The bartender came over shortly and said that our waitress was busy and that he would help her. The bartender ended up taking care of us during our entire dining time. I was really nervous eating here at first because the menu was gigantic! However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they partnered/were outsourced by local farms, bakeries, etc. Pretty neat! I ordered the Gourmet Grilled Cheese with prosciutto and tomatoes. It was crispy and delicious! I was surprised with the large servings! I also had the Roasted brussel sprouts which were very tasty! I absolutely love brussel sprouts and these did not disappoint. They had a sweet and salty taste. I also ordered the Panko and Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower and it was amaaaaazing! It was in a dip form and you eat it with fresh potato chips. You could 't even taste the cauliflower...it tasted kind of like a crab dip! I loved it! I ended my meal with a Candy Explosion Cupcake and a side of vanilla ice cream. The cupcake came from Carolina Cupcakery. It was filled with sprinkles and fun! It was a little dry, but when eaten with the vanilla bean ice cream (which was really good), it was fine! I really enjoyed the decor and the idea of the restaurant partnering with the community. Okay so I gave them 2 stars because I've been to this place plenty of times and I've never had an issue everything is normally sooo good!However, this last time I've been ALL of my food was cold!! Even when it was sent back it was cold. I ordered soup and it was freezing, spinach dip-freezing, fish tacos-freezing, everything has to keep getting sent back!! My waitress was nice and informed us that she talked to the chefs. It was still cold! I'm upset because that's how people get sick due to food not being at the right temperature. My mojito was pretty solid. The she-crab bisque and buffalo cauliflower, seasonal appetizers, were tasty. If it weren't for our great server, this review would have been a one-star. Now for the bad. My son's burger was overcooked to the point of being quite dry, especially for being so thick. Furthermore, for being a "siracha burger" it was quite mild and only had any flavor when biting into the fried jalepeños. My entree, the chicken gyro, was terribly dry as well and was only saved by the side salad that came with it. Basically the only reason why I enjoyed it was that I was able to use the salad's vinaigrette on the gyro so it wasn't as dry. It was a disappointing experience. read more

HUGE menu! There is something for everyone. I love that they buy local and support local from their food to their beer. Overall, we had a great experience, from our waitress to our food. I ordered the Louisiana Chicken, my husband the French Dip sandwich and we ordered my daughter the All Natural Chicken Breast Dinner with green beans and fries...we also ordered the truffle fries as an app. I'll start with the truffle fries...it was really tasty. There was a small hint of truffle oil, there could have been more, but they were still good. The sauce that it comes with is bangin' though! My meal was amazing. It was a HUGE portion. I had it for lunch and dinner the next day. So 3 meals for me. It had just the right amount of spice. The sauce is amazing. The tortellinis were delicious. I loved everything about my meal. Love love love this place. Been a dozen times now and keep coming back. I am gluten intolerant, and finding restaurants that have offerings other than salads is sometimes harder than it seems. I GOT FRIED CHICKEN HERE! My cocktail drinks are always fabulous, I give the service usually 7-8/10, and the menu is large enough for anyone to find something they like. Great ambiance. At first it reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory, it had a similar initial vibe at the door. However, this is no generic franchise. Everything we ordered was on point, spectacular taste and appearance. A variety of locally sourced food/drink. I love knowing people actually cooked my food to my liking, that it was not frozen, bagged and boiled, etc. This restaurant is well worth the price! This was our first time here since it opened attached to Lynnhaven Mall. The place had this travel theme hence the name Maggie McFly. Atmosphere was great, modern look. Bar is in the middle with Tv's around it. Didn't get a chance to go to it because we had our daughter with us so opted for a booth area. The waiter was attentive. Though their menu is text book thick literally a lot of pages to go through from beer, wine, cocktails, seafood, pasta, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, so forth. It each had its own page for food categories. So it might take awhile to pick what exactly you want if you can't decide what to get. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with additional chicken which was I believe an additional $3.99. My husband had the Mac and Cheeseburger with fries. It was delicious I had taken a bite. We had asked for a side of garlic aioli sauce to dip the fries in, it's a must!! My daughter had the ravioli pasta from the kids menu. He had gotten our order and said he would bring out bread for us while waiting. Never got our bread and 15-20 mins later just got our meal. Ladies FYI: I was wearing low heel slip on sandals and I slipped almost 3 times walking back from the bathroom and leaving the place. The floor was really slippery be careful what you wear going there. My daughter had also noticed it and told me to watch out and she was wearing sneakers so just be mindful. We went here for a friend's bridal shower. They have a huge menu and I had a hard time deciding what to order. I'm not sure what food they're famous for, so I went with what I usually get in most restaurants -- chicken. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner. It was ginormous! The size of the plate is like the serving plate we use at home. There were two huge battered chicken breasts with what seems like a pound or more of garlic mashed potato and corn. It's really delicious. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The mashed potato was creamy and just the right amount of seasoning. Even the corn tasted good! Since the portion is so big, I didn't have to buy dinner for my husband. I took home the other half for him. I was already so full after eating half of my food but I couldn't resist the sound of chocolate cake. I ordered the Black Out Cake. When it came out, I thought they made a mistake. That thing is massive! I looked at the dessert menu again, and it clearly says there 6 layers! There was enough cake to go around our table. For what I have tried, I have no complaints! read more

