We recently had one of the best dining experiences here, thanks in large part to our amazing waitress. She was incredibly pleasant, attentive, and genuinely sweet, making our meal even more enjoyable. We chose the family-style option, which is all-you-can-eat. Once you've selected your initial dishes, you can order more of any of those items throughout the meal. The family-style meal also includes both the Maggiano's Salad and Caesar Salad. I'm partial to the Maggiano's Salad--it's always a favorite. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari and the meatballs, and both were excellent. Our entrée selections were the Four-Cheese Ravioli, Chicken Parmigiana, Beef Tenderloin Medallions, and Shrimp Fra Diavolo. While the Four-Cheese Ravioli was our least favorite, the Beef Tenderloin Medallions were the clear winner of the table. For dessert, the family-style meal included all three options: chocolate cake, cheesecake, and butter cake. The unanimous favorite was the butter cake--it was absolutely delicious! We sat in the bar and the bar tender was so lost. It's like he had no idea what to do. We had to flag him down multiple times The food is so gross. I remember I used to like the food. But the chicken parm was soggy. I feel like they do rigatoni to take up more space on the plate. Also $27 for chicken parm at lunch? We absolutely love Maggiano's. I've been coming here with my family for years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently amazing, but what truly makes this location special is the people. Douglas behind the bar is an absolute standout. He remembers my order, is incredibly attentive, and somehow manages to multitask flawlessly while handling the entire bar area. Watching him work is impressive -- calm, friendly, and genuinely great at what he does. Wednesdays are especially fun with game night -- from the Girl Scout cookie samples paired with a wine tour to the games you can play with friends, it makes for such a fun, relaxed night out. Add in the happy hour, and honestly, I think I'll be here every Wednesday now. The food, as always, was outstanding. We had the beef medallions, which were cooked perfectly -- the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the crispy onions on top were the perfect touch. The Maggiano's salad was amazing, and both the calamari and fried zucchini appetizers were fantastic. I love that these are available on the happy hour menu in smaller portions, so you can try them without committing to the full entrée -- such a great option. And a huge shout-out to manager Kesh, who is truly incredible. Carry-out was very disappointing. The portion was shockingly small. We had an unexpected guest and wanted enough for three. The spaghetti sauce was packaged in two small cups and t sauce was tasteless. We ordered meat sauce w meatballs. They gave us tasteless tomato sauce. Luckily I had a jar of sauce to add. When we dined there a few months ago, we couldn't get over how delicious the food was. I guess pick up and Carryout is not on their list of importance. The rolls they threw in were nothing special. This was a mediocre experience from beginning to end. From the time I walked in, I waited around 5 minutes at the host stand before a waiter came by to tell me to sit wherever I wanted. The place is huge, and would be great for large parties or celebrations. Based on how long it took me to receive a menu and water, I ordered right away. I ordered the wagyu beef stuffed shells and the apple crostada for dessert. The food came out fairly quickly, and it was just okay, not great. The waiter never came by one time to refill my water. The apple crostada was extremely good! I have no desire to ever come here again, but if I do, this will be the only thing I ordered off of the menu. We were seated right away for our noon reservation since it was quiet. The calamari was light and perfectly fried, and the fresh Italian salad came chilled which was a nice touch. The chicken parmigiana with rigatoni was excellent, and the rigatoni with sausage was hearty and delicious. Warm bread, butter, and a glass of red wine completed the meal. OMG this place is huge on the inside! My friends and I met up here for one of our regular get togethers. I arrived and found a public parking space that was right under the restaurant. You take the elevator right up Maggiano's and they will even validate the parking. We met for lunch on Friday, so the place was fairly empty. The two of us were seated right away while we waited for our third party. The menu looked good and we got distracted by catching up and took a while to order our food. Let me say there was only one server and he was hustling. He did a really good job of paying attention to all of us. I suppose they didn't expect that much