I was excited to purchase this service as a birthday gift for my daughter. The staff is very friendly the cleaning lady they sent was not very thorough she did okay not great . I ended up redoing my daughters floors because she did not do a good job very nice lady just not good at maid service . I requested someone bring clean towels her towels were not clean. I don't have the energy to write all the things I want to say about this unethical company. Any positive reviews for this company has to come from friends. I booked a $450.00 for four (4) hours of post construction clean up. The scheduler promised that two exceptional & experienced cleaners would come. She said they speak English. She said they would arrive by 9:00AM, that I would be very happy with the work especially because the Young woman on the team is very knowledgeable and a hard worker. Two people arrived. They were neither young nor English speaking. I was stuck. I had to use them as I had people arriving in two days. Both of them went to each room and were supposed to be cleaning. Wouldn't you expect two people (at $450 an hour) to split up the tasks? They did not clean the i side of the window sills. DID NOT Clean the toilet seat DID NOT Clean behind the trash can DID NOT Put dishes away but left them in the dshwasher which they DID NOT run. A complete rip off.  I spoke to Lorraine and I l explained to her I was moving into my first home of purchased with my new baby and wanted it cleaned right. I told her alot of work had been done over the past year so there would be dirty and dust. She quoted me 8 hours and said if it took turn longer she would let me know. She explain that may not be enough time to everything plus the windows.  I said that's OK cleaning the inside is priority and if there's time left they can do the windows. She also said they might have a hard time cleaning the outside windows because of the bars, again I said no worries, they can just do their best, if there's time after the inside.She had told me she couldn't guarantee the screens if they were old, I told no worries I will be screening them later, if the rip no big deal. I wasn't able to be there when they started so I provided a code to a lock box with a key. She told me she would call me when they got there to let me know they had started. Day of: she called me at 9:15 claiming the crew had started at 7:20 and there was a broken window that was broken when they got there. (There were no broken window in my house, especially not in my baby's nursery!) She said they were probably going to need more time because they started cleaning the outside windows first and it took more time because of the bars. It was a part construction cleaning, why would you start outside. They literally cleaned part of the outside of 4 windows. They didn't even bother to take the screens off any windows they just didn't clean that part. So I have a hard time believing those 4 windows took 2 hours even with the bars which go straight down, don't have a design and are about 3 inches apart. I had my boyfriend meet them to give the ok which was a mistake on my part, but I figured they already broke a window, the least they can do is clean the inside thoroughly. I had him check a few places of concern like the inside of cabinets, including the medicine cabinet, which they had not cleaned. She said she thought it was just a mirror. I never would have thought he needed to walk around dragging his fingers over every surface and pointing out the dirt and dust. After he gave the ok, Lorraine called me and said she had already charged my card another $100 for the additional time they spent on the inside. Even though that's where they were supposed to start. I didn't fuss, just said ok and ended the call pleasantly. Once I got to the house I was furious! They left dirt and dust is such obvious places they should be ashamed to call themselves professional cleaners. Lorraine  told me it took them time to pull the manufactory plastic off the appliances. I didn't know that was part of the service and had planned to remove it once they were done with a sharp razor blade along the edges so make sure it came off evenly.  They just ripped it off recklessly and left frayed pieces sticking out of the creases. Didn't even wipe it off after. What's the point of offering a service if you're going to do a shitty job and make brand new appliances look bad. I don't mind paying for a service, but show up on time and do your damn job! I was supposed to start moving in today instead I'm looking for a window repairman and another maid service.  I'm pretty sure they arrived at 9 and just start rushing to clean. I didn't think I needed to be there to stand over them and micro manage.  