Came here on Friyay to enjoy some dranks and grub. I didn't know much about Maggie McFly's other than it's from CT. None the less, we had a good experience here, we sat at the bar and enjoyed the $4 Bar Bites. I got the Buffalo Blast, and the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The staff, even people who weren't our servers were making sure we are ok, the customer service was on point. The food I ordered was good, the Buffalo Blasts were essentially chicken bites and they were nice a crispy. The Brussel sprouts, nice and crispy, can't really mess those up. My friend and I remember asking for the Avocado Fries, but they never came, and luckily I wasn' charged for them, so maybe our server forgot to order them for us. My buddy got Wings and those were on point as well. Towards the end of our visit, it's like everyone disappeared, so I had to spend some time trying to find our server back in order to get our checks. I expected the check to be kinda hefty but it wasn't too bad, considering I had several drinks. I would be willing to come back to try those Avo Fries and some other interesting things on the menu. Maggie McFly's Brain Solito Rapheal (my Service Dog) and I just had a terrible experience at Maggie McFly's Lynnhaven Mall Virginia Beach. First some background information. I had a Stroke back on May 19th. That's why I haven't been out for a while. My friends wanted to go to Maggie McFly's. So I said ok. I have been in this restaurant several times over the past few years with Rapheal. We have never had a problem. Tonight was a completely different story. First they sat us at a high table right outside the kitchen door. Then the Manager, Brain Solito came out and said that Rapheal had to be under the table. I said that he cannot fit under the table. Mr. Solito then said he has to because he cannot be in the aisle. I said there is plenty of room in the aisle people with walkers or wheelchairs can get through. He said again he must be under the table. I then asked if he could move us to a table more out of the way. ( The place was just about empty. ) He said that no matter what table he moved us to he would have to be under the table. I then said that their tables do not accommodate a larger dog to be under them with more than two people sitting there. He said that was their rule and I can call corporate if I wanted to, and have me their number. So I will call them tomorrow. Under the table is a request not a law. The law is as long as people can get by uninhibited. I always make sure that a walker or wheelchair can get by. Also as I said the place was empty. See the pictures. Rapheal and I have traveled all across the country and have been in way better places. Maggie McFly's Corporate needs to educate their employees and change their policies if that rule is truly one of them. Like I said we have been in there several times before and never had an issue. We had a bad experience. The restaurant was empty. My Aunt ordered a Pina Colada, they were out of mix. Then she ordered coconut shrimp, also out of that dish. My Mother ordered stuffed shrimp. It was a ton of white sauce with very little shrimp or crab buried underneath. I had a shrimp salad. More chopped iceberg than anything else. One slice of avocado and a half dozen small shrimp. My cousin had grilled chicken she enjoyed but how hard is grilled chicken? Good service, very unapologetic manager that didn't seem to care about the restaurant's short comings that night. No effort to have us come back. Needless to say, we will not come back. With so many choices in VA beach, I recommend finding a better place. read more

I went back hoping it'd be different. Went for lunch and was seated (the hostesses were playing around before paying us any attention.) We get seated and wait. And wait. Busboy is cleaning the table...but here we are. After 20 minutes I was fed up and went to the hostess stand. Low and behold. There is no one there. So I'm awkwardly standing waiting for anyone to notice. A waiter catches my eye and I let him know that no one has been over. He promises to get someone. 15 more minutes go by and finally someone walks up. He was African American with full beard and fro. He apologizes and takes our order and says he's just gonna put our orders in but someone else is going to be our waiter. Fine. My drink comes out but not my husband's. Food comes out and I inform the runner about it but she does nothing. No one checks on us while we're eating. Empty water. No extra napkins. Literally piss poor service. Finally his drink randomly appears from our missing server (the original guy.) He was very quick to give us the check and take our money (figures). Have been here twice now. On the first visit I dined alone on the patio. The service was very good. I had a craving for chilli so I ordered the whole sandwich with soup from the lunch menu. The chilli was very good, will have it again. I chose the French dip not expecting much, but for me it was the best option on the lunch menu. It turned out to be a great sandwich, tender roast beef with a soft slightly crusty roll that went perfect with the dip. There is many options on the lunch menu including a list of select sandwiches from main menu that you can pair with soup or salad and the sandwiches could be ordered 1/2 or whole. Overall a great first experience. I just took the family today here for lunch. Initial seating was quick but not very personal. But our server was most excellent. My wife had the tuna sandwich with butternut squash soup. She loved her meal especially the soup. The kids menu is quite large. They both loved their meals. I had the chicken parmigiano. I found the dish was just fair but the sauce was a little bland. So far I think that this resturant deserves 4 2/2 stars. With their extensive menu and time to break in this will be a common eatery for us. read more

