Exceptional service, delicious food, perfect mojito, pleasant atmosphere. We had two different roast beef sandwiches, the pressed and the mushroom Swiss. The roast beef itself was very flavorful, and the sandwiches and au jus were delicious. Our server (Candy?) was attentive, coming out to take our order as soon as we sat down. She was personable and helpful. We even ordered a slice of guava cheesecake based on her suggestion, and we don't often order dessert (it was very good). Our entire visit was excellent. This was great pub good in a casual, relaxed restaurant that is much larger than it looks, there are 3 bars and an outdoor patio with live music. We wanted a simple light and quick dinner and decided to come here after comparing their menu to the nearby restaurants. I like that there's plenty of variety to choose from for either lunch or dinner that's fresh, tastes good, and hits the spot without any unnecessary frills. The interior bar section is a cool spot to gather around and talk smack with new people. There was also an outdoor bar area and seating with a live musician belting out some great tracks on his guitar. Shelby was our waitress and she was very nice and quick to bring out our order. I like the upstairs deck area which also has a bar so each section of the place runs cohesively with its own style in each area. We started off with the crunchy beef wontons which paired perfectly with the zesty sauce it came with. I got the French Onion soup and the Summer wrap with chicken. I love the place. it's like a home town bar and moms cookin... best northern dishes in the area.. their beef on wick is awesome; just like home in New York. I love their macaroni salad but wish they'd add a dash of mustard, like they do in NY. No worries though, bc they add that and real horse radish to the side of my plate when they serve it. First time being there for my friend's birthday who came here for vacation from New York. The bartenders are rude. The security guard kicked us out not even 1:30 yet. They're closed at 2, just trying to get everybody's out to do cleaning. Not recommended. read more

This place is still open? I am pretty sure the owners got busted for running a marijuana grow house out in Grant. They were even stealing power. WHY? This bar makes lots of money. Its like 4 bar's in one. They have a Tiki bar out back which also has a dancing type of area and a live DJ. Inside is like your average pub. The have a nice patio out front and over to the side there is another outside side area that people seem to forget about all together. Upstairs in like the trendy area. I find it fun to sit on the second floor and laugh at drunks walking down the street. I was a girl sitting in the road puking on a parked car. Wish I got a pic of that for Yelp. LoL The bathroom situation here is horrible! They should remodel some extra relief up in here! Food? They service food here? I never knew, never tried it so no comment on the food. We tried to go to the Irish Pub across the street and it was packed. We walked in and it has a nice European pub feel. The staff was super welcoming. When we arrived there were just a couple of people inside but the outside patio area was busy. Shortly after we sat down a group of very social and loud people came in. We went for happy hour and it frankly wasn't all that happy. They have a fair selection of tap beers and a good selection of bottles but the only beer in the happy hour was Bud Light. Pints of anything else were 6 bucks each. The chicken tenders weren't quite as good as burger King chicken tenders. Which are pretty bad. The Cuban sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. Deli ham and deli sliced pork. But the bread was fresh. So I would summarize as average food and drinks at above average prices. Just no compelling reason to ever go back. read more

As a huge whiskey fan, I gotta say, this place has all my favorites. AND this place is a MUST for any fans of Makers Mark. There is Makers memorabilia all over the walls, which I love. The food is pub style but not your typical burger and fries style. Think more like sandwich and fruit. It's definitely interesting and delicious. It's got outdoor and rooftop seating but that doesn't open until later. Also they play the standard rock bar jams which I love. This is everything I want in a bar. All in all A+ read more

Let me start by saying that Mainstreet Pub, has been and probably will be for a while, a high school "reunion" bar and I will probably end up stopping by again next time I'm in town. However, with that said, I wanted to point out two small issues I had while visiting last month. 1. Over the course of the night I ordered an Old Fashioned from each of the three bars. Unfortunately, only the ground floor front bar made a true Old Fashioned, in my opinion. The other two were distinctively ill-prepared and inconsistent to one another. Now I know three bars means three separate bartenders but I feel there should be some consistency in standards (ingredients, portion/glassware and price). 2. I can understand the restless crowd your business must deal with, but please do realize that not all your patrons are a drunken mess when you start closing. It was very uncomfortable for me and my two friends to be herded out the door like cattle. read more

