We always saw this restaurant when we would visit Lynnhaven Mall and it does look tempting. There is an outdoor dining area which has a pretty nice view. We never made it here just until recently. We decided to check out happy hour before going shopping (which can be dangerous btw) :). We got seated outdoors as we also had out newborn. They didn't have a specific happy hour menu as were just told the specials. They have a huge menu which could be a red flag (frozen food). I ordered a different draft beer 3 times before telling me they did not have it in or they ran out. If that's the case, just reflect that on the menu or such. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and mild and Parmesan garlic wings. The BBQ chicken pizza was pretty tasty but the wings were just okay. The parmesan garlic wings were dry and the mild was not the best. The waitress was nice and accommodating though. It took me about 15 minutes to get one beer as the ones I kept ordering on the menu was out of stock. Only one visit Maggie's...but it was frustrating. The coconut shrimp dinner was a children's meal on the adult menu. Six smallish shrimp that were seriously over cooked. The veggies taste exactly like the microwave in bag veggies you get from the freezer section of the grocery store. Edible...far from a dining out experience. Asiago mashed was good to go and the only reason for a second star. The Blue Moon was great, but...I ordered a 23oz and I am fairly certain my pour was closer to a pint. No way to verify this, but it's not my first time getting beer. I really wish I had a 16 oz bottle of water with me to have run this to ground. I always start with service because that's the first thing you encounter when you enter a restaurant. We arrived before the noon rush on a sunny Saturday afternoon and boy, what a disappointment! We were a table of eight adults and we got a couple of sodas and the rest got water. We finally got the server to take our lunch order and after 35 minutes, we still don't have our soup. It took them 40 minutes to serve soup. I had to ask the server to bring out the soup first which was warm and not hot. They said they were making the French onion soup. Mind you, you top the bowl with cheese and broil it for about five minutes to melt and have that toasty top - not 20 minutes. The place was not even packed, you would understand if they were short staffed, not at all - a lot of them just stood there looking at their smart phones. Sad :-( That's a two star for me. As for the food, it was just okay for me. The French onion soup had one deep fried breaded onion ring. I guess that's their twist - it was okay. The chicken marsala was too sweet and tasted like BBQ with pasta and chicken. The Cobb salad was as you would expect since the ingredients were spelled out in the menu.the Ruben salad was ayt. If you don't mind waiting or you're not in a hurry and love to eat big portioned food, go to this place. This place was ok. The food was great, except that they didn't have the Tex-Mex egg rolls I ordered, boo. The street tacos were good, however, DO NOT order them on the lettuce wraps. I sat at the bar and the girl recommended them with the lettuce wrap, bad choice. They totally fall apart unlike her comment that the lettuce is sturdy and great to eat that way, nah ah. I get that certain sections of the restaurant are open at a time, but wow! I didn't know what to expect with this restaurant, I didn't know what their specialty was either. I sat down to this hard back, binder type book and for some reason thought it was a drink menu. Since the bar area was soo big, I thought maybe their niche was drinks. Boy was I wrong, this was the actual menu. This is yet another place where you need time to look over this extensive menu. ***Disclamer this will be lengthy so a summary is BEWARE if you want to plan a large party dinner at this venue*** Where do I begin?? I attended a birthday dinner here and there were about 17 people in attendance. We just finished a dance class and were 17 hungry (yet polite) ladies. Everything started off great! Our waitress took our drink and appetizer orders and then about 15 minutes later our complimentary breadsticks arrived. We were somewhat concerned only one waitress was assigned to our table but confident management placed the best waitress for this large party. Here's where things took a turn for the worse...about an hour later after placing the order a manager comes out and tells us we have a new waitress because our waitress left. Yes, left as in quit. It gets worse, then they let slip out the orders were never put into the system *gasps*. Hungry turns to hangry at that point. The manager soon changes her tune as she realized that wasn't the right thing to say to a group of 17 people who were waiting an hour! Apparently, our order was placed and would be ready in 10 minutes. Of course, 10 minutes turns into like another 30 minutes and longer. I completely understand large parties take a decent time to receive food. However, I would've never expected almost 3 hours to receive our order! Not to mention multiple people's orders were wrong and