    Pork roll with garlic bagel
    Sarah J.

Delicious! Split a pork roll with a friend to try for the first time and it was sooo good! Got it inside a garlic bagel. The bagel is so delicious and soft. If I lived in that area, I'd definitely get it more often! Lol

Love the bagels and breakfast sandwiches here. My go-to is actually not a bagel; it's a round roll with bacon, egg, cheese, and breakfast potatoes *on the sandwich*. Try it! It's a game changer. The only thing I wish they also made was breakfast platters and omelets. Sometimes, I'm just not in the mood for a carb-heavy breakfast, but I do want to continue frequenting this place.

Main Street Bagel gives us (another) good reason to visit downtown Flemington, NJ. Since the old classic Union Hotel closed down and the historic courthouse of Lindbergh kidnapping trial fame ceased being an active justice center, things have gotten rather desperate on Main Street. Thankfully, this bagel/deli moved in a couple years ago and is successfully making a go of it, even in this difficult Age of Covid. I picked up my breakfast Onion w Veggie Cream Cheese the other day before a visit to a car dealer out on Route 202 for an annual service appointment. The sandwich was very good - decent sized roller with crisp skin requiring sharp teeth and strong jaw, surrounding a lighter air pocketed center, exhibiting a pleasant mild malty flavor, and a generous smear of veggie bit loaded cream cheese spread that leaked out the back just a little with each bite. Had to get my fingers shmutzie to contain it. Didn't mind at all, as I had yanked enough napkins on my way out to cover that possibility. Plentiful topside onion flakes, too. Self serve coffee offered enough basic choices to keep me well caffeinated through my time in the waiting room (properly socially distanced). I tried to be neat in this upper end auto lounge, but admit that some of the toasted flakes did escape my careful mastication and take flight, eluding my grasp, and spinning to the well polished floor. I picked up what I could see, but knew there were probably a few hiding from view. The dealer might not join me in this opinion, but Main Street Bagel will likely be the place I return to when I plan provisions for the next scheduled appointment with the well trained certified mechanics.

Fast service, fresh bagels, and a good price - what else could I ask for ?? This was probably one of the best bagel spots my friend and I have gone to in a while. Fresh bagels and when we ordered bacon, egg, and cheeses, they weren't stingy on the bacon. What a great way to start the day!!

Hands down the best pec I've had in Jersey !

The best pec on a roll I've ever had , don't @ me for not getting a bagel . Phenomenal

Alright - without getting into the age old NYC vs NJ debate on bagels and pizza - let add my $.02 on an amazing little family place to get that treasured early AM everything bagel. Main Street Bagels is exactly what you think of when you say "bagel shop". One of my family's favorite traditions is to get a dozen bagels early on Sunday AM before the day starts off. The friendly staff usually even throws in an extra bagel ! The plain bagels are a staple but I just love the in your face taste of a fresh everything with cream cheese. And yes....all made fresh right there so they are often still warm !

I was a loyal customer for over SIX YEARS, stopping in several times a week. While the staff seemed…read moreto change constantly, one thing never did--the owner's rude, dismissive attitude. After my most recent experience, I'll never be back. I called in an order for a long-roll turkey sandwich that I was planning to split with my uncle, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. The young employee who answered the phone struggled to repeat my order back to me, so I made sure to clearly state that I wanted it on a long roll. When I got home--25 MINUTES AWAY--I discovered the sandwich had been made on a small round roll instead. Since we were splitting it, there was a huge difference between a 12-inch long roll and a small round roll. I immediately called the deli, explained the mistake, and the woman who answered (who I had spoken with many times before) apologized and told me they would take care of it by giving me a discount the next time I came in. Two days later, after taking my uncle to one of his cancer treatments, I stopped in expecting them to honor what I had been told. Instead, the owner (who identified himself as "Ed") approached me with an attitude and immediately said, "What are you looking for? It's the same price for a long roll or a short roll. I run a business here, and there's nothing I'm going to do about it." I explained that it wasn't about the money. I even showed him pictures of the sandwich and reminded him that I had been a loyal customer for years. He interrupted me, saying his employee claimed I ordered a short roll and repeated that he wasn't doing anything because he "runs a business." He then added, "You come in here all the time, but I have a lot of loyal customers." When I explained that I had called immediately after getting home because I live 25 minutes away, I was told that if I had brought the sandwich back, they would have corrected it. That wasn't a realistic option. I wasn't about to leave my uncle, who is battling cancer, and drive 50 minutes round trip because their employee made the sandwich incorrectly. Any business that genuinely values its customers would understand that and make a reasonable effort to fix the mistake the next time I came in--especially after one of their own employees had already promised they would. Instead, the owner dismissed the entire situation and treated me like I was asking for something unreasonable. This was never about trying to get something for free. I simply expected the business to stand behind its mistake. Even replacing the bread or honoring what I had been promised would have been enough. Instead, I was spoken to with disrespect, talked down to, and treated like my years of loyalty meant absolutely nothing. At the end of the conversation, I told the owner, "You just lost a loyal customer, and I don't appreciate the way you're talking to me." His response was simply, "Well, that's too bad." That one statement summed up exactly how he feels about the people who support his business. After spending thousands of dollars there over the past six years, I was shocked by how I was treated over something so simple. The owner's attitude alone was enough to lose my business. Looking back, convenience was really the only reason I kept going there. The chips are often stale from sitting out all day, and on multiple occasions I've personally seen employees handling food without gloves. I overlooked those things because the location was convenient, but after the way I was treated, I have absolutely no reason to return. He didn't just lose one loyal customer. After sharing this experience with several friends who also frequented this deli, many of them said they only went there because it was convenient as well and have decided they'll be taking their business elsewhere. SIX YEARS OF LOYALTY WASN'T WORTH CORRECTING ONE SIMPLE MISTAKE. THAT TELLS YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOW THIS BUSINESS VALUES ITS CUSTOMERS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT APPRECIATES THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS.

I love that Manhattan Bagel offers gluten-free bagels, and plenty of breakfast meat options for the Original Classic breakfast sandwich; I typically opt for Taylor Ham, but I've been switching it up lately with Manhattan Bagel's pastrami or turkey sausage. I also love the lox sandwiches, and several of my loved ones are big fans of the Brisket breakfast sandwich, served on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. There is no shortage of unique options, and I encourage you to try out the lunch options! In addition to the modern atmosphere and quick service, what sets Flemington's Manhattan Bagel apart is the coffee drink selection, which undoubtedly rivals coffee shops in the area. I dream of the Blackberry Lavender Oat Milk Cold Brew--I truly can't explain how delicious it is! Manhattan Bagel's frozen coffees and pistachio coffee beverages are also out of this world. Lastly, Manhattan Bagel is also available on DoorDash if you prefer to order delivery. However, for some reason, DoorDash doesn't allow for a gluten-free bagel with any of the lunch menu items. I assume this is just a glitch, and I'm hoping Manhattan Bagel with fix this soon! All in all, 10/10 recommend. Stop by Manhattan Bagel for delicious breakfast and coffee.