I didn't want to, my grandmother (the previous owner of the house) was a maid and would occasionally take me with her to help clean when I was little. I guess I should have checked out the reviews before booking Maid with Joy. I hired them for a move-out cleaning of my apartment because I didn't have time to do it myself and boy do I wish I had saved the money and just did it myself. I left the apartment in pretty good shape, even vacuumed the whole place, did the toilets/sinks, and cleaned the fridge for them, the only thing I asked was to make sure to clean the fans and the outside patio, and those were the 2 areas that they neglected. It was very much a surface-level clean that still somehow took 2 people over 2 hours to complete...for a 1,000 sqft 2 bedroom apartment. Once I went in to check their work and realized all the areas that were not cleaned, the owner did offer to send them back an hour later to finish, but it was too late as I had to return the keys to my landlord, so I went in with my vacuum and cleaning supplies and had to finish the items they neglected. The owner offered a small discount of $50 dollars, which was a nice gesture, but I still feel like I overpaid for this service. read more

I have wanted to write this review for a few years but for whatever reason... was reluctant. Not sure why??? Only wish I had been forewarned about this company. I was referred to this company by a friend and it was truly an extremely upsetting experience. Unfortunately, I had an experience once before with a housekeeper who stole from me (which is why I called this company) so I just decided to not leave ANYONE alone in my home unattended ever again. One day, I was sick with the flu and couldn't even lift my head off the pillow. I had been sent a woman named CARMEN and just stuck with her and hadn't had any problems up until this day. I had been extremely nice and generous to Carmen. Generously tipping her every time and giving her lots of beautiful things (homewares and clothes.. etc) I no longer needed. I also bought or made her a lovely lunch every time she worked. I went above and beyond to be warm and generous. CARMEN IS A HORRIBLE, UNSCRUPULOUS, DISTURBED WOMAN. BEWARE!!! After doing all of this for her, the moment I was unable to keep a watchful eye... SHE STOLE SEVERAL THINGS. And, I'm not even sure how much she really stole, as I don't keep an exact inventory but I do know FOR SURE of several items that she took. And, I am very aware of most all of my belongings though I don't count my lipsticks or socks etc...At the time, I was living in a very chic studio apartment on the upper level. The trash bin was downstairs. She kept going downstairs that day every 10 minutes and staying down there for another 10 minutes. I later figured out that she was going to her car parked on the street and putting my belongings in her car. When I complained, she said she needed to use the phone for personal reasons that day (not sure why she didn't just have one or two conversations instead of at least 9-10 calls. Though, it all became clear to me after she left). One of the things she took was so blatant and obvious that it felt so disrespectful. A real slap in the face. It was in fall and I had a (hand me down) vintage, mercury glass, Jack-O-Lantern. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but it meant a great deal to me and they are impossible to find now. I have not been able to replace it all these years and I have tried!!! The point is... It was like 12 x 12 inches and sat alone on my entry table. Imagine the audacity to take that leaving the table empty, as if I wouldn't notice!!! When I called the manager to complain... I understood why Carmen felt so confident stealing (she also took some clothes, accessories and expensive kitchenwares). The manager fiercely defended her explaining that Carmen had worked there for 2 years and that they also knew her family. Not sure how that is relevant. They also went into a diatribe about how everyone always blames housekeepers and 9 out of 10 times, the items are not gone but misplaced. This is actually true which is why I think many housekeepers steal in the first place. They explained the only thing Carmen was guilty of was going downstairs every 10 minutes to "use the phone". Right. Sure. Okay. Here is the kicker... though Carmen only put in half the work that day and admitted it to management .....MAID WITH JOY charged me full price anyway. That speaks volumes about their ethics. It was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. Not only did Carmen steal nearly $1000.00 worth my belongings (some sentimental and irreplaceable) but the feeling of being violated is even worse than the theft itself. And, if that weren't upsetting enough....Then, being gaslit by management that I "misplaced" the items and that Carmen is wonderful employee and would never steal. I cannot warn you enough about this company most especially... BEWARE OF KLEPTOMANIAC CARMEN. By the way, after I showed Carmen so much kindness and consideration... She didn't as much as offer to bring me a glass of water while I was very sick with the flu. She was too busy grabbing my belongings and putting them in her car!!! read more