traffic at Friday during lunch. I'm going to cut right to my mushroom ravioli because it was Divine! There's something about a marsala sauce that makes you feel warmy and cozy inside! Or maybe that's just me. But it was so good. I've never had a mushroom ravioli topped with a marsala sauce. I'm going to have to try that myself. But if you like Marsala sauce you definitely have to try this dish. Both of my friends had the lunch special which consisted of the soup and salad and a sandwich. They both got the clam chowder soup which they said was really tasty. The sandwich looked really good too but both of them were so full. They both took that part home. I was sad to find they don't have draft beer. I'm a beer connoisseur and when I go out it's a treat to have draft beer. So I ordered the Bellini and it was really good surprisingly. They brought us some warm bread and oil which I always love and overindulge in. Aside from that, my friends order the sangria and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was good. So we had a date night and the best waiter named Kelly waited on us he was amazing and really on point. The food was delicious and can't say enough about my ribeye just absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. A very nice warm evening with a nice lighting and soft music. My family loves this place, and I definitely return for date night or birthday dinners. This past Saturday, my family was celebrating my brother's one-year engagement to his beautiful fiancée, my future sister-in-law, and Eid. Ty was the best waiter we could ever ask for. He constantly checked in to ensure we were happy with our meal or needed anything. At the end, we asked if he could take a picture, and he insisted on taking a photo later on and surprised my brother and his fiancée with a candlelit cheesecake and champagne glasses. The service was impeccable, not only was Ty excellent, and ensured you were taken care of. Other team members checked in on our table and routinely swept the dining hall to check on other guests. There were eight of us, so we did the family style, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts! My family loved the shrimp scampi, cheesecake, tiramisu, mozzarella, and fried zucchini. The Parmesan-crusted chicken was my favorite, but everything was so delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's very extravagant and romantic. This review is for their upstairs banquet rooms. I decided to host my company user meeting here and very happy with my decision. First of all the team here was fantastic. It was a pleasure working with them to ensure a smooth meeting. The meeting rooms all look the same with dark woods and you can rent a projector and screen. The ballroom space was perfect for our main general session. The WiFi was good and no one had problems connecting. Note: park at the Friendship Center in the garage. If not you will be going through the empty pavilion mall and have to walk outside around the corner. Metro is very convenient too. We did the all day meeting package which included continental breakfast (wish they varied this offering though- gets boring after the second day), lunch consisted of salad, pasta, and main entree, and dessert. No complaints about that. They also brought continuous drinks for am and pm breaks. We hosted a cocktail reception and really enjoyed ourselves. There is only one room with windows which is my one negative about the meeting rooms. Even the main downstairs too. Only one wall of windows by the entrance. Many of our customers stayed at the Embassy Suites next door. Highly recommend this place for banquet type events. On our last day, there was an afternoon/evening wedding reception here too. read more

I have eaten at this specific Maggiano's Little Italy, twice, maybe thrice. It is exactly as you would expect: Italian American cuisine, with big portions suited to "family style," boisterous. I would not hesitate to come here with a group, and the last time I was there it was for a work function that included maybe at a minimum two dozen guests. I would not go here with my wife for a quiet night. I am pretty sure I have been to the Chicago original, way back in the day. I lived in that city two summers. I was surprised that almost all the restaurants I went to were owned by a single company; they spanned all cuisines and price points. I am not sure if Maggiano's is national, but I know they have dozens, and I've been to a few others. They have taken the concept and copied it again and again and again. But this Chevy Chase location was absolutely dead on a Friday night. As such, there were only 2-3 active servers for the whole place-- one for the far side of the dining room and one for our side. As such, it took a full 25 - 30 min from when we