Maggie mcflies has an incredibly large selection of food. The menu is at least 12 pages, starting with drinks beer wines, cocktails, soft drinks going into breakfasts, and lunch and pasta salads. Tacos nachos appetizers. Poultry beef seafood? It's just overwhelming if you decide to visit here. Check online at their menu first, then go in order to drink as you sit as you begin to read this short shory of a menu. Grab a quick appetizer and then the meal, of course. My drink is the whiskey old fashioned. All the time, that's usually a good one. This one did not have any simple syrup, and the bartender was very nice to add some into for me. We visited on a Saturday afternoon early evening. The restaurant was packed, and parking was hell we. Decided to sit at? The bar. And wait for the 40 minutes. With? My. Out? Of town? Guess 35 minutes later. She took us to a table for 4 because they were 4 in my party. However, my husband and his best friend are over 64 each. And the sitting? Area. That she had? Places. In? What's? Quite? Small we remove to a large table all the way across the restaurant at seats about 6, and we're very comfortable at this round table. Our waiter and server was in training being shadowed by another employee. He must of studied the menu, and was well informed of the meals we had questions about. Never going back. Started off great; the apps were really good. We got fried pickles and the artichoke dip. I ordered shrimp and garlic risotto...I've never given good back because it was so bad. The risotto wasn't cooked all the way or properly it seemed, the sauce was terrible and looked like it came from a Campbells soup can, the shrimp looked like they were boiled and overall got a lean cuisine vibe from it. Then ordered a burger and my sweet potato fries came out so burnt there was barely any orange left on them. i tried my friends food as well, and safe to say I've never had so many bland dishes in my life. The first expression was cool , and I was greeted and seated right away. Ordered 3 appetizers: avocado rolls, Brussels, and fried mozzarella. Entrée I ordered veggie ramen & to drink coconut margarita everything was delicious. I loved that there were a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. Our server Jaden was great & attentive there were a few things that were delayed or missed due to miscommunication, but he took care of things right away. After a couple visits, I must say I enjoy this place! The times I have gone, there has always been a wait, but the bar seating is first come, first serve where full menu ordering is available. Great presentation of their meals and appetizers. The caesar salad is my absolute favorite; good salad to dressing ratio. Chicken dumplings, onion rings, brussel sprouts all delicious! My favorite meal was the bang bang shrimp and chicken. Honestly was not expecting a curry like sauce but it was to die for! Leftovers were sooo good. This may have literally been the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. Let's start out with the service. I'm not sure if our server was just really new and didn't really understand her job but it was clear she was lost. First it took forever to get anything. I think she only came by our table maybe 3 times. My husband ordered a drink that he didn't get until long after the food came out. My son never got his drink or food. Trish attempted to tell us his food went to another table, and they were remaking it but at that point he had already ate my food so I told her don't bother. I was completely outraged at that point. Messing up my food is one thing but my 2 year old son not getting his food is completely unacceptable. The server should have came to the table and ensured he received his food first. The food itself was mediocre at best. I had the wagyu burger that was almost $20 and I wouldn't have paid $5 for it. It was completely dry and over cooked. My husband had the salmon and it was completely dried out. Nothing had season or flavor. We definitely won't be back. My wife and I recently dined at Maggie McFly's in Virginia Beach and we had a good experience overall. They have a fairly diverse selection on the menu, and having been here several times before I usually try to get something different with each visit, but the three taco combo is my go-to dish. The combination of flavors in both the baja-spiced chicken and barbacoa shredded beef tacos was phenomenal. The shredded cabbage added a nice crunch, while the peppadew peppers and fried jalapeno provided a mild kick. The house-made guacamole and salsa verde were the perfect accompaniments, elevating the tacos to another level of deliciousness. The baked stuffed shrimp was my wife's choice. The jumbo shrimp filled with crab meat and herb stuffing were cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the creamy lemon sauce. The whole grain brown rice and sautéed spinach rounded out the dish perfectly. However, we have to deduct one star from the rating due to a minor issue with the shrimp tails not being removed. While this didn't detract from the overall taste of the dish, it did make for a messier meal than she expected. Nevertheless, the quality of the food and the excellent service went a long way toward making up for this small inconvenience. read more

My family went to this restaurant yesterday and it might be one of the best restaurants I been to in a while. The ambiance was really nice! It was dim lit, nice bar selection, and the menu was a book. It had soooo many different options. There are not many restaurants that has a lot of options, on the kids menu, but Maggie McFlys does! Our server Justin was great. He came back and forth to check on the table, and he gave a great suggestion. The food was great and it came out fast. We got the Buffalo chicken egg roll wraps for a appetizer! They were good! My daughter got the kids fried Mac bites, fries and brocollini. She loved it! My spouse got glazed salmon, asparagus and jasmine rice. She also enjoyed her food. I got the crab stuffed shrimp, with sautéed spinach, and brown rice. It was amazing. I also got the Barbie DreamHouse drink from the bar, it was sooooo good. I got two. Be careful it tastes like juice but the alcohol is there. It also has the candy pop rocks on the rim. Everywhere was busy and I ended up here at Maggie's. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. It wasn't as busy as other places and wasn't lousy like, for a mall restaurant. I sat at the bar and there were two bar tenders doing a very good job with people. Part of the bar where I sat was dirty and never cleaned. I ended up scooting down a couple chairs. Their menu is huge, like cheesecake factory's. The bar tenders laughingly refer to it as a book. It's literally a lil binder. There are some handy hooks under the bar for your purse. I think I saw some USB outlets too! I started with a martini, it was good. Made stirred, not shaken. Glass was a little dirty. I also had the mule flight, which was interesting to try all the different kinds. They really go pretty sweet on the strawberry and raspberry ones. The small plate quinoa chickpea salad was really dry. It didn't seem to have any of the honey dressing in the description. Some of the chickpeas and corns were a lot more cooked than others. This ended up being replaced with another dish. The firecracker shrimp appetizer off the newer items was great. They were lightly battered and really crunchy. The sauce had a nice flavor. I'm not sure they needed the haphazard pile of spinach and carrots in the middle or the ranch. I chose an entree off the healthy section, the chicken Buddha bowl. It was really great. I liked the sauce, bit watery but not in a bad way. The chicken was moist and the rice was cooked well. There's lots of vegetables on it and I would definitely order it again. The veggies really were stellar and fresh. Yum! The music is all over the place but leaning toward more modern poppy rock. There was an awkward segue from the white stripes to John Denver. Queen was on when I arrived. What a mix! I'll definitely be back here now that I know they have some good dishes and service. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. I would love to tell you the food is delicious and I had the best time there but I CANT. we walked in there at 10PM at 1015 we hadn't even been asked if we wanted water and by 1020 we gave up. I have gone 3 times in the last 2 months and these were my issues: Visit 1: ordered 2 desserts to go. The brownie sundae and the dirt cup. The sundae was only a brownie. Missing toppings, no whipped cream, no sauce, no ice cream. Just a brownie. The dirt cup was just chocolate pudding. Missing the toppings, mix in and the whipped cream. Visit 2: ordered the apple cobbler dessert to go. The cobbler was missing the actual cobbler topping and it was a box of baked apples. Again, missing the ice cream. Visit 3: Ordered the grilled chicken entree. This entree costs $17.95. The portion of chicken I received was the same size as a piece of chicken on a breakfast sandwich at any fast food place. I get grilled chicken all over VB at various restaurants and was in shock at the portion size. Additionally, there was no flavor or season to the chicken. I also requested my sides to NOT be the rice and veggies. I requested to swap out for a side salad and fries and was told no problem. Upon getting home with my receipt, I see that I was charged for the side of fries as an ADDITIONAL side and not in place of the side with my meal. The salad was not even in the bag nor was it rung in. So I paid over $20 for a tiny piece of chicken and a small side of fries. That's just crazy! So I finally had enough and spoke with the general manager. She admitted untrained staff had been putting together orders and they didn't know what's supposed to come with various menu items. She said I would be contacted by corporate and sent a gift card for my issues. A month went by and corporate never called me. I reached out to them and it took a week for someone to email me back. They stated a gift card was in the mail. I received the gift card... for only $20. I spent more than double that on 3 desserts and 1 entree that were all incorrect. So this shows you how much they value you as a customer and the money you spend with them. I have reached out 3 times over the last week to let them know I'm not satisfied with this gift card and they are refusing to respond to me. I highly suggest you not eat here and spend your money with a company or small business that actually values you and will ensure you're taken care of when they mess up. My 'grass feed' burger was not very good, doesn't seem like the typical grass feed beef products I've had elsewhere. The bun was a huge disappointment, much like what I remember McDonalds' buns as a kid. My fries were barely more than room temp, my refill of tea was sweet instead of unsweet. The egg roll sampler had buffalo, philly cheese, reuben, and Tex-Mex. All of them came with their respective sauces. Did not disappoint one bit, we even had leftovers. They were very well sized! Next, we tried the cheeseburger sliders which was on point as well. I initially judge a place by not their food, but their Moscow Mule. Let's just say Maggie's passed my Mule test. I was genuinely surprised that the food here was so good. We ordered from here on a whim and got a call from Missy with a question about our order. Most places don't even care and won't bother to call if what you ordered online wasn't clear. They also have a huge menu which you would think they can't be great at making all of it.. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious, perfectly portioned for hungry folks and well-prepared (they don't skimp on bacon either). Visited this restaurant for first time yesterday. A couple of things were a turn off for me. Came in with a few people but ran into a few people we know. We sat in two separate tables in same area. Ordered the deviled eggs which were not good. Buffalo blasts were fine and paella was okay. We had one server waiting on multiple tables( over 10 people) so no refills were offered, food took a while to come out even though restaurant was not busy. A couple of others were equally unimpressed by their food. Over cooked Brussels sprouts, calamari no season, herbed salmon also. Once we were done dining the waitress bought one bill for all tables assuming we were one big party! NO! We asked for the bill to be split and they insisted on charging us as one large party. I did not know what to expect coming here. It wasn't as busy as I expected it to be, which was really nice. I've always passed this place when I go into Lynnhaven Mall and the smell radiating from this place is always delicious. As you can tell I eat with my nose primarily LOL. My Fiancé and I were