We had a great evening on the MaiTai sunset cruise. Dustin was our Captain. Alex was our first mate and bartender. Both did a great job to make it a fun evening. Even catching a glimpse of the first whale sighting of the season. The Mai Thais were tremendous! Very smooth ride, beautiful evening with a vibrant rainbow and wonderful photo-opps of Diamond Head and the sunset. Highly recommend this company to experience the beauty and fun of Oahu/Waikiki! It was a little difficult to find the launch site, due to some sidewalks and hotel access unavailable. But again it was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend. read more

On a good day this is a very decent ride . You are taken out far enough where you can see some of Hawaii's other islands . Depending on the weather conditions the boat ride can be rather rough and sometimes intimidating. Both times we've been the crew has been extremely friendly and entertaining . The booth workers were also accommodating. With that being said PLEASE make sure you leave at LEAST an hour in advance if you have to leave 2 hours in advance. If you miss your scheduled boat time they don't wait, which is understandable being that it would through the rest of their sail times off, and you also will get no refund . That is the part that sucks. Unforeseen circumstances happen all the time so absolutely no refunds OR guaranteed rescheduled boat rides at any time lacks compassion to me. read more

I would never recommend this tour. We went on this sail with a bunch of friends. We ended up paying and tipping for all of our drinks, and then when we left they asked us for an additional $60 tip on top of what we payed. We payed the tip, and later come to find out the crew said we stiffed them. We payed well over $150 in tips and had the staff complaining. I will never recommend anyone do this voyage to anyone visiting. There's better ships to have a drink on and have a good time. read more

This was the highlight of our seven day trip to Waikiki! The crew is excellent and the whole made Mai Tais were the best we had- they will even save plastic and fill your reusable bottle. We saw lots of sea life including many dolphins and the sea turtle. Great views of Diamondhead and even an opportunity for photos with my wife and I steering the boat. Well worth the money to spend an hour and a half getting a great view of Waikiki the surrounding area and interacting with travelers from all over. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this company! It would have cost us way less if we went with another company! If I could give this cruise a -5 I would. This 90 minute cruise is all you can drink; they have four choices to choose from: beer, white wine, champagne, and mai tai. That is it. The mai tai's are the weakest drinks I have ever tasted. It's a very small catamaran they cram with people. I'm on the cruise and getting a refill on my mai tai. While one of the staff members is pouring my drink another takes the ice and watered down leftover mai tai from another person's drink and pours it into mine. AHHH!!!! Are you kidding me? Then she looks at me weird when I ask for a different drink. I WILL NEVER EVER DO THIS CRUISE AGAIN!!!!!!!! This was the worst experience of the entire trip. The tickets are so overpriced for absolutely nothing, the whole point of the boat is to wear your bathing suit and sit on the NETTING and get splashed, they didn't even let us on the netting. So, I didn't exactly understand the point of this so called, "catamaran" i felt extremely sea sick, and we didn't even get wet so the feeling would go away. We didn't know that we were just signing up for a regular boat ride. If I could put no stars I would. Worst catamaran ride ever, if I were you, I wouldn't go on it, and especially not your children. People started drinking and there was this group of Latinos, that were yelling on top of their lungs, on the boat. Y'all know that as a Yelp elite that I hardly give one star. I'm currently traveling in Hawaii and my friends booked this cruise for us. We left the house an hour early, but unfortunately got caught in the aftermath of a car accident on the highway. Despite relying on Waze to take us to a side road, we came exactly 15 min after departure time. Two out of the six of us arrived on time. They did not wait and took off. That being said, I get that neither party could have predicted car accidents from deterring us from arriving exactly on time. However, due to extraneous circumstances, we asked for the refund and they pointed to the cancellation fee, which had nothing to do with our situation. Needless to say, they did not give us any sort of refund. No opportunity to reconcile an apparently typical traffic jam in addition to two car accidents reported on the highway today. Maybe a different day? Time? Anything? My two friends awkwardly watched them sail away with a shrug. I want to clarify that I'm disappointed in the lack of customer service in offering some sort of alternative, NOT the fact that we couldn't get on. I understand there are other passengers. Wish I could've left five stars instead. Hoping they amend their service in the future. read more

Booked this on two days notice. We were laying on the beach in Waikiki and saw the cruise pull up. This place easily lived up to all of the reviews on here. The bartenders were quick to get the drinks started and they kept coming. Cruise wasn't too long and not too short, just the right amount of time. They do accept tips when you get back to the beach so make sure to bring some cash. They definitely deserve it. When I'm back in Hawaii I'll be back on this cruise for sure. read more