had to wait even longer. Moral of the story is rethink this place for large parties. Hampton Roads does not have many sit-down more dressy-casual setting restaurants. We have endless bars & restaurants, I'm glad we have a nicer family-oriented restaurant. They have a similar varietied (yes I made a word) menu, just like Cheesecake Factory. I wish they had a brunch menu though! I loved they already had chicken and waffles already on the menu, and avocado toast, but i would love some french toast from here on a Saturday. Their drink menu consists of made-to-order craft drinks, ranging from cosmos, to mules, and mixed drinks. Beer on tap, per usual as well. They have gluten-free options, as well as vegan/vegetarian friendly options as well. Everything on their menu comes with a list of ingredients, and even includes the location of where they were purchased. All ingredients support a local farm. This was not the first time I've been here, and this will not be my last! My favorite place to stop by outside the mall, not many people know about this little gem. Very impressed with this place. Came with my team after sand volleyball for a late dinner and we had a great time. It was late so we were easily seated at a large booth by the bar and greeted quickly. We tried many things off the menu and everyone was happy with their choices. The menu is huge and it took me forever to review it and I still didn't read everything. I found more than 10 things I could've ordered so I can have many more trips here in the future and I liked that they had a lighter menu (though I don't know how light it actually is...) I took photos of everyone's food and my friends loved their burgers, the chicken sandwich was a big hit and the pot roast got rave reviews. As for my shrimp salad it was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients and the shrimp was perfectly lightly breaded and cooked with a yummy sweet sauce drizzled on top. I loved it. Maggie McFly's is conveniently right outside of Lynnhaven mall sharing the same parking lot. There is no access to the restaurant from inside the mall. The esthetic and feel of the restaurant is nice and the theme fits the name. It's a casual dining place. The menu is huge. They used to have a book but now it's cut down to a big almost poster size front and back laminate menu which I think is much more appropriate and less overwhelming. We did walk-in at lunch time on Valentine's Day and they had a lot of available seating. Every time I come here they always have open seats available with no wait time. The restaurant is just so big. We were greeted with kind faces from the hostess to the server. Although we were a bit disappointed in our service. The food took a while to arrive and the server took forever just to give us our check even though he kept walking past us and we kept trying to wave him down. Other than that he was very pleasant. Our food was delicious. I had the Tuna Poke, my husband had a Sesame Tuna Steak and my kids got items off the kids menu. Everyone loved their food. The portions were huge. The prices seem high but when the food arrives it's worth it between the portion and taste. I feel like this place is underrated. The food has never disappointed me. Service could improve. The longest menu I have ever seen! There were so many options and it was hard to choose. After looking through the options about six times, I decided on the fresh fried mozzarella appetizer which was really good! Nice and crispy and it comes with marinara sauce for dipping. For dinner I ordered chicken costoletta. They could have cooked it a litte longer. I didnt want to complain as a first timer but some of the chicken was still red and I ended up cutting a lot of it off. 4 stars for the atmosphere and drinks. My hibiscus margarita had me both typsy and refreshed. It's a really nice bar and eatery with plenty of big screens for the games. I cannot remember what I had, but I know it was delicious because I kept reminding myself that I have to yelp about our experience. I wish I remembered our waitresses' name because she was so kind and personable. I also loved that happy hour applied to tables away from the bar area; most restaurants do not let you participate in happy hour unless you are seated in booths or tables in the vicinity of the bar. I ordered some type of martini that was strong and tasty :). My husband had crab cakes and he LOVEEED them! The best part of this experience is the name of the establishment. I couldn't wait to try the steak-n- cheese egg rolls as the person who'd accompanied me recommended I try. The presentation was sloppy, and the rolls were far from crispy. Upon inquiring about the appetizer further, the server notified us that corporate directed the change in wrap. But if you have a party of 12 or more and want split checks then this is not the restaurant for large parties. The restaurant's policy regarding large groups can put a damper on your dining experience because then you will have awkward process of calculating who owed what. Before I begin this review let me start off by saying that this review is based solely on my opinion