If you're in LA and need a cleaning service, DO NOT hire Maid With Joy. I wasn't able to clean for 4 days due to a neck injury, so I used them on a recommendation from my property manager, who knows I keep my place clean. There were several issues 1. I called at 11:07, explained that I needed a sink full of dishes done, kitchen counters cleaned, rug vacuumed and floor swiffered, living room tv cabinet dusted, and carpet vacuumed, Bathroom tub, sink, counter and bottles on it cleaned, and floor vacuumed/swiffered. This routine usually takes me 1 1/2 to 2 hours tops, by myself. At 11:13 I got a call back confirming 2 cleaners at a rate of $120 for 3 hours. Perfect! I needed to get my son from school at 3:15, so the timing should have been perfect. I was told they would be at my place in 15 minutes. They were not. I called back at 11:53 and was told they were outside. They were not. I got a call at 12:10 and was told yet again that they were outside. The phone never rang for me to buzz them into the property so I walked outside (in excrutiating pain) to see what the holdup was. Again, no one was there. I call again at 12:33 and I'm told again, they are outside the building. They finally call the buzzer and I buzz them in. Five minutes go by and they are still not at the door so I walk out, yet again, to see what's up. Two women, Maria Elena and Alicia, are standing at the gate, holding it open and looking very confused. ‍ I greet them kindly, walk them to my apartment, explain again what needed to be done, then offer them lemonade and bottled waters. 2. This is where the real issues start. I thought they were given instructions on what needed to be done by their manager Lorraine, and I assumed they understood the instructions I was giving them. They did not. There was a severe language barrier that I didn't realize was there, per the head nods in agreement and understanding. 3. Over 2 hours went by and Maria Elena was still in the kitchen and hadn't made it to the living room yet. Turns out she spent a long time cleaning the oven, which was not part of the agreement, but she did a good job. I went up stairs to check on Alicia as she had been in the bathroom for over 2 hours, with the door closed. I open the door and I see a soap ring around the tub, pee stains (boys really need to do better) and dust on toilet rim, water all over the counter but nothing cleaned, except the toothpaste my son spilled on the faucet. She had bottles from the bathtub on the counter as well as items from my medicine cabinet out. At this point I'm confused and irritated because I have to leave to get my son soon. I walk donwstairs to tell Maria Elena the situation. By this time I figured out the language issue and was using Google translator to write everything on my phone. Maria Elena stopped her tasks to check it out and she was just as shocked as I was, and even commented that Alicia had been in the bathroom for over 2 hours. Alicia then explains to Maria Elena in Spanish that she was cleaning a rust stain on the inside rim of the toilet, you know, that part that noone sees unless they bend down to look under the seat. That's what she was supposedly doing for two hours. Then she said my cleaner wasn't working to clean the tub. I grabbed the cleaner and scrubbing sponge myself and started to clean the tub. I sprayed the soap scum twice, wiped with my one good hand, and showed them the sponge with the soap scum that I just wiped. Maria Elena then told me to get up and she would do it. Thank you Maria Elena! I then took the cleaning spray and started the process of cleaning the counter, perfume bottles, etc., scrubbed the sink properly, cleaned the mirror, then organized the beauty products and put them back where they were. This took me 15 minutes total! 3. I called the agency at 2:43 and expressed my concerns to a new employee that had taken over. She said I would get a call back, which I did at 3:22, as I was walking out the door to get my son. I was then told that I was going to be charged something like $159 for extra time and work that was done. Keep in mind they didn't show up until after 12:30 and did things I didn't request and not much of what was requested. I told her that was unacceptable and let her know that I had taken photos of the work Alicia did and after photos from when I cleaned up behind her. 4. This is where it gets downright trifling. I get a VM this morning (Saturday) from Lorraine where she tells me that I'm ONLY going to be charged $120, even though they worked longer, which they didn't, and did extra services, which I didn't request. I immediately call her back and explained in detail everything that went wrong and she tried to gaslight me. She blamed me for the communication issues, my cleaning supplies, needing to leave to get my son, when they were late. etc. She cited the photos of the clean bathroom, which I reminded her that I cleaned. Only use this service if you are okay with a surface level clean. I had Christina today, she was nice, arrived on time (hence the two stars) but had zero attention to detail. I told them over the phone I wanted her to focus on the floors and the windows. She arrived with basically zero cleaning supplies so I told her she could use mine. She used my broom to