This was one of our favorite activities while in Oahu. We booked this activity after we arrived and we used our Go Oahu card for the 2 hour afternoon cruise. It was really hot and sunny the day we went but there was the ocean breeze to help a little. You get a drink ticket for the drink of your choice. It was very good! Not weak or watered down. You could purchase more if you chose. The captain pointed out sea turtles and dolphins to us. He also let us take pics steering the wheel. Very friendly crew and nice boat. This was a GREAT Groupon buy. And if you are lucky enough to apply a sale code plus ebates...2 people can sail for a 90 min sight seeing excursion for almost FREE! This huge catamaran was extremely immaculate. The two captains we had on board were such great and gracious host with safety always in mind. One of them was actually also part of marine patrol...which makes you feel pretty safe. Onboard beverages range from $3 to $5 and I have to recommend Captain's Mai Tai which was made with natural real pineapple juice and good rum and not just a mixer. It was quite delicious. We were in some Rough Waters at one point with 5 to 6 foot waves but catamaran being so huge glided right through it. It was quite exhilarating. At one point we saw a whale off in the distance and the captain immediately turn the boat around to try to spot him. How exciting!! This is a great way to see part of Honolulu from the Oceanside. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it immensely and would do this again. read more

Past reviews say the mai thai is watered down (I think it's premade), I won't argue that, but the bartender suggested mixing the mai thai with a mango white claw - much better! I'm a local girl who lived here my whole life and until 2017 have never been on a catamaran. It took my friend (who's from the Midwest by the way) to invite me on this adventure. The staff was very courteous in taking our reservations and when we got there was treated no differently. It was obvious I was the local one (even though I didn't tell anyone I was from Oahu) because everyone who I spoke with opened their conversation with questions about Hawaii. My friend who's as Caucasian as can be, was totally taking advantage of the situation and didn't miss an opportunity to "play tourist" with me too. Anyway, the crew consisted of 3 (that's right 3) gun-blazing, 6-packing, shirtless local guys. They were not only appealing to the eye but offered a variety of comedic jokes that for sure entertained. (Safety rules were the best.) As we were sitting there a hunk-of-burning love was in the front with a monster board. Hold on to whatever, because that hunk was none other than Pro surfing champ and legend Jonny Boy Gomes who was hitching a ride to the surf on the outside of Waikiki. (In case anyone was wondering, hell to the yes did i get a photo with this surfing God. Who was very gracious btw ;) Once the distractions of the crew and JBG settled down, wow...the magnificent views that are Waikiki and Diamond Head emerged. It was spectacular. The ocean was calm and the breeze was just enough to enjoy a beautiful ride out to sea. The minutes went by so quickly. We wished it could've lasted much much longer. Had to order the Maitai and totally agree their specialty is delicious. What a life...nice views, and nicer views and good drinks with good company makes it worth saying - lucky I live Hawaii! I can't believe I hadn't done this sooner! We had so much fun on the sunset cruise! It was simply a blast! The crew was so friendly, entertaining, and accommodating. The mai tais are incredibly tasty and delicious and they're unlimited, which is totally worth the kama'aina price. The cruise itself was smooth and allows you to see great views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and Koko Head. There are little cubby-holes behind the seats to put your stuff away. I do recommend bringing a towel if you're going during high tide because it's likely that you'll get wet, especially if you sit on the edge. Definitely wear shorts/dress and something you don't mind getting wet because you do have to walk just a little bit in the water to get on the boat. If I could give them 6 stars I would! read more

