I tried Yummy Thai for the first time today. I ordered takeout through the Eat24 app and my food was waiting for me 15 mins later when I arrived. My first impressions of the takeout container were a bit disappointing. I normally get my Thai food from Noodle Swing about 2 miles down the road. They use the 3 bin typical styrofoam container and fill it to the brim. The container waiting for me was half the size. My order was for medium Basil fried rice with Chicken. As I had ordered from the lunch special it came with a choice of 2 fried tofu, crispy veggie spring roll, 2 spring rolls, or 2 Crab rangoon. I chose the Rangoon. I was excited about the Rangoon as they are usually delicious. These were tasty, but were almost empty of any filling. :( After the brief and unfulfilling Rangoons, I moved onto the Fried rice. This was delicious! The medium heat was a perfect spice level for me. The chicken was juicy and the flavors were great. I would say that the basil fried rice was just as good as Noodle Swing, but the portion size left me still hungry. The Rangoon would have been great if they had proper filling. Apparently, if you eat inside the restaurant, you get a soup of the day with your meal. That may have satisfied my hunger. Noodle Swing gives you soup or salad with their take out lunch special. The order before tax was $8.99. At Noodle Swing it is $7.95, you get a larger portion, egg roll and soup or salad. The choice for me in the future is obvious. I am giving Yummy Thai a 3 star rating based on proportions and price, but the flavors are a solid 4. read more

I heard great review about the place. So I was excited to dine here. My wife and i have been sitting here for 2 hours. We tried to flag the waiters for status of our meal , to no avail. At some point, they avoided passing by our table. They completely forgot about our drinks and wife dinner. We just sat through the evening sharing one plate and appetizers. Didn't acknowledge us even when giving our receipt. Horrible service and I usually don't write bad reviews but this has to be known so the management can do something about it. read more

Horrible service!!!!! This rude server name Fran has an attitude towards us from the beginning. We waited for our food forever but what's funny was the minute my husband went up there to ask it magically appeared. Apparently, it's just been sitting there for a while. We get home and started opening up everything and it was so disappointing because it just didn't look good. We ate it because we were hungry but if we had the choice we would have gone anywhere but there. $45 for some noodles, fried egg roll and vegetable soup with a couple of greenery in it. Finally, a good Thai restaurant in Flower Mound. We happened to go the same day as the Grand Opening and were treated to live music and 30% off our bill. I had Paneng Curry, loved it! I asked what medium spicy is, waiter suggested #2. It was perfect! Hubby had Chiclen Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup. His only problem was the amount of onions in soup. Next time we'll just ask for onions to be omitted. He loved the Pad Thai. I want to go back during lunch sometime . $8.99 for soup, appetizer, and entree. Update: We've been back 3 more times now. The food is still great. Unfortunately, the service is not. We will probably just order to go from now on. read more

Nice restaurant but ho-hum food. I was excited to have Thai night as my husband was out of town and I was alone. I came in and was immediately seated and someone came over to get a drink order. Very very nice... two people that actually attended to me. I started with crab Rangoon and it wasn't prepared my favorite way but it was still good. I like them real crunchy with creamy in the middle - these were like little purses with very creamy, rich crab stuff inside. They had a different sauce rather than regular sweet and sour sauce which may have thrown me a little also because I love S&S sauce. I ordered the red curry per my servers recommendation and some hot and sour soup. I ordered medium heat. The red curry was just not flavorful... it was just really missing the wonderful Thai flavors. I do not cook Thai so I couldn't say what it was but I did ask for some limes which they brought over but it may have brightened the flavor a bit but it just was bland. The soup was very good and I would probably get it again. I probably will not go back to this place even though they were very nice because the food just was bland and there are so many Thai places near me that I have so much to choose from and I hope this doesn't turn out to be the best if so I will for sure come back and probably update my review a little. read more

We tried Yummy Thai for the first time recently, despite the 3.5 stars average. I think that assessment is about right. Their vegetable entree is good, crab Rangoon is good ...but we didn't love the Spring rolls (too heavy for Spring rolls). Their customer service and price are right so we will likely give it another try. Next time I will try their chicken pad Thai! read more

Amazing! We've been driving to Irving for yellow curry and now we don't have to. Their yellow curry is really really good. Flavorful and creamy! However, the tofu is squishy. I've had it both ways and I prefer a firmer tofu in mine so I'll probably order vegetable yellow curry next time. The tofu in the pad Thai though is perfect!! Fried tofu with great firm texture. The pad Thai itself is also really yummy. I got mild and it was still pretty spicy so keep that in mind. It's a darker sauce kind of pad Thai instead of the lighter version but it's still good and not greasy/heavy. I wasn't a huge fan of the veggie rolls but they were still ok. read more

