Tried this place out today it was ok. I ordered the slow braised short ribs, wait about 15 mins and they came back and told me they didn't have it so that was disappointing. So I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. The brisket was ok but fatty and chewy, a brisket sandwich at mission bbq is extremely better and 7 dollars less. This was my second trip here and sadly, my last. The first time was decent enough as the service was just ok, not bad, but not great. Additionally, the food was what one would expect for this type of establishment. The menu is huge and when you try to do 100 menu items, you can only do about 20 of them well. This last visit was a complete 180 from the first. After sitting there forever, (20 + minutes) our waitress finally showed up with waters and to take our drink orders. After the long wait we were ready to order so we did. A member of our party name a menu item wrong and after 15 minutes the waitress comes back to inquire about his order. I watched as she finally keyed in our order. An hour later the food shows up, and low and behold, the fries are ice cold. Not wanting to wait any longer, I choked them down. The real disappointment was in the turkey club sandwich. Imagine, 3 thick pieced of toasted bread with very lite mayo, 1 and I mean 1 thin slice of turkey, some crispy bacon, 2 very thin slices of tomato and 1 leaf of lettuce. This was without a doubt the worst club sandwich I have ever had. It was do unbelievably dry. 90% bread, 10% ingredients and certainly not worth the $12 price tag. Maggie McFly's is a great place to go if you're unsure what your taste buds are craving. They have an absolutely HUGE menu. They have a bit everything. A lot of the ingredients they use are from local places around Virginia which is cool. They have small bar bites that are on special for happy hour. Def a nice alternative to the normal appetizer menu. They also provide a good assortment of desserts also for the sweet eaters out there. The cocktails are pretty good nothing special. It can get a bit pricey if you come when it's not happy hour. read more

Came here for a friends birthday party we had 20 guests so they put us in a separate room. This place was huge, had an outdoor area with a fire pit, and a huge bar area and giant dinning area. The menu is HUGE! They literally have a dish for everyone. We order the O'Connor beer batter chicken fingers, cheeseburger, egg, bacon with fries. Girlfriend ordered crab cake sandwich with fries everything was delicious! All the guests ordered other apps that didn't last long enough to be passed around. Every dish was right and came out in a timely manner considering the size of the group. One of our friends ordered the s'mores for dessert and they actually brought out a mini fire pit to roast her marshmallows. It was the coolest thing I ever seen. I ordered the red velvet cupcake sorry I didn't take a picture but that was the best red velvet cupcake I ever had. Hubby And I ate here for Valentine's Day dinner. The restaurant was busy but we were seated right away and the staff was all great. The tables were a little close together for my liking. Came with my family, 2 adults 2 kids, on a Saturday night. Some friends of my wife and I have said they love the place so even though it's a chain we decided to give it a shot. We got say right away, music was pretty overwhelming but w/e it's a social spot. Noticed the twin adult menus weighed the same as our hostess. The thing is a book. About 1/3 of it is drinks, the rest is entirely too many options. I liked that the kids menu had more than just the same 5 things as every other restaurant, but with the regular menu... no. I think Gordon Ramsey says on his show something like... if you have 30 things on a menu you'll be able to do 3 well. That showed. The biggest issue my wife and i had was that the place doesn't follow the typical pick your sides format, sure i could ask to substitute... but i hate doing that. Once again that's on my preferences not the restaurant. I decided on the southern fried chicken, my wife the fried seafood platter, the kids both got fillet medallions. It was busy so the food took a little longer you come out, not horrible though. My food and my son's arrived, then after a few minutes someone else's food was brought, then another few minutes my wife and daughter's. My daughter's came with the wrong side, she hates rice and wanted mashed potatoes, which was what it normally came with... so.. why the change? My chicken fried chicken tasted like Tyson frozen patties, the roasted corn salad (or more accurately, just corn with chunks of zucchini in it) was bland, and the mashed potatoes were dry and semi solid. I'm and engineer, i could have built a pretty skid structure out of these potatoes. My daughter's were the exact same. My wife's fried seafood was bland, not something you get