She Crab Bisque - luke warm, canned "blackish" crabmeat tasting stale. Hard to finish. Crab puffs - soggy inside, loaded with mayo, blech. Lobster tacos - yuck! They must use mostly canned lobster or something. Tasted horrible and wife could not finish. Bartender did not question that most of the crab puffs and nearly all of the street taco mess was uneaten... Lesson learned - they can only have such a wide variety of menu items by not using fresh seafood - our conclusion. This restaurant is new to our area so we decided to try them out. Well, I will say that the place has a very nice sports bar atmosphere. The menu is very overwhelming. Too many items to choose from. Wasn't impressed with my dish, I ordered the club sandwich and fries, nothing special...I was blown by the time I finished looking through that encyclopedia they call a menu. Nevertheless, I'm willing to try them again and see how things go. I'm giving four stars for location only. We'll have to see what happens my next visit. read more

YALL PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE THIS YOUR NEXT STOP FOR A MEAL OUT! Seriously. We came on a Saturday afternoon, literally 4:15 and there was already a 45 minute wait..that says something! We managed to find a seat at the bar so we ended up getting served right away. Between the two of us we had a wine flight, mule flight, mimosa flight, and a mojito flight. All were phenomenal! Mimosa and mojito flight aren't actually on the menu but our bartender Lydia was amazing and offered to make them for us. They did not disappoint. Lydia was hilarious and really made our experience awesome. Now the food...I just can't even! The Philly steak egg rolls -10/10. The Brussels sprouts-20/10. Yes I meant to type 20. Broccolini 10/10. I had the short rib brisket and my friend had a burger that were both delicious. The menu is honestly HUGE, there is something for everyone. I was nervous because a lot of restaurants with huge menus suffer in quality but not Maggie's! I honestly can't wait to come back and try more items. We came to this location for my birthday dinner while at virginia beach back on June 24th. It has been many years (over 10) since I have been to Lynnhaven mall but was glad to see even though the mall is slacking now that there is still great places to eat around it. Walking in we were very impressed with the atmosphere, it took a little while for our waitress to come get our drink order but when she did she was amazing. Having never been to the restaurant we were at a disadvantage with selecting drinks from the menu... She offered suggestions and the 3 drinks a piece we had were AMAZING.. The food choices are just as many as the drinks and definitely didn't disappoint. The portions are huge and flavorful. Now the prices were higher then you expect walking in but definitely doable. It will take you FOREVER to get through the menu though so be sure to ask your waitress for recommendations or take a look at the menu before getting there to cut down on the time it will take. He thought it was a bit dried out but loved the mashed sweet potatoes. I got the Crispy Chicken Costoletta. The sauce was TOO over powering of lemon. It is supposed to be a lemon cream sauce, but the excess lemon ruined the dish. The rest of the dish was really good. Our second visit was with family for lunch. We got the pretzel again, the cheese sauce was a bit better this time, still needs improvement. Mozzarella triangles. They were tasteless. Would never buy again. This place is a better yard house without the ridiculous wait and 180 menu items! There's a seasonal menu as well as pages and pages of menus. The crispy crab puffs, truffle fries and crispy coconut shrimp appetizers are too good and a good amount of food. The dessert menu looks amazing. Slow Sat night. I went there with my family and our food was out very quickly, which really impressed us. The food is a bit on the pricy side but definitely worth it! I ordered the Louisiana Chicken and it was honestly the best dish I've had in a long time. On top of that, the portions are huge so I had enough for 3 days! My daughters chicken tenders were undercooked but she LOVED the fried Mac and cheese! This one our favorite places to eat. The menu is quite extensive and there is something for everyone. Last night I had the grilled tuna. It was cooked to perfection, but I had to tell the temperature I wanted my tuna. Best Brussels sprouts, but get them with a side of the garlic aoli it adds such different layer of flavored and adds a little fat to go with the sprouts. Our server Zachary did a great job!!