sat down for our server to come see us. Thankfully he brought bread with him and immediately took our order. Also-- The promotion they used to have that let you go home with a free classic pasta after ordering one in-- was discontinued as of August last year . It's true that the deal was too good to be true, but still. Sad day. I'll still come back though. This place was amazing! From the moment we walked in. We were greeted answered seated! I had a smoked old fashion and it was great with Knob Creek Rye. One of the best I've had and I am from KY. My husband had lasagna and I had Parmesan crusted chicken with fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was good or better than expected. We had excellent calamari that seemed flash fried. Something we have not found in years. Tiramisu was ordered to go because we were stuffed. It looks delicious! The ambiance was nice. It's a nostalgic Italian big city restaurant. This post is about the DC location ( Chevy Chase/ Mazza Gallery) As usual, large crowd.. nine diners. We opted for the family style. For a little under $500, (tip NOT included) we had a feast. My best friend since 7th grade's birthday and worthy of every single penny. Chris, our server was awesome and everyone enjoyed our Maggiano and Caesar salads, stuffed mushrooms, chicken Parmesan, shrimp scampi, spaghetti and meatballs and the Parmesan crusted cod! Never been to a Maggiano's before and we had a great experience. Was in the neighborhood and came in for a late dinner. This location seemed very big. We entered from the street side and the front is a large bar area and the host stand was past it. We got seated right away in a nice booth. Our server was very friendly and helpful, she made great recommendations and was constantly checking on us. We got stuffed mushrooms, chicken piccata and rigatoni arabiatta. We had dinner at the Friendship Heights location. I had the "Grand" Chicken Parmesan. It was a generous portion, and the marinara sauce was delicious. Our server did an outstanding job making sure we had everything we needed and that our meal was enjoyed by all. The atmosphere, service and food were all absolutely perfect. Saturday afternoon late lunch/birthday celebration for a dear friend. There were NO complaints from our party of 10. I'm always a fan of family style (socially AND financially). We enjoyed every appetizer and entree: (calamari, spinach artichoke dip, shrimp scampi, lasagna, chicken parmesan, salmon, and the dessert sampler). As far as the cocktails: the smoked old fashioned and the Rosa Spritz stole the show. Two classy presentations worth the experience. Maggiano's has the same 'old world, Little Italy charm ... not sure if the red velvet curtains work for me anymore but it's a clean, well-maintained restaurant whose customer service, IMHO, remains at the top of the list. (Shout-out to Chris for his EXCELLENT service!) Note: Maggiano's is the birthday king's FAVORITE restaurant so we come here just about every year for him. Not the biggest fan of visiting chain establishments but this experience was pretty good. We ordered 2 appetizers. The calamari and the meatballs. I really enjoyed the meatballs but the calamari had too much breading. I was full after having these two appetizers. For my entree I had the chicken parmigiana which was huge. Maggiano's has delicious food. Their chicken piccata is SO GOOD. It's a weird atmosphere inside because the front is cute and romantic but the back is like a fancy ballroom. The service is good but sometimes a little rushed like they aren't listening to you. Two of the times I've been, they got some of our order wrong. I keep coming back because the food really is genuine Italian and delicious. It's a little pricey for a plate of pasta, but it's worth it. We came here for a family style dinner for my husband's birthday. He's always been a big fan of Italian food but we have 5 kids so fine dining Italian was definitely OUT and we decided to try the family style menu and omg SO MUCH FOOD. And it's pretty good! Salad, appetizers, entrees, and bread were brought in quantities so copious even my greedy gut kids were completely full and we had to take home some fried zucchini (yum and a table favorite) and bruschetta. The entree selections were pretty broad and we went with chicken Parmesan, chicken Alfredo, salmon and chicken Marsala. They were all good but the chicken Marsala could have used some depth of flavor; no worries, there was so much food, we took it ALL home and I recooked it with the aforementioned depth of flavor! Much better on day 2. This is an amazing idea for large families, being able to share the entrees and they're bottomless apparently - we didn't hit the bottom!