She Crab Soup was excellent and would have been happy if I had JUST ordered that. This place is a hot mess! This was our first time there and we will NOT be going back. I think the whole staff needs training in service, basic hospitality and especially in cleaning. I think the staff doesn't respect management but probably because they are not up to par. Here are the reasons why I say this. First we sat down and ordered drinks but the drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. My husband ordered a $38 dollar margarita because it said on the menu it came with tejin on the rim. Iy came with no tejin, so he asked about it, only to be told they don't have any tejin. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, I looked at the wall next to our table to see mold all along the bottom of the wall. See the picture. My husband got up to use the restroom to see they looked like they weren't serviced all night. We finally got our order after waiting 40 minutes. We ordered sushi rolls, fried rice and Rockefeller oysters, which we never got the oysters. The fried rice looked like it hadn't been fried at all. It looked like mushy rice. See picture. We asked the manager about the fried rice and he said no, it's not fried rice. He came back and said the cooks wouldn't make the fried rice for him. WTH isn't he the manager, no respect. We waited over an hour for 2 rolls. The 3 tables next to us were served their rolls first. When we finally received our order it had a giant long black hair on the roll. But am here in vacation (reverse of many people (lol)) and decided to see if it still packs a punch and it didn't disappoint. blacked tuna was full of Flavor as it is topped with lemon aioli, peppers and is the perfect balance. My friend enjoyed her filet and said it was cooked perfectly . It is worth the money spent . Oh and I forgot, I got the key lime to go. The way it is made here....... Orgasmic ! Freedom feels good on the boardwalk - freedom to dine out finally! Hubby and I popped in on a Saturday early afternoon. We had the option to dine inside or outside, and moderate temperatures allowed for a comfortable outside dining experience. I always love to eat out on the boardwalk and watch the foot traffic. Celebrating a short stint of being baby free, we ordered drinks from our server, who was excellent through our entire meal. I opted for a key lime crush, which tasted like summer in a cup. Definitely like liquid key lime pie. Hubby had a cold draft beer from a local brewery. We ordered our entrees which didn't take very long to arrive. He had the crab cake sandwich and the crab cake itself had good flavor, but he said the sandwich was a little blah. I had the Caesar with added grilled chicken. One other time I've had a Caesar salad served to me as a head of lettuce cut in half. I don't know if this is considered the "fancy" way to do it, but if I'm paying an inflated amount for lettuce, a cheese chip and chicken, I kind of expect you to do the work for me. The service and drinks were really good, but the food is overpriced for what you get. I really miss the less pretentious Mahi Mah's. I'll probably go back at some point for the drinks and sushi, but it likely won't be anytime soon. read more

Not worth your money. First off, we put our name and number on the list with the host and she never called/texted. We ended up at the bar where the bartender spoke to us about 2 times. A different bartender noticed we hadn't had anything in a while and told us he would go check on our food. He returned with the entirety of our meal, appetizers and entrees. Dropped by for drinks and apps; and was surprised at the renovation. Great redesign. While we enjoyed the old, the fresh look upscaled the look. And if memory serves, they presented a fresh new menu as well. The crab dip was very rich but oh so tasty. What the heck; sometimes you have to just splurge. We doubled down with a sushi roll for the sharing as well. Spinach salad was fresh and an ample portion. Adding a nice portion of salmon made for a perfect size meal without feeling stuffed like a crab. Drinks were good too. Discounted that evening for well drinks and the special cocktails were great too. Weekday evening was less crowded than weekends or beach season. For an appetizer, we ordered several sushi rolls - all of which were delicious and not overly filled with rice. The fish was bright & tasted fresh. The tuna stack was a very large helping. It could definitely be shared & was advertised accurately as being spicy. Another at the table ordered the Asian salad with salmon on top. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it paired well with the Asian ginger salad dressing. Others at the table ordered burgers & all had feedback that they were good. The truffle fries were delicious as well & are a must. Staff was superb. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and offered informative recommendations. If I could give negative five stars I would for this restaurant. After signing up for a table for two, they told us would be about 39 minutes. After over an hour we still didn't get called so we approached the hostess desk again and no one seems to know what was going on but finally someone seated us. The it took another 20 minutes before anyone showed up at the table. Wanted to order a beer and it took them another 20 minutes to look for a beer list which they never found. So we ordered a random bee and 20 more minutes later the beer arrived. We felt like we were invisible. No one seemed to care. It was also extremely noisy. We paid for the beer and left. One of the most awful restaurant experiences we have ever had. Needless to say we will never go back. We visited a few weeks after Phase 1 started, so the patio was open at 50% capacity but no indoor seating was allowed. People were being turned away because all the tables under the covered patio were taken and it had just rained. Rather than wait, and because we had already biked there and were a bit soggy anyway, we decided we'd risk another rain storm and sit at an uncovered table. The hostess seemed very appreciative. We