Okay, Michael-You're so right, AGAIN-LOL! I must admit, having my hair colored and styled . . . I could feel the hunger pangs setting inside my stomach; I didn't eat breakfast again. By the time I arrived at Melters, my stomach was unhappily grumbling. Uhhh~Wow-so many sandwiches listed on their menu board . . . I know I want something HOT, not cold~Okay, I think I'll order a hot pastrami on rye bread but, all the cold vegetables must be added to the pastrami and rye bread after both have been heated. I was impressed and absolutely pleased how succinctly my sandwich was built to MY specifications! AWESOME! Confession: I inhaled the pastrami on rye while parked at Lava Cap Winery's parking lot before heading into Lava Cap's wine tasting session and purchasing bottles of wine=STELLAR decision! I wasn't drunk from wine tasting BECAUSE I ate a Melters' sandwich~YAY!!!!! Oh, I forgot mentioning I ordered the Mac n' cheese with BAY-CON~YUMMY: I ate the Mac n' cheese after the Lava Cap's wine tasting session insuring I won't receive "Officer Friendly's" inebriated, DUI ticket; that's what Mac n' cheese is supposed to do as ordered! read more

Driving down Main Street I needed something cold to choke the smoke today. Placerville is drowning in a sea of Caldor fire smoke. The open seating outdoor bar is absolutely the coolest thing on Main Street. I decided that I was hungry as well as thirsty and tried the beef and blue sandwich. HOLY WOW!The flavors and textures melted together just melt in your mouth. It was absolutely outstanding and accompanied by a Portland cider takes this sandwich over to top! Came here recently on the drive back from Tahoe. My boyfriend actually remembered stopping in on another trip and suggested it for a tasty treat on the way home. We popped over - had an easy time finding parking in the little lot across the street, ordered inside (all staff was wearing masks), and then waiting on the patio for our food. The menu was interesting and had a lot of different options. We ended up going with 2 very cheesy sandwiches with the jalapeno grilled cheese (white bread, cream cheese, pepper jack, pickled jalapenos), and caprese (toasted bread with mozzarella, basil, tomato, balsamic glaze). The service was pretty fast, considering it was quite busy at the time, and very friendly. We took our sandwiches on the road, but they had a really nice patio set up that we would've enjoyed if it had been a bit cooler outside. The sandwiches were both REALLY tasty. Quite frankly, I'm pretty sure the jalapeno popper sandwich is what dreams are made of, although I was happy we got it to share. The caprese was also piled high with fresh tomatoes, with tons of glaze to enjoy. The total for the 2 sandwiches and tip came out to ~$26 so it was a little expensive, but really fun to try something new. I'll definitely plan on stopping by next time I'm in the area, and hope to enjoy the patio at some point too! read more

We wanted to try this place for quite a while andlast Friday was the day. We popped in for a late lunch and it was pretty busy and our sammies took a bit but mine was well worth the wait and the Pom Cider was fantastic. I went here after a quick and crowded trip to Apple Hill with my girlfriend. Wasn't really sure what to expect. Outward appearances to the contrary I just thought it was a local beer joint. To my surprise they have an amazing and delicious array of pastrami and corned beef in what I have only had at a Jewish deli. Great quality meats, delicious combinations of spreads and breads. I just moved to the area and have been trying out the local bites, and this might just be my favorite so far! I had just been on Yelp reading reviews and got Angry Irishmen stuck in my head, so that's what I ordered when I called in (thanks a lot pregnancy brain). I asked her to please have the sandwich made on sourdough instead of the rye though (thinking of the loaded Irishmen), and added on a side of Mac n cheese! They could've just prepared the food as it was ordered, but Sam went out of her way to call me back and clarify what it was that I wanted. Talk about incredible customer service!! They had my LOADED Irishmen on sourdough ready within 10 minutes and it was delicious. I saved half of my sandwich for my husband, and he said that even cold it was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had! He wants to try the ANGRY one of these weekends. I had to go so I asked them to cancel my order and refund my card. Unfortunately, I was initially denied that request. After a brief argument at the counter, someone working at the grill walked over and told them to refund my card. HOWEVER, as he walked away, he mumbled something under his breath. I want to stress when I placed an order, the girl on the phone was not friendly at all or helpful, and when my husband went to go pick up the sandwiches, none of the workers or patrons were wearing masks! I don't know if it's because the party ahead of us in line ordered a lot or they're slow at making the sandwiches, but we had to wait about 20-30 minutes for our to go order. The former had an intensely savoriness plus loads of kick from the jalapenos while the latter had a surprising amount of flavor not far off from the pastrami & corned beef. What a great spot for sandos with outside seating and a nice beer selection! The service was really great and the sandwiches were great. (I am kind of an expert since I worked at a deli for several years in high school :)) We felt comfortable with our distance from other people eating outside, and the staff wore masks.