fashion a mop... Yes she put a dirty dish rag at the bottom of my broom and used that to "mop" the floor. The photos attached are the Clorox wipes I used on my floor boards, blinds, and table after she left - they all came up brown and black with dirt!!!!!! She also didn't have a duster so my bookshelf, tv and dresser were all left really grimy. On the bottom shelf of my bookshelf there were spiderwebs which I even pointed out and when she left they were still there !!!! I was also charged for $10 for "cleaning supplies" even though she used mine... Oh and she took 3.5 hours!!! I would only use this service if you can request Estella because that's who my boyfriend recommended she was just unavailable today. But personally I won't be using them again. read more

We have used this company for a number of years, and unfortunately after our long time maid left, the crews they sent never seemed to be up to par. They do a general surface cleaning, but do not expect them to really get in there and scour anything without either nicking or breaking something or dropping something on the floor. It's a hassle to try and find a reputable maid service company, but hopefully we will have better luck with the next outfit that we hire. read more

Maid with Joy was terrible because: 1. They left the place unfinished. (Did only partial cleaning.) 2. They arrived with broken tools. For example: the bristles on the broom were 2/3 missing. Their sponges were old and ineffective. 3. They tried to get away with not finishing. Just one example is that they did a cursory wipe-down of the refrigerator but didn't clean a pool of brown sauce underneath one of the drawers. It wasn't because they didn't see it because they cleaned the sauce that was underneath the neighboring drawer. 4. They wiped down the front of the kitchen drawers but left them dripping so I had to wipe them (and the floor) after the cleaners left. 5. I called them afterward to report the bad job and to ask them to send people to finish what they started, but they immediately got defensive, incredibly unprofessional, and had a really bad attitude. I wasn't angry or rude during this call, because I simply wasn't mad. All I wanted was the cleaning job finished. 6. I even said I'd email photos to support my statements. After I emailed them, they went ignored. The rep at Maid with Joy implied that they were fabricated. First, I tried to explain that she was mistaken (that's just not something I would ever do). And second, I said that the $150 job was not worth all the time and energy involved in photoshopping the many photos I sent her, and all the time I spent on the back and forth correspondence via phone and email. 7. I didn't even want a refund. I simply wanted them to finish the job. Maid with Joy refused to finish the job (even though they saw the photo evidence). 8. In the end, after they refused to finish the job, I asked for a refund. They refused. I thought about reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I wanted to keep others from being cheated. I chose to write a review on Yelp instead because I thought it would be more effective. read more

I have been using housekeepers for 10 years and this is by far the Absolute worse cleaning service I have ever used. They quote you one price then something double or Tripple that quoted price shows up on your bank statement. I was over charged more than double for each cleaning and charged for cleanings that never occurred. To add add insult to injury the few cleanings I actually had were extremely unsatisfactory. I was told I would receive a credit instead I received another erroneous charge. When I contacted the company with the evidence I was send an extremely unprofessional, distasteful text message. DISHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND RUDE. I had two Airbnb guests and booked two maid services over the holidays. I gave all four parties the same instructions for getting into the apartment. The first maid service (Friendly Maids, which did a fantastic job) and both airbnb guests had no problem getting in. Not only was Maid with Joy unable to follow these simple instructions, they lied about it and then left me with a dirty apartment for my second airbnb guest. Specifically, Maid with Joy showed up an hour late for the job. They then called to say that they couodnt find the lockbox to get the key. They apparently thought it was INSIDE the apartment gate complex . . . which would make no sense. You dont leave keys inside the place you are trying to unlock. They then immediately left for their next job (no surprise, as they were running very late). I told them that they had to go back ASAP, and gave them further instructions. They told me that now they could only send one person rather than the two promised. Then, they contacted me to tell me that they found the lockbock but they key was GONE. WHAT?!? I freaked out, thinking that they key was stolen or someone has broken in. As it turns out there was no need for alarm. They key was there the whole time. How do I know? Because a mere 