had the cactus margarita and one of the crushes for drinks - very delicious. Then we had the Mahi signature salad, which was one of the most beautiful salads I've ever seen. Blue cheese dressing made in house and very blue cheese-y and yummy. My partner had a sandwich and I had the sushi platter - both were very good. Our waiter was very charismatic and knowledgeable - seemed happy to be back at work. We saw the new renovation when we went to the bathrooms and it's beautiful inside. Let me state that years ago we use to frequently hang-out at bar sharing a few drinks with our beach friends, watching football, basketball, listen to musical groups, etc., and just socialize and occasionally eat at this restaurant back in the day when it was Mahi Mai's, and this our first visit since it was re-established. Very nice renovations, although it felt like it has lost its beachy -type atmosphere. It use to cater to party people looking to come off beach and have a few drinks and appetizers with friends and was always packed. Four of us visited for dinner on Valentines eve and restaurant was very sparse with clients; empty seats and tables everywhere. We all felt what we had ordered was good but extremely pricey for what we received; I could have received a conquerable chicken sandwich at Chic-Fil-A for a third the price. The service was the one issue that will keep us from returning. When I asked the waitress that served us what my alternative to french-fries was, she mentioned several items, one being truffle-fries which she suggested and which I chose, which tasted just like regular fries. What she didn't mention however, was that there was a $5.00 up-charge for that selection I had made; I found that out when I was presented with the Bill. I mentioned this surprise charge to her and she said "Sorry 'bout that." Under my breath I thought the same with the indignity of her response, although I tipped her as though she had not said that. (Originally she had presented the wrong Bill to us reflecting some carelessness, but nothing that would deter us from re-visiting.) Also, our Bill had indicated 2 price options, one for paying with cash, and another increased over $5.00 for paying with a Card. Had I known this beforehand I would have brought cash as I know that in reality lower Credit Card service charges are applied and they don't need to make additional profit on that also. Another surprise! Finally, their suggested tip amounts are not just based upon the costs of food and beverage items served, but included the TAX amount as well. We did ask for the manager to get some thing else and the manager discussed with us that the crabcakes will not be taken off the bill. but instead we will be getting getting 50% off even though we did not like them. Not only do I think this is poor customer service, but client retention will be lower due to this. He tried to blame it on the owner but later found out this was a new rule that the manager now implemented. very dissatisfied with the service. If you obviously do not like some thing that you order there, be prepared to pay for it even if you do get the manager. Went here for my kids 20th birthday dinner. The food was awful. He got the gnocchi and it was burnt. It was so bad he didn't even want anything else. The sushi was mediocre at best. $9 for a spicy tuna roll that could've been had at any other sushi place in town for $4.5. The quality wasn't good. The tuna was a bit fishy. Oh and there was the $20 six piece sushi roll that was terrible. The drinks we bought were weak and mostly juice. The oysters were a joke. They were so bad and small, had it been my business I would've come to the table and told us that the oysters were so small and not worth serving and offer something else. We had a kid with us who got the burger and fries and took 2 bites and said it was terrible. Kids will eat anything. That's what you're dealing with here. This is a prime example of a hotel spot at the oceanfront not giving a care in the world about the quality of food because they shovel and peddle this garbage to unsuspecting tourists in the summer. Just shut your doors in the winter and keep peddling this crap to tourists in the summer, otherwise you'll end up with a bunch of crap reviews from locals. Just a bad experience over all and not what you expect when spending damn near $600 on dinner. On a positive note, our waitress Michele was AMAZING. Seriously top notch. Mahi's has been around the Oceanfront for as long as I remember but I have never stepped foot inside. To me, it feels and looks like a tourist trap for the out of towners. While walking by Mahi's just recently, I noticed that they renovated the outdoor area beautifully which piqued my interest. Maybe it is time to check this place out. They are known for their sushi and seafood offerings and the prices are on the high side. We decided to come in early and check out their brunch. We entered through Pacific side and was seated outdoors promptly. The interior felt clean and comfortable and the renovated outdoor area was nice to look at. Breakfast with the beach view is definitely worth having! We ordered the Breakfast Burger and the All American Breakfast and it came out fairly quickly. It was pretty expensive for the food and it honestly underwhelmed. The burger was just okay, nothing special. The All American breakfast was the same way with nothing really unique about it. The only good thing was the home fries which was seasoned and cooked well. The biscuit was on the dry side and the waiter didn't even offer any condiments or jelly. I had to request them myself. Mahi's is indeed a tourist trap and the prices do NOT justify the amount of food and flavor of the food. I really wanted to like Mahi's as the restaurant itself looked appealing and worth the extra bucks you will shell out. It was not worth it. To be honest, I just don't see myself returning here for lunch or dinner. read more

He wanted to argue with me. After dismissing him, as nothing was offered, not even an apology, they lost a restaurant customer and potential Hilton Double Tree hotel customer.
