Happy hour every day from 4-close!
Angela B.

Popped in on a Friday night and was surprised to see it wasn't too busy. Especially after I learned they do Happy Hour everyday from 4pm to close. What a deal! It's anywhere from $3-$5 off an entree or drink. Always down for a good deal. Got sat at the sushi bar and there was a tv w/o captions soooo just watched them make the rolls. Got the Goyza and the Maiko nigiri (8 peices). The server was nice and gave ample time to review the menu after checking a few times if I was ready. The food was solid, didn't care for one of the nigiri....otherwise delicious. Lychee martini also tasty! Music wasn't too loud and laid back atmosphere.

Maiko Sushi is a great sushi restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Austin. They are a short walk away from the major bar scenes and offer great food with affordable prices. Happy Hour is from 4PM-closing daily and always hits the spot with my sushi craving. The Salmon Sashimi, Beef Skewers, and Spicy Tuna Roll are always my go to. Mixed Drinks here are delicious and it's just a great vibe overall. Service is always friendly and timely. Definitely a must try for sushi lovers and conveniently located for a pre-drinking spot and date night!

Visited for their dinner happy hour which honestly is great! They have happy hour from 4pm till close! The rolls were amazing! Our server was super nice and gave us a great recommendation for the Hawaiian roll which was amazing! Definitely will be going back!

Our arrival dinner in Austin was at Maiko Sushi, right across the street from our hotel. The outside is non-descript, but walking inside you'll find a trendy lounge-style restaurant with a bar and nightclub feel. Their menu has a nice mix of bento boxes, happy hour small bites, and of course sushi. Note their happy hour menu is available 4pm to close, so order up! The food here is excellent, and yes everything is bigger in Texas especially the entrees. We ordered: * Lychee Martini was refreshing * Shishito peppers were nicely charred and had the right amount of seasoning and sauce * Surprised to see steamed spicy wontons from the main appetizer menu - good though some more Sichuan peppercorn would be nice * Chicken thigh skewers were juicy, and huge! * The Salmon Bento had a really thick filet - cooked perfectly and moist. * For sushi lovers definitely get the Sushi for One - a nice mix of fresh nigiri sushi and an entire Maiko Roll - basically a large, mixed fish maki roll with sauce.

I ordered the Orange Dragon, Godzilla Roll, hamachi and sake toro nigiri, beef skewer, and a shrimp dim sum. Everything was delicious! The rolls were tasty, with creamy avocado and crunchy cucumbers that complimented the umami fish. The nigiri was fresh and delicious. I liked the beef skewer but it was even good without the teriyaki sauce. The shrimp dim sum was tasty too. I ordered through DoorDash so I can't speak to the service.

Maiko Sushi is a tried and true sushi spot that never disappoints! Their sushi is always so fresh you can really taste the difference. Currently they are offering free sake one per table during happy hour. Great pairing with their happy hour food. This day I went with the Salmon Avoccado Cucumber. So delish!

Came here last minute on a Wednesday and had an amazing experience. The restaurant was spacious and the servers were attentive. I sat up at the bar. Everything that I ordered was amazing and very fresh. I had the salmon sashimi some nigiri, the yellowtail collarbone, spicy edamame, couple hand rolls and thank you Tina for recommending such good sake to pair with my dinner. The plating was nice and Tina was extremely helpful and made the experience above and beyond pricing is fair. Sushi is fresh and they have a wide variety that you can choose from. I definitely would go back again. It was a great experience thank you, Tina and Ivan for your phenomenal service and delicious food.

Amazing sushi restaurant downtown! Had a great experience on Sunday night! my waiter was Jelani and he went above and beyond. I felt like a friend visiting even though I had never been here before. I love the layout of the restaurant, the lights seating, it's definitely a spot you'll want to try out this weekend!

Maiko is the stable, reliable restaurant you go to when you're craving mid-quality sushi & don't want to break the bank. While the rolls may not be the most memorable, Maiko offers a daily happy hour from 4 PM until closing, making it a convenient & affordable option. I've been here a few times now, and the restaurant tends to be less crowded than other sushi restaurants, making it the perfect walk-in restaurant and providing the space needed for larger groups. Note: avoid ordering the Scorpion (specialty roll), as this tasted fried and not very refreshing

Soup dumplings, yellowtail, and crispy tuna rice.

The soup dumplings were my favorite! The staff was nice when I picked up my to-go order. The crispy tuna rice was good and the yuzu sauce was great!

Tempura and egg rolls
Trinity M.

Came around 6pm for dinner and it was right across the street from our hotel. Got seated quickly and ordered a few things. Got 2 signature rolls, tempura, egg rolls, and a veggie roll with cucumber and avocado. The service was great and our waitress was friendly and nice. The food was mediocre, eh. Nothing special, but it was filling and quick which we appreciated.

Once you step inside, the interior immediately transports you to the late‑night streets of Tokyo--moody lighting, intimate vibes, and that cinematic feeling like something special is about to happen. There are 6 seats. My boyfriend and I had such a fun, personal experience. The staff were incredible--warm, engaging, and genuinely excited to guide us through each course. The food itself was delicious, beautifully crafted, and felt customized in a way that made the night feel unique to us. It's the kind of omakase that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering seriously good dishes. I also highly recommend the sake and cocktail pairing. The bartender customizes it based on your preferences. I told her my favorite drink is an espresso martini and she made this really fun espresso, strawberry latte concoction. There is also a special house sake with an homage to the owner's cat. I love those personal details. It's always a great time at Toshokan, and I'll definitely be back again. Nice, quaint chefs counter space inside and I believe the idea is to give a traditional Japanese local restaurant feel so the space is designed to just be big enough. This used to be a bedroom when the building was a hostel. I was pleasantly surprised when Nicole, upon checking me in remember who I was and welcomed me back. Not only that the chef did as well! They are both amazing and so full of knowledge. After being sat they go through several things about the history, items in the restaurant, and then drink service is offered and the meal begins. You get to select the chop stick holder and chop sticks you'd like to use. I asked, they have at least a dozen I believe different chop stick holder options. They also do s personalized wood coaster with your name burnt into it. The selections were amazing with each one having a unique flavor that melted in your mouth. I added the sake and cocktail pairing which Nicole does amazing. I let her know I still kept the origami crane she last time was still on my counter at home. They are toooo damn cut to just throw away. I mean look at them! Anybody during the service they are interactive with everyone engaging in different conversations. Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. The service was stellar and they were easy to book on OpenTable I also tried the green tea mocktail and found it to be light and refreshing and I was happy that it wasn't super sweet My two favorite items were: 1. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in.
