I have to say I was pleasantly surprised returning to Maggie's after 10+ years of living out of the area. I had remembered the restaurant as sort of a cheap and greasy, low quality bar/pub akin to Ruby Tuesday or Chilis, so when my boyfriend suggested we have dinner there I was reluctant. I am glad I agreed to give the lace another chance because I was absolutely surprised and pleased by the quality of the food, the selection, and the wait staff. We were there on a Monday night so I wasn't expecting to to be crazy, I think that worked in their favor because we were given a little more attention than we might have on a busy night. I ordered a sandwich with turkey, brie, and cranberries with a side Cesar salad- all was fresh and delicious- especially the turkey which was obviously fresh and hand carved, not lunch meat! My boyfriend has a thick, juicy burger with a side of veggies and he devoured it. We were both pleased with the portion and food quality. My boyfriend also had two jack and coke's which were well mixed and NOT light on the jack. Overall we had a good experience and they have won me over- I would go back again, for sure. read more

We go here for last minute dinners if we're too lazy to cook. Food portions are large and they have a huge selection along with drinks. However, consistency is not there. We have ordered steak egg rolls and they either come out cold or undercooked so the roll is mushy. Staff need a lot more training, bartenders are inattentive. We did not get silverware or plates the last 3 times we ordered food to share. So we had to sit and wait until someone came by. We came in got seated upstairs it seemed pretty busy this Sunday evening we noticed right away our waitress was favoriting another table near us and unfortunately that caused our service to be extremely delayed which we were really unhappy about we ordered a nacho platter it came with beans cheese chips salsa guacamole and sour cream was put on the side as we asked. Ordered a southern chicken sandwich, and ordered a bbq burger both with regular fries. Service was ok we waited about 15,20 minutes to even have a waitress or waiter come and take our drink order. This was also our first time and where we are sitting it happens to be like right under a air vent so our food got cold pretty fast but the aesthetic of this place I really love. It's a lot like how I'd want my future home to look like I mean the style of the wood and the fact there's a very farm like simplistic design. I've eaten at Maggie's before, at a couple of locations and love the Thai lettuce wraps. I was really looking forward to supporting them during this weird time. My BF and I arrived at approximately 2:00 on a Sunday and observed that they were pretty busy, but had outdoor seating set up. We walked into the bar area to see the hostess and get a table, but there was no one there. We approached the bar and the bartender asked if we wanted a seat. They had nice plexiglass dividers for the bar patrons and he was standing behind one at the tap. The bar, unfortunately was filthy- I think because the plexiglass made it hard to clean, but that wasn't the worst part ... the taps and the bartender was swarmed with small flies!!! We said "were waiting on the hostess" and stood awkwardly for a minute and I told my BF, let's go... and we left. Driving out of the parking lot, we noticed tons of garbage overflowing the dumpster and boxes everywhere. It was pretty bad. Maggie McFly's was probably one of the worst dinners I have ever had. There were flies everywhere, you had to fight them for your meal. It was disgusting. It would have been a little better if the food was good, but it wasn't. I got the steak it was completely raw. When I asked them to fix it they overcooked it until it was dry. Even the sides were just absolutely awful. The staff weren't to nice about the issues. They argued with me about how the food was cooked. My family and I all had issues with are food, they all complained, but nothing was done for them. Nothing was refunded and nothing was done to make up for it. The people at Maggie McFly's could not have cared less that there food and service was awful. I was disappointed and haven't gone back since. Not to mention there way overpriced. I expected better. On our first visit I got the Fish and Chips, and the fries were good, but the fish was bland and blah. Even salt and pepper didn't help much. On my next visit, I got the crab cakes, which were listed as having lump crab meat. Nope. Mine were mostly bread with a sliver of crab here and there and no crab flavor. Very disappointing. This is my boyfriend and I's favorite place to go in the middlebury area. We usually sit at the bar and go during happy hour, but we have sat and dined for dinner a couple times. Let me start off by saying that my boyfriend has a strict diet and can't eat a lot of stuff. Their menu is HUGE but somehow still not too overwhelming and he always find something that he ends up loving. I love the atmosphere and all around 'homey vibe, for a bigger restaurant it has a way of making you feel cozy and comfortable. We have always had great service and I love the bar bites they offer. Maggie's is great. The food is delicious. Their new menu is much less overwhelming than the one prior & the ambience is great as always. Ugh. Grossest wings I've ever had, so mushy and fatty with no crunch and only like 3 kinds of wings to choose from even though the menu looks like the Webster dictionary. It's also really pricey for the quality. If the wings were worth eating I wouldn't care but I think I ate only 2 and gave away the rest. That is sad. This was suggested to me by my daughter who goes to Post University. I took her there and her roommate. Food was delicious and prices are reasonable. Service was okay once we were