30 minutes later, my second airbnb guest had ZERO problem finding the key and entering the apartment. (And I confirmed with the first Airbnb guests that they had left it there at 9 am.) Because of Maid in Joy, this airbnb guest walked into a DIRTY apartment. I ccontacted them frantically and told them they had to go back immediately. Guess what? Surprise, surprise. Now they claimed that the crew did not have any more time left to come back and clean, and they refused to find another crew. I had to ask my friend to go over there as a favor and wash the sheets and dishes so it wasnt completely gross. What happened with Maid in Joy? Did they give me a free cleaning? Did they apologize? NO. In fact, the owner stopped returning any emails or phone calls, and refused to take responsibility for her crew (she actually said "I dont have any control over my crews' schedule.") My friend and I figure that the crew lied because they were running late and overbooked. The owner turned a rude and blind eye. Bottom line: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Angela and Lupe were amazing and warm -- but also professional. The place was clean and they prioritized without too much guidance from me... basically I told them "ahhhh! my mom is coming out to visit" and they just automatically knew what to focus on first! We just ordered bi-monthly service, and had our first house cleaning last week. They arrived at 8:30 am, which was perfect timing. My husband met them and said the cleaners were very sweet. They did a wonderful first time cleaning, very thorough. I'm excited to have them back. Also used my Yelp coupon! My experience with this company was an extreme failure. Workers were hired to clean a move out situation. Arriving late did not bother us , but little regard knowing that other workers would waiting to enter the house. Well, the so call proceeded their work. We did not supervise ad we were trying to clear the garage. When they left , workers came in to fix up some property issues They pointed out the cobwebs left upstairs. I made a list and sent it to the management. My list consisted of cobwebs left, blinds were not touched baseboards were still dusty. I wrote to their company and along with a list of thing that was not done. Next day, of course a phone call. We decided to refuse service. So requested a refund. However, refund was only at 50% one worker insisted that cobwebs were cleared and blinds were cleaned well, I don't know what house they were cleaning, but it was not the one I was in. We've been using Maid with Joy to clean our apartment since early September 2010 and I am SO happy with the service they provide. We had a little hiccup with the first woman who came to clean (not quite meeting expectations), but I emailed Lorraine about it and she was very prompt to resolve the issue and offer another cleaning crew. We now have Angela and Lupe clean our apartment once a fortnight and they do a fantastic job. I look forward to coming home from work every second Friday. Our apartment is so clean and tidy that even the air feels clean. I think their price is pretty reasonable for the service they provide. We unintentionally left some clean washing out one day that my husband had been procrastinating on folding and putting away for over a week, and when we came home it was all folded and put in its proper place. Now it's a battle to get him to do his own folding on the off weeks!! We had to prolong an overseas trip over Christmas, and they were understanding and helpful in rescheduling our cleaning services, even sending an alternative crew for a week when we needed to change from our standard day. The alternative crew was SO LOVELY. Really friendly, great people. It does mention on the website that they are a referral agency which I think means the cleaners work directly for us...? But we make the checks out to "Maid with Joy" so I am a little confused about how that works. Nevertheless, the apartment gets cleaned, the cleaning crews are professional, friendly, fantastic people, and I am 200% happy with the service we get. I contacted Maid With Joy shortly after moving into my home in Culver City. That was nine years ago! I'm now moving out of state, and one of the things I will miss most dearly are the services (and friendship) of Julio and Gabby. They have taken care of me and my home for nearly a decade, and I don't have enough words to recommend them. They are very reliable, do great work, and will do more detailed cleanings if you request. Maid With Joy is great about communicating to clients, and are always available to help with schedule changes etc. Aside from their great service, Julio and Gabby have become a part of my family. Having someone in your home is an intimate relationship that must be filled with trust and respect by both parties, and I could ask for a more professional and caring team than Julio and Gabby from Maid With Joy. I was really excited to try out Maid With Joy, because the company had a pretty good yelp score (4 stars by 8 reviewers), and because I've had a previously