- means you're able to feed everyone four courses for a very reasonable amount (I think the price varies). We enjoyed our food and even though we'd brought a cake, they brought out a dessert course that was even more impressive than the hors d'oevres! The service was measured and hands off, but we enjoyed and our waitress even took our photo after dinner! We hadn't been to Maggiano's in a few years, but we're expecting a similar experience that we were used to. Instead, we received warm drinks from the bar, which also took over 20 minutes to get with only a handful of people at the bar and 3 other tables in the restaurant. Then, we ordered glasses of wine to have with dinner. The dinner was delivered but no wine. When we asked they said it would be right out. We didn't see anyone for another 20 minutes and when we did there was still no wine. By then we had finished our meals so asked to cancel the wine order. No apology or response other than "ok". Overall, not impressed with the bar service or overall experience. Unfortunate, won't be going back. read more

Has Pizza Bolis taken over management of Maggianos? We ordered dinner through Door Dash from Maggianos in Friendship Heights. Maggianos has been a favorite of ours for years, but oh my have things changed there. We ordered their famous Rigatoni D ($32), Calamari ($22) and a Maggiano's Salad with chicken ($29) - over $100 with delivery fee and tip. The Rigatoni D was the only decent dish, but a small portion for $32. Both the salad and calamari were just awful. I've truly had much better salads from local pizzerias. The calamari was inedibly salty. Maggianos is sadly resting on its laurels and disappointing its formerly loyal guests. read more

It was due to a mixup between hostess and server, totally understandable. However our drinks didn't come until half way through our meal. At that point he asked if we wanted parmesan on top, pointless given we were half done. I asked a hostess on her phone for bathroom and she was still on it when I came back. We had family visiting from out of town and although it had been many years since we had eaten at Maggiano's, it was an option we offered up for dinner and won the vote (based on our memories of dinners past:) When we arrived we were surprised how few diners were there, previous visits we found the place packed. We were seated immediately and greeted by our waiter in just a few minutes. Douglas explained that there were some changes to the menu and suppliers as well as a change in management... we were concerned... he assured us we'd enjoy the meal. As we had done previously, we ordered Family Style... and the food begin arriving with minutes... so much food! Caesar and tossed salads, soft pillowy rolls with brushed butter and garlic... followed about 10 minutes later by the appetizers! Most of the food arrived with 2 platters each:) Wagyu meatballs were delicious (but were outclassed by the amazing red sauce and crostini in the dish), the fried mozzarella was the perfect blend of ooey and gooey (the accompanying sauce was good, but who needs them?)... at that point the table was full. Douglas checked in on us throughout and the staff kept our water glasses full. Just as we were winding down and questioning if we could eat anymore, Douglas arrived with boxes/bags for the leftovers and began removing used plates. We boxed and bagged and then the entrees arrived. Fettucine Alfredo with chicken (the creamiest perfectly cooked noodles with sliced spice encrusted chicken), Beef tenderloin with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and topped with crispy fried onion strings (cooked to a perfect medium temperature and easily cut with a fork edge or butter knife, yum!), Lasagna (fork tender and so flavorful, just enough cheese and sauce) and Rigatoni in a light red sauce (good, but lost in sea of more seasoned and ooh'ed and aah'd dishes), More boxes/bags arrived (just as we were about to slip into food comas) and Douglas said he would be out shortly with desserts and took coffee orders. Then the large wedges of chocolate layer cake arrived (sweet and creamy, but a with an unexpected bite... coffee maybe?), large squares of tiramisu (silky smooth with hints of chocolate and more coffee, converted my niece who had never liked tiramisu:) and Cheesecake sitting in a puddle of strawberry glaze and covered in fresh strawberries (lot's of moaning and glazed eyes around the table:). Moments later Douglass arrived with a fourth unexpected treat, 2 large wedges of Pumpkin cheesecake (Wow! Just wow!). We were beyond impressed with the service, the attention to detail and of course, the amazing food! We had eaten at Maggiano's many times over the years and can easily say while past visits were good-great, this meal and service was the best ever. We are already planning our next visit! read more