away with in the Chesapeake Bay area. Her fried shrimp was over cooked to the point that it was tougher than my chicken or the kids' steak. Like chewing pieces of breaded rubber. We were discussing how disappointing the meal was turning out when the manager did his "how are you folks doing?" My wife suddenly put her napkin over her face and i gave the guy the thumbs up to get him to leave. Wife informs me the guy has breath so bad she almost gagged to the point of throwing up. Mind you, as parents we've changed a lot of dirty diapers... so this must have been bad. Our waitress, Carly, was fantastic though, even though it was busy she was on top of our drinks and patiently put up with our qualms with the kitchen's screw ups. Not my first time because they are in Connecticut but my first time here at Lynnhaven. The menu is just as massive. Sat at the bar and had Dee for my bartender, she was AWESOME. Very friendly and when I did order my food, she kept me posted on when it was coming out and made sure to ask if I wanted another drink. I ordered the soft pretzel bun burger and it was delicious. Lynnhaven Mall needed a place like this and I was happy to hear from Dee that on Monday's (I think that is the day), they offer the Military and their families a discount. Since this is a Military area, we have to support our troops and their families. I wish more places honored the military both active and retired. Stopped here on accident and was pleasantly surprised. My wife, 2 kids and I had lunch today - cup of chowder, philly steak sandwich, kid's quesadilla, and jambalaya. I love their nachos without meat and hubby loves their chicken Caesar salad believe it or not! Portions are pretty big! Very cool, hip hangout especially for happy hours. They promote local beer and local ingredients for their dishes. It's difficult to tell from pictures and the address, but it's just right off the main mall entrance, (north of the main entrance connected to the mall but entrance is outside of mall). Crowded on weekends, so plan on waiting about 15-20 minutes even if they say 30 minutes, it's usually quicker. The menu is like the phone book. You can find almost anything you'd be in the mood for both alcohol and food. Ready for this? They have Mexican, Asian, Italian, seafood, pizza, burgers, salads, bar food, appetizers, desserts, entrees including steak, fish, crab, lobster, sushi.... What else? Dim sum... Shepherds pie, .... Seriously, there is no more excuses for the friends that are picky. If anything, don't bring anybody who's indecisive because this would be their worst nightmare. I tried the sushi salad, fried eggplant, fried ravioli, pretzel, and beer flights. It was all good stuff. It definitely gets expensive so those that love to try this and that will rack up a bill. Service was fantastic, even though it's busy, they have plenty of staff. And our waitress was fantastic. Booths, bar, flat screens, full bar, it's so easy to spend money but it's a great place to indulge. Great for parties, groups, special occasions, or happy hours. The staff seemed quite discombobulated by a party of 9 and had a debate on who was taking us to our seats and where we could be seated. We arrived @ 12:15 and didn't get our food until @ 1:10. Yes we had a party of 9 but most ordered from the lunch menu and those who did not, didn't order anything that would take long to prepare. I asked for our checks twice before our food arrived so we could just pay ahead of time and leave after finishing our meal. I initially asked the waiter and didn't see him for s while so then asked the manager again @ 12:55. And specifically told him we were on our lunch break and would like to go ahead and pay for our meals so we could leave as soon as we were finished. Food arrived @1:10 And no checks. We didn't receive them until we were finished with our meal. On top of that, the waiter had to reverify our orders to ring them in separately. Finally received our checks, it is now 1:41. We are still waiting to get our receipts. Could have been on our way back to work now if the waiter wasn't clearing dishes from our table before picking up our checks so we could get the hell out of there. I don't usually write reviews. Went to Maggie McFly's with wife for a quick meal. The server was very good but everything else was horrible. I counted 12 people in there when we arrived and most had drinks and food. Waited 10 minutes to receive a beer and margarita. Order two hamburgers from there menu. Waited as other customers arrived and got drinks and appetizers. Still waiting on 2 hamburgers and fries. After 30 minutes of waiting, after we had waited a further 10 minutes for drinks. I gave my server my card and asked for the bill. I had waited long enough and had been told 3 times that she had asked the cooks and they responded with be out soon. Server came back, without my card or