and my opinion alone so with that being said let's go!. We called and tried to make reservations but weren't allowed to because of restaurant policy I believe and quoted us over the phone it would be a 2 hour wait but when we arrived and put our names on the list it was only an hour which was great ( thus the reason of one of the stars ). So to kill some time we walked around the mall which is right by the restaurant. When our party of 12 was ready we proceeded to the restaurant, we were promptly seated and greeted by our waitress ( don't quote me on the spelling but I believe her name was Misty or Missy ). She got us all waters then got our drinks out as well,the drinks were pretty good ( thus the reason of two stars ). We then ordered our appetizers and food at the same time in hopes of not waiting long for our food to come out. To our surprise the apps and main courses were delivered to our table rather quickly ( thus the reason of the third star ). The appetizers were delicious especially the cheesesteak egg rolls, a must try if you visit this restaurant. But I will say that's where the stars stop!!.. The main courses were returned by at least half of our dinner party because the food either had a funny taste or didn't have any taste at all, for instance my California Turkey burger (even the bacon was tasteless) so I would say I would return but definitely only order apps and drinks the next time around. Went there on a Sunday for lunch. The place was not busy at all. The (only) good news, "some" of the food was not bad. They wanted to stuff 4 full sized adults in a booth made for 2. We asked to move. They moved us to "the forgotten zone". Which we then promptly were. At the 30 minute mark is when we received our (incorrect) drinks. From there; incorrect orders, forgotten, food late, you name it. Manager came by once because she knew it didn't start off well. In the end, we were there over 2 hours for a lunch that should have been no more than one hour. Spoke to manager on way out. She "appeared" concerned but wasn't overly concerned with wether or not we'd be back. There is a private room on the side of the restaurant that has a window wall where you can watch passerby's go into the mall. And people watching is funny all in its own! For the food... delicious with healthy portions. Everyone in my group seems to really enjoyed their meals and could not wait to bring their family to enjoy a meal. My BLT I ordered today was plenty. The bread was very buttery (mental note...ask for no butter in my bread) but you can choose the bread; wheat, rye or white. The bacon was meaty and crispy. I'm not supposed to eat pork but I can't resist a good ole' BLT and this one of the best. My Caesar Salad was also good. Not too mayo-y (a made up word) or fishy. I always enjoy Maggie's. Never had anything bad there. Had the chicken parm this time and it did not disappoint!

Food came out incorrectly, TWICE! Ordered the teriyaki bowl w/ brown rice and noodles. The first time It came without sauce and noodles, also had white rice instead of brown. Waited SOOOO long before the waiter returned before I could even let him know the order was incorrect. He then said he's sorry and will go to the back and see what's going on (didn't take my food), didn't say anything else. As others in my party were just about done eating their meals, finally, he comes back again (without food!) to tell me- the noodles can be brought out, but they'll have to remake the whole meal if I want the brown rice. I told him I would like it remade and also let him know there is no sauce at all. Waited again for him to go inform the kitchen to remake it (which I was confused to why this wasn't done in the first place). After another long wait, my food FINALLY came out, just to only have noodles, bare minimum veggies and NO rice (looking way worse than the first time)! And guess what, the waiter did not bring the food (someone else did) and walked away so fast, so when our waiter finally came back again (after another long wait) I could tell him the food was wrong yet again. He just said sorry and that's all. I had to ask him to take the food back and just remove it from the bill. In between all of that, we never got one refill and had to ask for the bill! The menu for this place is HUGE! For the indecisive people that never know what they want to eat that will suck, but for people who love variety it's awesome! My husband and I both had a taste for different foods He wanted Mexican, I wanted comfort food... this place satisfied both. I got the shepherds pie. It was different from what I'm used to and it didn't LOOK very appealing but it was pretty good. The service was just okay. Our waitress was training a new girl and it just wasn't working out in our favor. I ordered an appetizer and after waiting 15 mins she came and told us they didn't have any of what I ordered. Our food took really long which was weird because it was like 1pm on a Friday afternoon. My silverware was dirty. This was my first time here but my husband said his was dirty when he'd gone there with friends. So hopefully that isn't a regular occurrence.