invited by a couple of friends to go here and least to say I was not disappointed. The waiter we had was very friendly and attentive. The food was good, but nothing to rave over. The food prices are basically the same as if you were to go to any other restaurant. I was extremely impressed with the alcoholic beverages. The design of the cocktails were pretty cool, but that just may be me because I don't order cocktails, but my fiancé did and he isn't much of a drinker either. Oh my goodness, what an extensive menu. I've had college textbooks with less writing in them. Seriously, their beverage menu is longer than most restaurants' full menus. After a long day of doing grocery deliveries, I took a seat at the bar for a late afternoon Sunday meal. I started with the Tex Mex egg rolls. I got three huge rolls, which were then cut in half, stuffed with chicken, black beans, corn, peppers, and onions, and served with a delicious avocado ranch sauce. The filling was very good, but they didn't use a traditional egg roll wrapper, it actually reminded me of pizza dough. I decided to eat half of these and take the rest home. When I got them home, I heated them in the toaster oven for a little extra crispiness and I actually preferred them the second time around. For my entrée, I tried the Mixed Grille salad. Now as a guy trying to get more protein in his diet, it only made sense! Asian steak skewers, chicken, shrimp, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, and Asiago cheese over mixed greens (I omitted the bleu cheese). Juicy and well seasoned meats, fresh vegetables, a zesty vinaigrette. This was a fantastic salad, I just wish I had some good bread for dipping! I took a slice of the cinnamon roll cheesecake home and it was a pretty good dessert. Although considering the idea of combining those two individual desserts, maybe I was expecting a little too much. On my first bite, I was expecting to hear angels signing. We, for some time had grown fond of Maggie McFly's. The menu selection, especially having family members with significant allergies, has always been a treat. The food quality has always been amazing as well. Our last three visits to the Virginia Beach location though have been terrible customer service experiences. The most recent visit was the evening, and it was the worst of the three yet. We have experienced not being acknowledged once seated previously, but tonight we waited over 15 minutes before anyone walked up to say Hi, bring water, or ask if wanted anything to drink. It would maybe be more understandable if the restaurant was busy, and people were running around serving everyone. However, there could not have been more than 5-10 tables that were set, and at any moment I could look around and see 5 wait staff standing around, watching the game, or waiting on the bartender for extended periods of time. I finally walked over to the host desk and asked if we were set in an area that was not being serviced. All they told me was that someone would be with us shortly. After about another 5 min or so the game went to commercial again, and the server came over and told us that they did not realize we were their table. No less than 5 staff had repeatedly walked past us without acknowledging we were sitting there. After I placed my order, a server who appeared to possible be the manager came over to ask me again about the temperature of my burger. I say again because I had already told our server I wanted it medium. When she came to the table my wife was using her Lumen device. It is a device you breath into and it tells you how your body's metabolism is working. The lady looks at my wife and says "Mam, Vaping is not allowed in my restaurant." I should have asked her if she was giving us general information, or if she was accusing her of something. However, I just explained to her it was not a vape device. She looked like she did not believe me and proceeded to tell us she was just letting us know. I had to re-ask for 2 of the items I had ordered after the food came out. One would think that when you are charging $33 for a burger and some chicken and rice soup that the service would be a little better. The service was just Okay, nothing extra the server appeared to be new, we told her it was our first time there so we would need a moment to scan the menu, her respond was oh okay. Now to the food. We all ordered something different, to start we ordered the buffalo chicken dip, it looked good but it was Luke warm, we actually sent it back to be warmed up. Then the rest of the meal came out, Fish and chips, chicken and shrimp fajitas, stuffed shrimp and brisket over rice. Everything looked good but the taste was definitely nothing to write home about, nothing seemed to be freshly made everything was barely warm accept for the fajitas. Everyone had the same thought of their meal and that was the food lacked seasoning. I don't like heavy seasonings but some is desired. The best part of this meal was the ambiance of the place. We always saw this restaurant when we would visit Lynnhaven Mall and it does look tempting. There is an outdoor dining area which has a pretty nice view. We never made it here just until recently. We decided to check out happy hour before going shopping (which can be dangerous btw) :). We got seated outdoors as we also had out newborn. They didn't have a specific happy hour menu as were just told the specials. They have a huge menu which could be a red flag (frozen food). I ordered a different draft beer 3 times before telling me they did not have it in or they ran out. If that's the case, just reflect that on the menu or such. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and mild and Parmesan garlic wings. The BBQ chicken pizza was pretty tasty but the wings were just okay. The parmesan garlic wings were dry and the mild was not the best. The waitress was nice and accommodating though. It took me about 15 minutes to get one beer as the ones I kept ordering on the menu was out of stock. The Food was fantastic my service was subpar. We sat in the bar area and we ordered some beer flights and appetizers, she brought my flights but then she never came back to check on us. Someone else brought the meals out and my New Orleans chicken was Luke warm, I ate it because I was hungry and it had really good flavor, but my Short Rib Poutines and French onion soup came out the same time as my meal.