bill and said manager was taking care of it. I asked to see the manage, he presented a bill for 74 dollars. I said I refuse to pay for food that I did not receive, the hamburgers. He said you don't want them, and I said it has been over a half hour since I ordered them, no I do not want them. He said he would take care of it. He went back and 10 minutes later he presented me with my card and a receipt for 0.00. I stated, "I better not see this taken from my bank account". He said no it won't appear. I paid with a debit card and sure enough I was debited 74.00. The server was okay, and I did tip her out of pocket. Manager and cooks were clueless. I had been there before and it was adequate and food good. I will not return, and I will advise my friends that it is no longer an adequate Restuarant. I heard allot about Maggie McFly's and thought we'd try it. Went on Sunday for Father's Day and to be honest being avid foodies we couldn't have been more disappointed. First off it was 9:00 pm and only 3 other tables occupied. They didn't close until midnight and the servers were actively loudly breaking down and cleaning around us which was annoying. When we were seated we weren't sure what we wanted to drink so ordered water with lemon to start.....um they were out of lemons. Ordered sweet tea and they didn't have any sugar....hmmmmm off to a horrible start, that should have been our first clue to leave but we decided to stay and we were both very hungry. Our waitress Giovanna offered us the $4 appetizer menu which should have started at 10pm which was very nice but a huge mistake, I ordered crab puffs for my fiancé , steak and chicken skewers, Tex-Mex egg rolls and he French Country Salad, my fiancé ordered the bacon egg burger and I specifically asked for his burger to be medium and the egg to be fried over easy with a runny yoke....well Giovanna came to the table and let us know they were out of crab puffs and what else I would like, I ordered the cheeseburger sliders because at this point we were over it. I asked for all the food to come out together and n endless to say it came out in stages, I don't like to have my food any my fiancé wait, Giovanna came to the table with our crab puffs and I asked where these come from and she let us know the cook just didn't want to make them...wow really? We ordered the spinach dip. It was mediocre, as it was served to us lukewarm. For our main dish, we both order the crab cake dinners. It was really disgusting. It tasted as if it had more breading than anything in it & it wasn't cooked thoroughly. During this experience, we never were asked if we needed refills, we had to ask 5 times for napkins, because they never brought them when we asked when then brought out our appetizer. best thing was my sister's fries that she got with her meal. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A REVIEW THAT I POSTED ON 7/25/2018...when I was so turned off by the service my family and I had received from one person in particular, that I vowed to never come back again. So a few weeks ago (Wed, Oct 6th to be exact), my wife got off early from work (she's a nurse and works loooong hours) and we decided to go out to dinner somewhere but we weren't sure where we wanted to go. After some thought, somehow Maggie McFly's came up and I immediately shut that idea down based on my previous experience there with the waitress at the time. However, I figured it's been over 3 years now so I very reluctantly decided to give them another chance. And I'm SO glad I did! If you read my last review in 2018, my ONLY complaint was the treatment we received from the waitress...the food, cleanliness, atmosphere, everything was, and still is amazing. This time around however, the SERVICE we received from our waitress (Tatiana) was AMAZING as well! From beginning to end my wife and I felt an immediate sense of positive energy from her. She made us feel welcomed and was extremely attentive and friendly. My wife was a waitress in college so she's able to pick up on things from the waitstaff (good and bad) when we go out to eat...and she commented several times on how amazing Tatiana was. I can honestly say that I don't think there was any room for improvement from this young lady. It felt very genuine too...you can tell when someone's being fake nice...not Tatiana...she just seems to be an overall great, happy person. Even with a mask on, we could feel her smiling through her eyes. Needless to say, I have done a complete 180 now. Maggie McFly's is now one of my favorite places to eat. As a matter of fact, my parents and I went there today for lunch! And guess who was our waitress. It was Tatiana! She remembered me and was so nice to me and my parents. Friendly, prompt, welcoming, and most importantly, made us all feel appreciated and wanting to come back. I hope Maggie McFly's knows what an asset she is over there.