Having grown up in Flower Mound, I've typically known what restaurants I like and don't like. But my favorite Chinese restaurant recently closed so my family has been on the hunt for different Asian restaurants in town. Yummy Thai is new go to! The location is easily accessible. Inside the restaurant, it was clear they had some cute decorations. They did have some cleaning supplies out and the counter was pretty messy so we were a bit hesitant initially. But the food is GOOD! It's easy to order online and take out. The crab rangoons are very tasty. They are small though so if you like them, get multiple orders! All of us liked our food. The chicken is juicy and has a lot of flavor. The amount of food for the cost is standard. Their mild spice level is a bit spicy for folks who have low spice standards. Take-out, first try Pleasantly surprised Tried the crab Rangoon, mini egg rolls and chicken paneng curry. All were fantastic. Ordered spicy level 2 which was Meduim and perfect for me. Just the right amount of heat to give a little sweat but not too much. Menu is extensive which always raises a flag for me as I would rather see focus. Look forward to trying more. read more

My wife and I were running errands and stopped off here for a bite. She had been here once and recommended it. She had pad Thai I had the chicken fried rice level 5. I was told it would be hot. I ended up adding chili oil to mine and soy because the rice was a little bland. So why the 4? My wife enjoyed what she had both times. I tasted her dish and it was great. I will be back to try something different next time. I am sure they will do better. read more

The best Thai food in Denton County!! I always see people from Thailand eating here so you know it's authentic and delicious!! This place is spot on with their flavors, right up there with Jitlada in LA. I have a very healthy respect for what they call spicy. The Tom Yum Kung is amazing and love their spicy beef salad. Yummy Thai is probably the best Thai spot in Flower Mound that we have had. The food was on point and spicy just like we liked it. They give generous portions from the currys, to the rice dishes, and other specialty items. They did mess up our order but were very kind to make it right by letting us keep the wrong items and provide us the right items at no additional charge. Good food when I've gone in person but the last two times I've tried to order for delivery, there have been issues. Each time, I placed an order during business hours, they confirmed the order, and then 30-40 minutes later cancel the order without any reasoning. If you are unable to fulfill the order through delivery services, then you should not be available on the service. read more

Best Thai food in Flower Mound! The Thai Basil Crispy Pork Belly is freaking amazing! Try it!

We went for the first time for dinner with kids. Everything came out fast. The vegetable curry puffs were cold inside and had a hair. Out of the I already ate one and the hair one was in my kids' plate. We complained, they took it back, brought another one and still cold from inside. The server said if we would like to try something else, sure, we asked for crispy vegetarian rolls. The main course came and the kids rice has 2 hairs and big in size this time. We complained, they took the rice back but this time the server is screaming in her native language to the kitchen stuff, pretty sure she was talking about us. We asked for check and saw that she waived off the curry puffs but still charged for the rice. Another server who had seated us came by and I asked if we should be paying for the rice, she said no. She does back and the new receipt has rice taken off but the curry puffs added back. I was surprised. She told us that they have cameras and all their chefs wear hair caps. I told her to bring the rice back so I can take a picture, she said she already dumped them which I never asked her to because she was supposed to show it to kitchen only and not in trash. Then she said we have to cover our expenses and blah-blah. We told her that we are never coming back and she still kept making our fun in her native language with her other staff. I called Town and asked them to conduct a health inspection. I also read a comment from another uses who found a dead roach in his diet coke. I will never go back to such a filthy place. Our first visit here was great! Good service, good food! Good prices. The crab Rangoon is awesome. The tiger steak is also a great option! Our second visit, service and pricing was good but my dish was less than ideal. I ordered the clay noodle pot with beef, they brought it out with seafood. I asked them to correct it and spent about 10 minutes having to prove myself that beef is an option in the dish? They brought it back and I still found seafood in the dish so obviously they just scraped it off and put beef on top. Fine for me, but heed with caution for any food allergen visitors. I ordered Pad See Ew and Grilled Chicken and it was great! The restaurant takes time to package the order very nicely. If you put notes in the section they take time to read them which is nice. For the name Yummy Thai, this place delivers. Delish! We had the pad Thai with chicken and the beef fried rice. Both were really good and tasted very fresh. The service was great. The waitresses were friendly, they took our orders and the food came out right away. The drink sizes here are huge! Food was reasonably priced for the size. I split the pad Thai with my mom. I think the plate was about $10. We both left with full bellies. My only complaint - the smell when you walk into the restaurant is kind of off putting. It's like extreme scented candle mixed with Thai. Kinda yuck. Otherwise, it's delicious. I'm so glad it's close to home. read more