bad experience with a maid company. Unfortunately, it seems the trend continues. I was impressed with the phone customer service from the get-go. She was friendly and wanted to know what I wanted done, and seemed very organized. So I told her that I would write out the instructions for the maid. I was so conscientious, and even used Google Translate, just to make sure that I had both an english version and a spanish version of simple instructions. The maid was supposed to arrive at around 8 am and be done with the job by at least noon. I have a one-bedroom. Instead, I get myriad calls throughout the day detailing how the maid is late; oh wait, she got held up; she's not coming; worse yet, they'll be sending a replacement maid. At 4 in the afternoon. So I get home, and the replacement maid (guy) is JUST GETTING STARTED!! This is a Friday night, when I have things to do. Instead, I have to wait out 2 hours so that they'll do a half-decent job. Only about HALF of the short, written list was accomplished. (Seriously? Simple things like, dusting the top of the ceiling fan, or sweeping/mopping the corners of my small little apartment, or dusting the bookshelves...) I was really disappointed. I've been a loyal customer of Maid With Joy for a bout a year I think, and I can't tell you how disappointed I am now. Just yesterday, I got a phone call from them confirming my app. The app. was today, but they said that our regular crew can't come to our place and they are sending someone else. They also went on and told me that the new crew is only one man (regular is 2 man crew, usually husband and wife) and will take him 4 hours to clean our place instead of 2 hours. I asked them why our regular crew canceled. The receptionist said that she didn't know why, but they couldn't make it. I reminded her that I told her last time, how much I like them, so that it was very disappointing. She said "I am sorry but I am not the one you spoke to last time". I was pretty sure that I remembered her name correctly but I wasn't gonna investigate that then. I was more focused on how this was like the third time same thing happened, and we were NOT happy with it. The first time MWJ canceled on us last minute (the day before) was when they told us our first regular crew got sick and they had to send us different crew. We were fine with it even though the replacement they sent were so horrible. They did not even have proper equipment and it was obvious that they didn't really know how to do the job. They definitely did not look like professionals. The second time they canceled on us last minute, they said that our regular crew quit. So we had another crew that we didn't like much. I told MWJ that I want to find another regular crew who can come to our place every month at our regular time, and they found me a crew. I liked this new crew a lot. They were very good at what they do and pretty efficient with their time, and we were very happy with the result. That was last month. I told MWJ that I really like them and I want them to be our regular crew now. Then the receptionist all of sudden tells me that they raised the price on their services, now it will be $10 more. I thought in my head "Ok, that was awfully good timing! Ha." But it is hard to find a maid you really like and I thought $10 is worth it if we can keep this new crew. The following month comes, you know what happened (the beginning of my story). I called my husband and asked if he was okay that we wait another week so we can have our regular crew. He said yes and I called MWJ to tell them we will wait for our regular crew another week. Then the truth came out of the receptionist's (you know who you are, I won't mention your name here) mouth finally. She said, "The thing is they won't go back to your place, they don't want to go back because it's too much work for them. And that's why I raised the price in the first place". Oh, so SHE WAS the one I spoke to last time, and she knew the reason why this new crew couldn't make it the whole time!! But she lied to me! and many times apparently. What I couldn't understand is WHY. Why would she (the receptionist) or MWJ (as a company), lie to me like that? If their crews thought our place is too big to cover or there are too many things to do in 2 hours, why didn't they tell us the truth and deal with the issue, professionally? If they told us, we could have negotiated the hours that we hire them for, or raised the fee a little (even though we did think 2 hours was the sufficient amount of time for 2 people to clean 1290 sqft condo.