We went to this place the first time after having a bad experience at Conrad's. We walked out of Conrad's after being ignored by the staff. Mai Pearl was almost empty when we came in. The service was quick. The place is clean and well-kept. The food was better than most Chinese restaurants around so maybe this place just needs to get promoted or something for people to try.

Decided to give Mai Pearl a try. Was a bit worried when I didn't say anyone else in the restaurant other than two diners. Not a great sign, but figured I'd still give it a try. The sever was very friendly and attentive. He quickly grabbed my drink order and provided a menu. The menu is huge and ranges from sushi to classic Chinese dishes. I went with the house Lo-Mein. I was excited when it came out because it looked really good. Unfortunately, it was the total opposite. The noodles were undercooked, it had no flavor, and the noodles weren't the lomein noodles I'm used to (not a deal breaker). It was really the undercook on the noodles that made this dish unpleasant for me. It did seem like they had a good to-go business based on the multiple pick ups I saw. However, this place is not my cup of tea. They do have a large bar...so I would consider going back just for drinks.

I've been wanting to go for a while. A friend recently told me that on Friday nights they have musical bingo. So I said wow two of my favorites in one night. I went the last two Fridays and it's now going to be a regular occurrence. Not only is the food delicious but I've been very lucky winning bingo each week. Their combo plates are a generous portion, and they come with soup. Also for me when I see that lomein is included as well as the option of rice I get very excited. Most places charge extra for lomein which I hate. Lomein does not disappoint. One of the best. It is loaded with pork, onions and carrots, all in a dark sauce. The general Gau's is tasty and has the crispness that most places don't achieve. Also had the beef and broccoli. Beef was tender and not chewy. Broccoli had the perfect crisp. My mom got egg foo young which included two thick pieces and a darker gravy than the traditional brown one. She enjoyed very much and had another meal the next day. She also got the spicy string beans with lomein. Even though it is referred to as spicy, it was not overly spiced. We asked what they were marinated in and were told red pepper flakes and black bean sauce. Chicken wings are super crispy and not small. You get five in an order. Very clean and comfortable inside. All in all, if you haven't been you must go.

Best sushi anywhere and meticulously mastered drinks at the bar. Love this place although a little pricey.

When I saw the impressive average star rating of Hao on Yelp, I took it as a sign to give up on the traffic & treat myself to some sushi instead. I arrived just after they opened (around 4:50pm) & I had the restaurant to myself. It was clean, bright, & joyfully decorated. I was immediately struck with how cheerful & kind the server was. I felt like I had sat down in her home - that's how hospitable & familiar she felt. I asked for a bowl of miso soup to start, & it appeared in front of me in less than 3 minutes. It was warm, balanced, & the perfect appetizer. I moved on to some toro nigiri & their "crispy rice" appetizer (which was topped with spicy tuna, tobiko, honey miso, eel sauce, & fried seaweed.) The toro was spectacular. It was tender, fresh, & topped with a balanced little chutney situation that tasted a bit like wasabi. I don't like wasabi. I always opt out, if I can. But this little chutney was delicious! The crispy rice appetizer was spectacular & comforting as well. I could've eaten 2-3 more servings. I concluded my meal with an order of avocado & cucumber maki. It was rolled tightly & well balanced. A perfect, fresh roll. I'm so glad I stopped here! Dining in was a great choice. I felt welcomed & comfortable. Everything came out quickly, the sushi was incredible, & the service makes me want to sit in traffic again just to return. Enthusiastic 5/5 stars.

I loved that there were plenty of options, especially if you want more than one protein. The restaurant is spacious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff was really kind. I decided to give sushi another chance since it's never really been my thing, but... yeah, it's still not for me. So I don't think it's fair to judge the restaurant based on the California rolls because I'm definitely biased when it comes to sushi. The salad that came before the entrée was a solid 4/5, the filet mignon and shrimp hibachi were a 5/5, and the drinks were about a 3/5. Overall, I really enjoyed the hibachi and would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area and craving it. If you're a sushi lover, don't let my opinion stop you... my taste buds just haven't come around yet!