seated. We waited awhile to be seated because they were super busy. Maybe we had a waiter that was overwhelmed or tired but I plan to go back because the food is good. I had pasta and my daughter had ribs. I don't remember what her friend got. On January 11 I went back with my daughter for lunch before I headed back to the airport. We were seated immediately and got our food right away. We had soup and then pasta and their clam chowder is delicious, as well as the butternut squash soup. I can honestly say this is my favorite place to go when I visit my daughter. First time back in a while. I went to Maggie's a lot when it first opened years ago. Everything was good when they first opened. Over time, the food steadily dropped off and we stopped going. We were invited last minute to go to Maggie's by another couple and we figured why not give it another shot. We were happy we did. Everything turned out very good. The beer list was good. Our waitress was excellent. They had a decent crowd that night. Busy, but not crazy insane busy like it was when they first opened. You could hold a conversation without having to yell. I began with a nice oatmeal stout and a french onion soup. Excellent beer. The soup was good. Not the best I've ever had, but good. I'd order it again. Then I had the portabella ciabatta sandwich. Portabella mushroom, gouda cheese, avocado, tomato, red onion, mixed greens, garlic aioli, and balsamic reduction on a grilled ciabatta roll. Excellent sandwich. We like going to Maggie's for a few reasons, the most important reason of course is that it has a decent size gluten-free menu. It's also close by, decent quality food and there's never too much of a wait. I wouldn't suggest it if you are looking for a nice quiet dinner because it can get pretty loud but overall it's a very decent place, easy on and off the highway, good amount of parking in very large inside. Everytime I've been here within the past few months, something has gone wrong. Whether it be that there was plastic wrap found in soup (the price of the soup was taken off the order, but still gross), fries dumped in my boyfriends lap, or when ordering Fettuccine Alfredo for take out there was no Alfredo sauce. Middlebury Conn. I really wanted to like this restaurant. It has great atmosphere but I was so disappointed in service and food. There was an unmanned hostess station when we arrived but we were happy to sit at the bar. My husband ordered a Budweiser and the bottle gushed out when bartender opened it/ cooler could be too cold. No big deal but it sprayed both of them. I ordered a margarita on the rocks. Surprised at small size of glass. We were ignored for a while but the bartender eventually came and took order- onion soup for hubby and a medium rare blue cheese hamburger with fries for me. Scalding hot soup but he waited to cool down. The bartender began to ask how my burger was then stopped because he realized I hadn't cut through it or tasted it. If he had returned, he would have noticed it was well done! Never came back to check because he must have glanced at my plate and saw it. I suffered through half and then decided to bring it home to dogs. Btw- smidgen of blue cheese sauce- 1/16 th inch thin tomato slice and thin thin onion . Fries were okay. Disappointed is putting it mildly because we stumbled on this restaurant and was hoping this could be a stop on the route to and from NYC. As we left, the bartenders were changing shifts. No one said thanks for coming. Etc. interesting enough, I heard the couple a few seats down as they were leaving- he asked her if she liked the place and she answered "Naw, it wasn't so good " and he agreed! My number 1 suggestion is to send ALL your chefs to Medium Rare hamburger school and learn how to tell when to remove hamburger from the fire! There is an overwhelming menu and I'm mad at myself for choosing a burger! Usually when you dedicate a page to burgers - it means you excel at them. Came here for the first time with my boyfriend and I was not impressed. It took about a good 3 mins or so for the hostess to show up to the podium and seat us. The place itself is not clean. It's winter time but there was a fly flying around in the area where we were seated which was near the kitchen. From where I was seating, I can see the kitchen and a garbage can that was overflowing with food. Waitress was nice. When we ordered a kids soda was $1.75 but a kids strawberry lemon aid is $3.25 (twice the price) and prices are not listed for these drinks on the kids menu. Waitress did not tell us that this was even going to be an up charge. Second issue that day was the soup and salad special that my wife ordered looking at the lunch menu; but, received salad, from the kitchen, from the dinner menu instead, which was not on special for that price savings. We've gone to Maggie McFly's three times since moving to Naugatuck in December. Each time, we've gone with a group larger than four people and each time, we've been pleased. The burgers are good - the meat is always cooked the way we like. Long list of beers and wines - great to try new things. Only once did we have a service "complaint". The restaurant was busy and one of the members in our group was brought the wrong meal. He then had to wait an extra half hour for his food. The manager came over to apologize and gave him the meal for free. We always bring our friends and family here when they come to visit. The cost is reasonable, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. read more

I've come here a couple times. The bartenders and wait staff have always been nice. My drink orders have always been good. My dinners are always a hit and miss. I've had nachos here and had hair in my nachos (blonde hair and at the time I had green hair). They were polite and gave it to me for free.
