This review is for the banquet area of Maggiano's. We went to a celebration of life in the banquet area in December. The room set up was lovely. The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. We were served family style - apps, salad, mains and the most amazing dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was great, the sever was attentive. Very helpful in regard to making decisions for apps, drinks and dinner. It's was busy with lots of graduation parties. That didn't affect service or wait on food. It's a comfortable environment. Definitely recommend the whipped ricotta. Great flavors. This app is serve cold. I've been to many other Maggianos but this is my first time in this location. Decor is similar to the others. We got a bunch of appetizers, fried zucchini, stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, calamari. My fav appetizer by far is the fried zucchini...so yummy. I got the baked ziti but I tried a little of my sisters shrimp carbonara. Both were very good but I got full on the appetizers and bread. Good service. Prices were as expected. read more

For a large party of fourteen, Maggiano's Little Italy Oak Brook provided great service and good food for an elevated price during early dinner hours on a March Tuesday in the Midwest. Maggiano's was always a place I considered when needing a place to have a team dinner or host out of town guests for work. Their family style menu is great, and have always enjoyed their Prince Edward Island Steamed Mussels. So some years ago, we treated my wife's mom on her birthday for that same menu. She really enjoyed it, and used those memories to suggest hosting a remembrance for her husband with close relatives at the same place. It made sense to schedule it earlier (around 3:30), which provided ample parking and our choice of window seating (one long table). Also the location in Oak Brook was more convenient than the one we had gone before in Schaumburg. I noted that when I walked in, the inside space is huge, with many separated rooms for private functions. For our party, we were seated in the main dining room with a window view. For a variety of reasons, we decided to ask everyone to order a la carte. Most are not big wine drinkers, so one bottle of Banfi Chianti Superior ($48 chosen well by brother-in-law) went a long way and it was excellent. Water was provided and kept refilled for most, with refillable soda ($4.99) for some. A kids menu provides simple options, with noodles and butter ($7.99) being a popular choice. I wanted to try something I hadn't had before, so went with the Chicken Francese ($27.50) and it was excellent. It had two chicken cutlets, lightly battered, in a really good lemony white wine sauce. It came with delicious Vesuvio Potatoes (potato wedges) that needed no dipping sauce. The grilled asparagus was really well done: thin, grilled the right amount for a perfect bite. I also had a chance to sample the Shrimp Scampi ($28.99), which I thought was very good. It had a decent amount of jumbo tail-on shrimp, and the al-dente spaghetti noodles had been sauted with the shrimp and lemon to produce really well melded bite. I'm learning that lemon works really well in Italian dishes. I did overhear the other dishes weren't as well received, but nobody seemed to be hungry afterwards and there was leftovers to bring back home. Service was attentive the whole way through, and they did not automatically add the expected gratuity. All in all, it turned out pretty well, and hope that it produced good memories for Mom. read more

We arrived on a very chilly day, New Year's Day to enjoy our gift card that was given for the holidays. We were seated in a requested booth given a great garlic made oven fresh bread and we ordered our two favorite glasses of wine. and then we ordered.........my wife had the Chicken Parmesan with mostaccioli and I order the Beef Tenderloin Medallions. When I ordered my BTM, I requested it to be medium-rare....but when it was delivered it was rare-raw....I was wondering why I couldn't cut into it and didn't notice the color as it was covered in a gravy. I asked for it to go back and cooked to medium with some red inside just not raw. When it arrived it in my opinion wasn't much better. I brought home thinking I'd heat it up in the oven to match my prefer taste and that's when I noticed that they didn't service me Beef Tenderloin but some other meat style. This was one of my favorite restaurants that I don't get to very often. The mushroom ravioli has changed dramatically from what it used to be. It is now floating in mushroom soup looking stuff. Also, the Alfredo was watery. Bread has been changed to a sweet bread roll. There is no salad served with your meal. Just a couple dishes of marginal pasta, two soft drinks and two martinis for $100! Not worth it at all. Would've been better off with soup, salad and breadsticks at OG- their Alfredo is better also! Not going back. read more