-one of us always stayed in the house while they clean, so we get to see what they do and how fast they work). But instead of being honest with us, MWJ came up with BS reasons to cancel their app. last minute. While I was appalled with the new discoveries, the receptionist did not offer an apology or an alternate crew. I couldn't trust them anymore anyway, so I told them I will find someone else. Maid with Joy, we were not friends, you did not have to worry about hurting my feelings, if that's what you were worried about by telling me the truth. I am disappointed. If she didn't clean well upto my expectation, that can always be fixed by communication. But she has attitude, which can not be fixed! When I mentioned nicely that she has another 15 minutes to make it 3 hours because she came 15 minutes late, she asked "what do you want me to do now" in a rather rude way. When I showed her a few more spots that need detailed attention (I am not at all a clean freak, even the opposite) she also showed attitude there. Her name is Victoria. She is a part-time though, so maybe they pick their full-time people more carefully, this is holiday season after all. I was gonna give them another chance and ask for a full-time helper because of all the good reviews. Then I realized that THESE REVIEWS ARE ALL RECENTLY. While they claim that they have been in the business for 25 years. Did they recently change their name to get rid of bad reputation??? Or what is the chance that Yelp has only found them recently??? They are very nice and professional when I had to cancel. That's why they get 1 star. well I got 2 phone calls from Maid with Joy about this review, telling me that they have been in business for 25 years and not until recently that they contact Yelp for advertising. However if I understand correctly, Yelp posts your info up for free unless you want to advertise some deals (like $15 off first time customers) then you have to pay. I might be wrong and they might be in business for a long time with the same name but for some reason not being on Yelp until now. read more

I could have cleaned my house the way this service did. The woman they sent was a chatty Kathy when I just wanted to read my book and supervise. Also it was a $40 cleaning job that I paid $80 with tip for. Very very sub par. If I hire a professional service, I expect a professional experience and professional results. read more

Called for a next day cleaning, very last minute. I told them it was a tough job, it had been a while since my apartment was cleaned. They gave me one of the lowest quotes, and they were able to schedule 2 people to come the next morning. They arrived on time and did a fantastic job cleaning, I am very happy with the results. I found my favorite cleaning crew ever through Maid with Joy in Marina del Rey. Unfortunately I moved out of the area, which is the only reason I no longer use them or this service. Used Maid of Joy because a friend referred me to them. They came promptly at the requested time with equipment in hand. Walked them through my apartment and off they went to clean everything. I'm not the cleanest guy ever since I'm clutter up my place, and they did a wonderful job cleaning up organizing my place! My kitchen counter has never looked cleaner, my bath tub and toilet are back to a nice white shine, and my place just looks clean now! The ladies were very professional and friendly. Charged a fair price and did the work as asked multiple times. I've used them for cleaning apartments before rental. One time a staff member came and was not good at all - the other workers were covering for her. I contacted the office and they sent a new crew out the next day. So net effect -1 star for a bad crew member - but since they took care of it with a second crew - I'll use them again in the future. read more

Could not be more pleasant during our interview with one of the owners. The price quoted was very reasonable, they sounded familiar with servicing a vacation rental business and they sounded like they were going to be our new cleaning service. We met the mother and son cleaning team and felt comfortable leaving them in the house to work. About 3 1/2 hours later we got a call saying that they were all done. This is where the wheels fell off. When we arrived, they told us that one of the beds is not made because the sheets are still in the dryer. It turns out that 2 of the beds were not made. This is after we were told it was done. I guess my new guests are supposed to make their own beds. As it turns out, the owner guessed how long it was going to take to clean, sight unseen, and when the cleaners reached that time that is how they determined that they were done. Redefining the word 'Done'. Things escalated from there when I found a large pile of dirt in the laundry room and a general lack of care in their work and concluded with me throwing them out of the house. When I called the company and talked to one of the other owners, she could only assure me that they have been in business some 20 years and never had complaints. Right. She seemed more interested in defending the maid and company's actions rather than to resolve the situation. The fish stinks from the head. Customer service rep call me 3 days later. Bottom line: Horrible company with no customer service. It was not just the cleaning crew but the owners and management should not even be in business. read more

I've been satisfied with the overall quality of the cleaning that Angela/Erika do with my home. They're considerate and go the extra step without being asked.
