I have only been here twice but my impression of the place is good so far. The drinks are okhay, albeit a little on the sweeter side. I would suggest the bartenders esp out at the tiki bar to be a bit more generous with liquor in the drinks. Other than that they have a live musician outside in the tiki bar sometimes. Last month they had a female artist outside and she was fabulous and lot up the environment a lot. I like how they generously place free munchies in the outside area on Fridays. The happy hour crowd is good, but at night the place can get too packed with people, especially on the 2nd floor. The balcony is a really good spot to get away from the crowds, if you can get a table. The problem is the type of crowd. Mostly tools, d-bags, and college students. For the most part, everyone there is trying to be hip, and trying too hard. Come to think of it, most are some variation of the hipster species. I think people need to realize that Pabst is a crappy beer that most of our dads and their friends drank because they were too damn poor to drink anything better. I wasn't impressed. I had been told by several friends that I should try the mainstreet pub because the nightlife though busy was a lot of fun and really relaxed. I was excited because I don't go to clubs ever and I was happy to hear about a club like atmosphere without the really crowded, music pumping vibe (if that makes sense). Instead I got an overly crowded, really obnoxiously loud experience with really crummy,watery drinks. The decor is okay, nothing to write home about and the staff is okay as well. I wasn't pleased with any of the drinks and I believe at one point there was some food but it was sent back because it was so bad. The building was also hard to navigate. There are several back rooms that are all connected and there are hallways that lead to different areas of a patio and even seating to the side of the building. This was a end of the night stop for a trip in Melbourne that I was having. My sister and I had come here after leaving another bar for a little night cap and we enjoyed what was the end of an evening. I did not have the food here, only a beer, but the time spent here was enjoyable. There were a couple of levels and a bar right when you walk in. Lots of seating for people to chill out and a cute covered outdoor area. People and bartenders were very friendly. The inside isn't very big but the outdoor patio is huge. There's a bar inside as well as one outside. There are live musicians, DJ's and we went one time for some dance thing that was going on upstairs. My friend and I are on a quest to try all the Mojitos we can in Melbourne/Beachside, which brought us to Mainstreet. We sat in the tiki bar, which was completely charming. There's a fruit press on the bar and they use it to make the cocktails that have fruit juice in them. I made my "not bad Obama" face. Any redditors here will understand. My friend and I sat at the end of the bar and carried on silly conversations about random stuff, having a great night. It was a slow night and our bartender was right on top of keeping us refilled. I'm not the one to usually write reviews but I need to let people know the wrongdoing of this bouncer named Omar at Mainstreet pub. I've witnessed bouncers do whatever they want in the past just cause they can/want to. But last night this bouncer at Main Street pub assaulted my boyfriend for no reason. As the closing time was approaching, the bouncer yelled at everyone at the patio "you all need to leave right now". Me and my boyfriend were finishing our drinks and getting ready to leave the establishment. The bouncer then decided to grab my boyfriend by the throat and took him out of the pub by his throat. After my boyfriend basically got kicked out, the bouncer let others stay and finish their drinks. I was looking for a venue to have a 50th birthday party for my wife and about 80 people. I was lucky enough to come across the Main Street Pub, Lena and her amazing staff. The upstairs bar and balcony was the perfect setting for family and friends to gather and celebrate. The specialty drinks that the Main Street Pub have made famous were just an added benefit of holding our event at the MSP. The food selection, quality and professional manner in which everything was served was fantastic. My husband and I were so happy to return here after the Covid mess. We shared two Naan Flatbreads: the Pepperoni and the Weck'd. They were both fantastic. They both had lots of cheese and meat were loaded with flavor. In particular, the Weck'd which is a take on Beef on Weck, a Buffalo, NY staple, was flavored with caraway seeds and horseradish. Believe me when I tell you this was genuine Buffalo! That's where we are from and my husband said "this is the best "Beef in Weck" I've had since we left Buffalo. Thank you, Main Street Pub. This is a very chill, casual pub. The place has an outdoor tiki bar, which is a nice touch. I came here for lunch, and they had a good selection with decent prices. I also came back for their acoustic night outside at the tiki bar and it was a very nice atmosphere. They have TVs outside as well, so you can sit and watch games as well. I chose Mainstreet Pub as the venue for a surprise 50th birthday party for my mom. From start to finish, the staff at Mainstreet, Lena in particular, were wonderful to work with. I live out of state, and Lena made planning an entire party from 1300 miles away a breeze. Communication via email was wonderful, and she helped me form a custom menu for our guests. Plenty of parking, great atmosphere, and more importantly, delicious food and drinks! There were a number of different options for location within the Pub for our party; we ultimately chose the tiki bar area, which was perfect for our 40+ guests. The food was wonderful (we got so many compliments on the hummus tray in particular!), the staff was courteous and attentive, and the party was overall a huge success! Aside from this event, I have also spent many days and nights at Mainstreet Pub before, be it with a few friends out for some drinks, or for one of Melbourne's street parties....every time is just as fun as the last, and we are never disappointed.