No more cherry tomatoes with the bed of lettuce. The salmon was a small piece on what looked like 3 strands of spinach for the price I could of bought n will buy a whole salmon. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to write this review. We had a reservation, were seated timely and greeted in a timely matter- considering it was prime dinner on a Saturday, we'll take it! We were sat in the main dining room, it wasn't too loud, and the table lights are a nice touch! Service was good,, the bare minimum, albeit, but fine. Food- if you've been coming here long enough, this will make sense. This has been our tried and true. But after this past visit, we have already discussed finding a new family Italian place in the suburbs :( The bread is no longer the warm crusty loaf, it's a weird sweet yeast roll served with butter. Tasted like a brown and serve frozen Jewel dinner roll. Good if that's your thing, just not ours. Mozzarella sticks have changed and they're not even what's pictured in the online order menu anymore. They are fluffy, the breading is still great but the cheese tasted almost like a melted cheese sauce than a stringy pulley mozza stick. There was no sauce on them and what they did give on the side was comparable to a soup spoon scoop of sauce. Pasta was lack luster and the definite last straw. There was little to no sauce and what was there was very very watered down. so the pasta was crunchy and dried out around the edges but sticking to the plate from the watery underside and we were scraping the plate to get a little Alfredo- not a good look. And the pasta was lukewarm at best. The shrimp was so dry and overcooked it was giving beef patty, and the potatoes tasted like cardboard. We usually stay for after dinner drinks, dessert and more but this time we were in and out, boxed up and closed out before the people next to us got their entrees. What a great experience! It's been a while since we've been here, but we're so glad we came back. Tom our server was outstanding. The stuff from mushrooms were a great start and my wife ordered the four cheese ravioli with meat sauce, instead of the pesto sauce and she absolutely loved it. I had the spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce and my goodness it was so tasty and the portion was so big. The chocolate cake was delicious and a great way to end the evening. This was our second time here. The first time was just ok. The seating was uncomfortable because we were sitting at a high top table and I'm only 5 feet. The food was good... Tonight was our second time here. We were a party of five...me, my husband, my 2 sis n laws, and their cousin. Keeping that in mind, why would they seat us next to the stairs? We had to move the table because the back of my husband's chair was too close to the stairs. If he moved back in his chair just slightly, he could've easily fell. I did not like the seating arrangements and the restaurant was cold. Anyone knows me knows that I hate being cold while I'm eating. The ambiance was ok, but they could've given us better seats. For the drink, my husband ordered The Blackberry Bourbon Sour. His drink was delicious. Too bad I can't drink too much alcohol. Just a few sips at the most. I kept it simple with just water. I wanted to try something different besides steak and shrimp. I ordered the Branzino Crab Imperial. It was baked fish with a crab cake topping with asparagus and mashed potatoes. My husband got the Blackened Salmon with crispy Calabrian Shrimp. The food was very good. A solid 4 stars. 4 stars because they could've gave us more food for the price we paid. And the seating situation of course! Before leaving every restaurant, my husband and I always ask each other the million dollar question: "WOULD YOU COME BACK AGAIN?" We both said: "YES". I recently went to maggiano's for a birthday dinner for a small group of six. I ordered the rigatoni D after the waitress recommended the dish. The pasta was cooked very well, it had a good flavor, the portions were large, but the sauce was a little runny, like soup consistency. I also order a side of asparagus, that was okay, I don't think it was worth 9 bucks. The asparagus just had a grilled flavor, nothing to it, thought it would have a cool seasoning. The mom's lasagna was really good to me. I love the creaminess of the ricotta, very well done. My friend ordered the eggplant parm, fried extra crispy. She really enjoyed her dish. For my friend's birthday they brought out a lit strawberry with a handful of short bread cookies surrounding it. We all sang happy birthday. We were all so stuffed to order any deserts. We ended up packing up leftovers. I would have given a higher rating but my silver wear was dirty, I had to ask for a new set. Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to Maggiano's Little Italy on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Oak Brook location for my bestie's graduation dinner. Food: The food was absolutely amazing! We had a wide spread of different kinds of food. I think my bestie's mom paid $40 per person and there was a total of 17 of us. We had garlic bread with Parmesan cheese, meatballs, two kinds of salad (Caesar salad & Maggiano's house salad), lasagna, salmon, chicken Marsala, baked/fried eggplant, and even a dessert platter (cheesecake, tiramisu, crescent shaped lemon cookies, etc.). Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. You know it's fancy when it's dim lighting, candlelit, and they're playing Frank Sinatra. Customer Service: I really enjoyed the customer service. The waiters were all tentative. I didn't even need to ask them to refill my water and would automatically refill it. The waiters we had checked in with us from time to time to see if we were enjoying the food. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great experience with my first visit. The food, atmosphere, & service was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this place for events like birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, etc. I definitely want to come back here for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. We attended a party at Maggiano's in Oak Brook. There were about 50+ people and we were in a nice party room. The staff was so nice, attentive and quick. The service was top notch! The food was so delicious and the serving sizes were big. We had calamari, bruschetta, chopped salad, fettucine, beef, lasagna, tiramisu and apple crostada. I would have my next event here. We had salmon , fettuccine Alfredo, calamari, chicken, salad, tiramisu and apple crostada. The portions were large. The service was the best. The staff was very nice, attendant and responsive . Just to be on the safe side we made reservations to assure we didn't have a long wait for a table because they are always so busy. We were greeted with smiles and pleasant hospitality. Not long after being seated our waiter came over and explained the beverage to point out some of their specialty beverages. The only thing was the White Italian Sangria ...all of the flavor/sweet was at the bottom of the glass should have been stirred better. While he was away getting our beverages we had some time to decide on our meals (something different than previous visits) As expected the ambiance was great, beverages and food delicious. We usually come to this location and the food, service and atmosphere was always good. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms, one of my favorite appetizers and this time it was salty. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was old and dry with tomato sauce on top. I tried a couple of slices, but could not eat it. It tasted nasty! My daughter ordered stuffed shells. The shells was old and hard. Our waitress Tina was not friendly or attentive. She took up our knives after the appetizers. She brought our entree to the the table and left. We were sitting there waiting for Tina to return to ask for knives to eat. She did not check back to see if we need anything. We had to ask another waitress to bring knives to the table. This is a fine dining restaurant, how could anyone forget to bring eating utensils? Later, Tina returned with two carryout containers. She did not ask if everything was okay? She seem ti know the answer to that question. She did not ask if we wanted dessert? She just brought the check to the table. Her tip was based on her service. I usually give 20-25% tip for good service, food and atmosphere. This Fine dining Resturant use to have quality food and good service. My family & a group of my daughter's friends ate lunch in celebration of my daughter's birthday. The staff was very friendly and engaging making our time there pleasant and carefree. We started with calamari appetizers which were pleasantly good portions, crispy and hot. Despite a large group, the food was also served fairly quickly, still hot, and rich with flavor. I ordered the Famous Rigatoni "D". The sauce was a bit watery, but the flavors were strong with the chicken, mushrooms, and cheese blending well. Today we went out to celebrate my friends birthday, it took like 30 minutes just to get our drinks, at that we didn't even get served water on the meantime. We booked our recent reservation for an Easter family gathering and we were heavily disappointed. We will not return to this location. Our waitress was fantastic. She was very attentive and had great interaction with customers. However, the food was horrible. My husband ordered a lasagna as usual and we were notified about the change in the recipe. He did finish his plate but he said he much preferred the previous recipe. My daughter and I ordered similar menu. I ordered a Fettucine Alfredo with grilled shrimp and my daughter ordered a plain fettucine alfredo. The sauce was ridiculously watery, which resulted in zero taste in the pasta. While I ordered a grilled shrimp with my plate, I was given grilled chicken. I had notified the gentleman who delivered my food and he said he will bring out the grilled shrimp right away. I never saw the grilled shrimp nor him. Our pasta was so blend that we had about 3 bites and decided to box them up and take it home so I can recook the sauce/pasta so it wouldn't go to waste. We were heavily disappointed. One good thing was my son's plate, which he ordered mozzarella sticks(?) and also ordered a cream brulee for dessert. We will not be returning this location and have already decided to go to a different Italian place located in the city for our next year's Easter gathering. read more

Visited for a corporate dinner Bruschetta was chunky cut bread soaked with vinaigrette and topped with cheese and tomatoes. Stuffed mushrooms and fried calamari were fine. I would order any of these for a group setting but nothing that I would come back for. Caesar salad and bread were fine. I was impressed that the basket came out warm since my salmon entree was definitely cold. Sides of broccoli, mashed potatoes, and mac n cheese. New york style cheesecake was very light. There were also the lemon cookies. Nothing to write home about. Great service for a group setting. We got the better of two servers in the Barbosa room. Maybe each had four tables of 10? The other was taking food orders during the presentation and the speaker even paused to offer a moment for them. The great thing about Oak Brook mall is that each venue has its own address; GPS identifies them individually and leads you to the right place. Parking is vast. read more

The crab cakes in lobster sauce are a gourmet delight, featuring tender, perfectly seasoned crab meat, lightly breaded and fried to a golden crisp.
