nostalgic vegan cafes like I frequented in college I won't say how many years ago - whole foods from scratch cooking, a little under salted (they have salt on the table if you prefer restaurant level salting), great use of spices for flavor, nothing trendy just wholesome reliably good food. We had the tamales (both lunch and breakfast plates), classic French toast, fruit cup, sausages, steamed greens, cheesecake, peanut butter chip cookie, and brownie. Loved it all, the scrambled tofu was a surprise hit with the whole crew, pinto beans are cooked from dried with a great creamy consistency, the warm spice in the French toast made it appealing to the grown ups without being "too spicy" for the kids. Home fries were another surprise hit with crispy exterior and fluffy interior on each piece. Desserts were very good - the blueberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were the favorites. The tamales were very good but on the smaller side, if you're here for the tamales definitely opt into the small upcharge for a second tamale.
