For starters we got seated at a table that was extremely wobbly and annoying. The table had glasses and silverware on it already. Both of our glasses had someone's leftover lipstick on them, we had to ask the waitress for new ones. Every table is provided with a glass bottle of cold water. Our bottle has algae on the inside of it. This ruined our whole appetite. We had to ask the waitress for different water and this is when she started to get annoyed with us. My favorite place!! We visited here in summer 21' and were looking forward to return this summer! We decided to stay in The Doubletree by Hilton, where Mahi's is conveniently located in! Safe to say we made it to breakfast here daily & enjoyed a nice dinner here on our last day! The service is top notch! From the servers, food runners, bussers, & management, everyone was very pleasant and kind. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything is so fresh & full of flavor! Loved everything about this place except they don't take reservations and the wait was over an hour on a Wednesday! BUT it was so worth the wait! We grabbed a couple drinks from the bar and sat outside and watched the waves and people watched! Made the hour go by so fast! The inside is so bright and has a lot of natural light! Love the aesthetic!! Lots and lots of drink options. The spicy marg for two came in a fun little glass! The wine pours are very generous! And lots of beer options. We split a lot of sushi rolls (Florida orange roll was by far my fave. Soo fresh and light tasting) the tsunami roll was also so delish!! If you get the fish and chips... there is a lot of fish that comes with it! Same with any of the pastas :) There wasn't a bad meal had at the table! And we have a little one that has a peanut allergy and they were very accommodating. Lastly, despite how busy they were all the employees were so nice and actually enjoyed being there! I absolutely love Mahi's I've been coming here since I was a preteen and I love the renovations and it's bit more upscale which is nice to see. The food was amazing my boyfriend had the lobster tail and I had the seafood pasta we also had oyster Rockefeller and the crab dip with shrimp but unfortunately that was demolished before I could snap a picture. We have been longtime customers of the original Mahi Mah's. It was our favorite place in Virginia Beach. Today, we are trying the "new" Mahi's which I understand is under new management. The restaurant has been totally renovated and looks great. Sadly, we were seated at a small table between two columns at the window. What passes for chairs are built in wooden boxes. We don't even have our appetizers yet, and my butt already hurts. It is just flat wood with no contours and no cushion. What are they thinking? All the chairs are cushioned. This seating would be better at McDonald's than what is supposed to be a good restaurant. I asked to be seated elsewhere and they apologized and put us at a table with very comfortable chairs. Hint . . . cushions for those window seats, or don't seat old, arthritic people, there. We started with the scallop risotto with soft shell crab. My wife and I shared it. It was delicious. We both ordered seafood pasta. Forget about the uncomfortable window seats! This dinner was incredible! I'll miss the old Mahi Mah's with their great happy hour prices on oysters on the half shell, but I highly approve of this change It was an outstanding dinner which we both enjoyed! read more

Craving some decent seafood we gave this place a try and, as requested, were seated outdoors. I ordered the Mahi House Salad and the Mahi Signature Mahi. My salad was very good as the sesame ginger dressing was very tasty. The Mahi was a tad dry and hard, but that was well made up for by the lobster, lobster cream sauce, yuzu caviar, and mushroom rice pilaf that all complemented each other very well and made for a very tasty and filling meal. Our waitress was a young French girl who was very positive, upbeat, and friendly. She even complimented me on my badly broken French and, even if she was totally blowing smoke up my rear, I very much appreciate her engaging me and my feeble attempts. She also conversed with my friends as well and took an interest in speaking with us. Oh and how could I forget that lovely mango mocktail with basil leaves. Why did they change the name from Mahi Mahi's.... Oh well. We ate here a few times this trip Bc we were staying in the hotel and this was basically the only place I could find outside seating. My kids are young and not vaccinated so I wanted to stay outside for meals as much as possible. We ordered dinner the first night to go because we couldn't find anywhere to eat outside with a party of 6. We ordered crushes to drink while waiting for the food and those took pretty long to get considering it was just 2 drinks. The dinner was good though (I had scallops). Breakfast was good and again we all sat outside. The service was much better for breakfast. The view is really nice outside on the boardwalk also. read more

i like the remodel of the restaurant from the prior tenant in this space. Nice bar. Bright, modern feel. I was disappointed that they were out of mahi and salmon when I visited. It was 10pm, so I guess that's on me if the best items sell out early. Ordered blackened tuna tacos instead. They looked good, but the seasoning was WAAAY too salty. Honestly, ridiculously salty. I'll try Mahi's again because I want to like it, but this visit wasn't what I was looking forward to. EDIT: The server never asked how I liked everything. If I was asked, I'd have been honest. Approximately by around 10 hours ago (the purchase receipt reads 218pm on Saturday December 19) my husband, mother in law, and I ordered and enjoyed some food from the Mahi's seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach(near the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel). Sometime by late October 2020 I had purchased a promotion deal for this restaurant I had heard about listening to the radio and I wanted to utilize the deal before it expired on December 31 of this year. My husband ordered the ribeye meal and greatly enjoyed his ribeye, my mother in law enjoyed her lobster mac and cheese, and I enjoyed the seafood pasta I selected which had shrimp and scallops among some of the food items in the pasta. Ok, let's talk about my amazing experience for a minute. From the moment I walked into their establishment there was this cool relaxing vibe. No wait on a Saturday. The hostess was attentive and immediately got me seated at a comfortable table. My waiter Chad (best waiter in VB, also a killer beard) created me with a smile, introduced himself, and gave me the specials/his favorite things on the menu. (Mind you I always ask at a new place what the staff recommends, so that saved an ask). Chad was quick to putting in my appetizer the Mahi Oysters (omg yum!) these were probably, in my almost 40 years of life the best oysters I've ever had. For my entree I ordered the "Chad recommended" diver scallops. This did not disappoint! Being in prior food service I pay attention to the little things including employee satisfaction, climate, and how fast the place is able to flip tables. All of these received high marks from me. I stayed for a while talking to other tables and just relaxing. And not once did I feel from the staff that there was a sense of urgency to leave. All I can say is keep up the great work from the leadership down. Keep putting out amazing food and people will return again and again. I honestly can't wait to go back again. Stopped in for happy hour 3-5 and it was great that you could sit anywhere. We tried 10.00 tuna nachos that were incredible, these are a must try!!! The 50% off sushi rolls was a deal and tried the hot crab dip of the regular menu and it was worth it.