I went for the first time in quite a while with a few friends for a beer on a Friday night. The draft beer was as flat as could be possible. We did drink most of the first one But upon ordering this second, I mentioned to the waitress how it was flat and she suggested trying a different draft. Low and behold, the next serving was as flat the first one. When the server came over later on I let her know it was also flat and I did not want it. Well she said let me check and came back a little while later and said she checked with the bartender and he said no one else complained about it and he tasted it and it's fine. She then went on to say I don't know I don't drink beer. I let her know I've been drinking beer for 30 years and it's flat. So, It was not taken off the bill, I was not asked if there was a different type of drink I would like, there was no apology and I was told I was wrong. Period. I looked around and I did not see anyone else drinking beer even though I'm sure there were some,as most were drinking mixed drinks. If that isn't poor management, I don't know what it is. read more

Excellent friendly service! We stopped in here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon with our three year old. There was plenty of open seating inside. We were promptly greeted by the waitress/bartender who took our drink orders, then came back to fill us in on the specials and give us some recommendations. As a vegan, I was very pleased with options on the menu. I decided on the Veggie California Wrap, sans Swiss cheese, with a side of potato chips and fresh fruit. Our three year old ordered the soft pretzels off the appetizer menu, but as soon as her Dad's mahi sandwich with a side of tots arrived, she decided to steal his tater tots (which were very tasty). the food wasn't completely aweful, but it was no where near great either. the service was completely awful, the guy at the bar wouldn't even make eye contact with me on purpose, when I would try to ask for a refill he would walk away, waitress no where to be found. from the minute you walk in you feel as if, " if you're not from here, you don't belong". not worth the money or time, be sure to bring your own drinks because you won't be able to find anyone to help you, even if you ask them at the bar. read more

Finally made it down here to try the beef on weck. I am originally from Buffalo (born and raised). Well, the beef on weck was totally freaking amazing. As good or maybe even better than what you can get from Buffalo. We also got the brie planks appetizer which was excellent- not too small, not too big, and tasty. Prices were good. Mainstreet Pub is a great example of reliable food in Melbourne. The menu rarely changes (save for specials) and the quality is always high. My grandpa loves this place, which means it has to be worth visiting because he's got some pretty good taste and pretty good friends. Sandwiches are always yummy here and worth ordering, especially with a side of soup. The outdoor area in the back is awesome for nightly happy hour specials and mingling. The bar in the back is really great for get-togethers with friends and there's always fun times and music happening. I hear they even have trivia one night a week, so stop in for some crazy team fun. I come here at least once every visit to Melbourne and I'll keep stopping in as long as I keep visiting. read more

Great bar but very deceiving. When you first walk in, your first thought is "this is it?" but if you keep walking through you will find the backside of the bar/club where it opens into a courtyard. This is where all the fun happens. You will see anyone and everyone there. There is an upstairs bar and and an upstairs outside balcony. It is all the talk in Melbourne. Everyone usually starts off the night here. Thursday through Saturday it is standing room only. The bar tenders are great and really hustle. During the week its a quiet non-assuming restaurant that serves one of the BEST Cuban sandwiches in town. Also, if you ever have the chance to visit go to the back courtyard bar and see if you can get the good looking Asian bartender Yung. He makes the best drinks! Whenever I come here, I think back to my first visit. I walked in and sat at the bar thinking "So this it, it looks alot bigger on the outside". I continue to nurse a bottle of beer watching the TV. After a while I notice someone going out into the back. At first I thought the restrooms were back there, but then I saw someone taking food back there. No one takes food to the restroom (no one I hang out anyway), so I looked for myself. There's a courtyard back here! They offer plenty of mixed drinks to choose from. I'm more of a beer guy, so I tried a local beer they had, Jai Alai. It was a little too much on the bitter side for my tastes. If you're visiting Downtown Melbourne, this should be one of your first stops. If you're coming in from the west side, this will be the first bar you see. If you're in the area it's worth checking out, but I wouldn't recommend planning a night around just this place. Super narrow hallways. Parking essentially only available a couple blocks away. Prices seem to reflect the touristy area, but not the atmosphere. There's different areas to check out once you're inside. The highlight was standing on the balcony watching constant fights erupt near the entrance below us. My advice - check out "The Mansion" instead. read more
