We are going to give it some time and probably try again but we were disappointed. They actually did a good job building out the space and adding some great outdoor seating. But when we walked in no one was seating people and we wondered around until someone approached us and asked if we want inside our outside seating. We chose outdoor but quickly realized no one was serving those tables, either in breaks or no staff. Finally someone took out order. Fish and chips and Philly cheese. Disappointed by both. Husband said Philly had a weird after taste and the fish seemed it was frozen fish sir-fried because the outside was not crispy and their was water residue in the bottom of the basket not oil. Yet another person had brought us our food and he was checking in on us. Took several requests for a side of mayo. Again another person checked if everything was ok and then the original person that took our order brought us our check after the one checking in on us couldn't work the equipment to get our check. Seems staff was co fused in who was to take which table and how to use the equipment. So we will wait to see if more training and experience improves the service. Hoping also that they expand their menu and add some appetizers which we would have ordered and prolonged our experience meaning more drinks. Time will tell. read more

Random walk in to the soft opening. Place was at full capacity. We saw an available table and sat down. Server brought us menus, we ordered food and some delicious draft beers for 2.50 a pop. Was a hectic opening vibe but our experience was smooth. My husband and I were big fans of Tin Horn Flats before it went to pot not long BEFORE Covid. We visited this restaurant yesterday, and loved what the space has been turned into, definitely more customer friendly! Our server, Trish was very friendly and very outgoing. She regularly visited to make sure we had everything we needed, and answer questions. We suggested adding a taco plate to the menu, and she explained there is potentially going to be a taco Tuesday night, which sounded like a good plan (especially if traditional Al pastor is served!). In terms of the menu, it would definitely be nice to see more options - especially appetizers and small bites, but our food was good and the drinks as well. Feel bad writing this but I was expecting way better tasing food for $20 a burger. Our burgers were bland and super dry, Philly streak was just not it & I was looking forward to the sweet potato fries but they were just bland To top it off they didn't have a kids menu, my 2 year old only eats a patty w/cheese so I asked if I was able to get it like that . But imagine the surprise on my face when I was still charged a whole $20 for a piece of meat w/cheese( no buns or anything ) + some fries b/c the waitress said it came with it Service was good I can't complain about that . I have been to Magnolia Corner 3 times in the few months and cannot say that have any desire to go back! Location is decent and the staff is friendly, but the food is not good! Every time, people in my group have complained the next day about it not agreeing with them. This last time I could not finish the food and had to send it back, they offered a small discount instead of taking it off the bill. read more

What a gem of a place! Immediately upon walking in there was production happening with a film crew but the workers were still so attentive. The owner, Steve saw we were trying to navigate through. He sat us and brought menus. Minutes later another server came and we told her we needed a few minutes. A few minutes after that another server came to check in on us. Went to visit this place on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy but there was a good vibe. So we started it out by ordering a drink at the bar and found ourselves a table. Ordered a few appetizers and after about an hour our food had not arrived. Also our waitress never returned to at least ask if we wanted another drink. I had to wave her down and informed her that we had been waiting for about an hour. Her response was "So has everyone else ". I told her to cancel our order and left. Been here a few times now. The food is way too overpriced and the taste doesn't make up for it. The taco deal they do is good-but any of menu item I've tried are greasy and lack flavor. The drinks are hit or miss. Twice I've ordered a mojito from here and one was good the other was not. Guess it depends who's working. My husband, myself and another couple went to Magnolia Corner a few weeks back right after it opened. It was great! The atmosphere is fun with swinging saloon doors at the entrance. The food was yummy. We all tried something different so that we could try out a variety of dishes. They were all good.