Disclaimer: I did not actually use their services, but was witness to an incident involving their staff that I feel obligated to share. I would give ZERO stars if I could. I was having drinks at the Sheraton overlooking the shore right where the catamaran docks. There were two pairs of visitors who had clearly rented stand up paddle boards and decided to get into the water near the docked catamaran. Now I understand that may not be an ideal place for either party - but as a company and as employees in a customer service industry - I would expect the staff of the catamaran to politely help redirect or assist the tourists as much as possible. Instead, I witnessed very rude behavior from ALL members of their staff on that particular boat. At first they aggressively told the tourists to enter the water elsewhere, but not providing any suggestions or further assistance. I understand that is not their job to help with SUP novices, but have some tact. You don't rudely point elsewhere to people who most likely don't understand english and are just looking to have a good time. The tourists obliged and moved a little further down the Waikiki shore towards Diamond Head - but not wanting to move too far from their friends already docked on the beach, they didn't go too far from the original spot. Again, they were clearly trying SUP'ing for the first time - and the waves eventually pushed one of the pairs back towards the catamaran again. I have never tried SUP'ing myself, but I can't imagine it is that easy - from what I could tell they were doing everything they could to get further out and away from the catamaran. A member of their staff saw this, yelled at them overboard and demanded they move further out - which they were already attempting. At the very least, keep it at that. The staff member then intentionally filled a bucket of water and DUMPED it overboard on the pair and cowardly ran to the other side of the catamaran - WHAT A DOUCHE. I understand the tourists are in the water, that they will most likely get soaked anyway - but you do NOT do that to people who are just trying to have a good time. It clearly upset one the female of the pair - who got off and walked up to the catamaran asking to speak with someone onboard. She ended up initially with a gentleman who was not the man who dumped the water - yet he was very rude and didn't apologize at all. Instead he (now joined by the guy who did dump the water) yelled at the lady that she was getting too close to their boat - and in some fashion that she deserved what she got. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I am from Hawaii and you do not treat ANYONE, especially our visitors this way - particularly if you are in the tourist industry. I am so embarassed by the behavior of the staff and hope their actions did not ruin the toursists' visit to our island. The catamaran is docked and operates in one of the busiest beaches on the island - they don't have a private dock and in no way do they own the ocean or even the area that they are in! Nothing is coned off or marked off near the boat. Personally from a family that owns a business in Hawaii - I understand there are rules, regulations, and boundaries - but there are still ways to talk and interact with people in, at the VERY LEAST, polite or even decent manner. I am honestly surprised by all of the positive reviews for this business - it is clear that they fake it with only those that they are making money off of. They are not here to share in the aloha spirit in any form or fashion. Please avoid this at all costs - there are other options to enjoy similar experiences with whom I can only hope are better people. read more

The 4th of July Fireworks Sail included my favorite things: -Unlimited alcohol -Unobstructed view of spectacular fireworks over the Waikiki skyline -A sick ass playlist (John Mellencamp, anyone?) -Watching a fellow female passenger reach inside her man's shorts to grope his ass and likely his scrotum too It was well worth the $75 per person cost. For 1.5 hour you get the following: -Cheapest rates for sailing (we did the tradewind sail for $18 when you mention yelp) -Nicest guys on board. They play good music, make small talk with you (if you'd like) and don't make cheesy touristy jokes or anything. It's nothing but a laid back sail -Cheap drinks (cash only though; min. $15 if you use a card) There's basically two options for sailing: daytime & sunset sailing (which I think might cost a little more). The boat has a bathroom on deck too for you fellow Yelpers who have a small bladder. The boat is pretty good size so you don't feel crowded. Overall, this is the choice to go with. I went out on it just because it got such high ratings, and usually go out on the Na Hoku II, but it was out for repairs, so I thought I would try another boat. We went towards the end of August 2010. I'm a 25 yr old male. Pros: 1. Nice crew. We had 2 guys, real nice guys, very helpful. 2. Clean boat! Seems new, and safe! 3. Fun to get out on the water, see Waikiki from the water. 4. Good price at $18/person for 3pm cruise 5. Seemed like a lot of families, not a bunch of wild people getting drunk (maybe this happens on the sunset cruise?) Cons: 1. No restroom really to speak of, supposedly some 'portable' one, but nothing like the Na Hoku II , where you can drop down into an actual restroom with a toilet, men and women's. Don't drink too much on this cruise, or you'll be in bad shape. You would think they would want people to drink a lot, they would provide a restroom. 2. Mai Tai was 3 dollars. Mai tai on tap. It almost just tasted like orange juice with a very SLIGHT amount of alcohol. The Na Hoku II has FREE complimentary unlimited drinks! And they are bulk made, but the mai tai tasted better than this one. 3. No 'covered' area for when the water starts flying. When we got out in the rough ocean, the water starts flying over the bow of the boat and soaking everyone. There is really no where to hide to stay dry!! We got pretty wet! It gets rough far out there! Luckily the splashing doesn't last tooo long. But on the Na Hoku II there is a covered canopy area where you can stay dry if desired. It was a fine cruise, we went on the 3pm cruise, and paid 18/person. For the price, it wasn't bad but I feel the Na Hoku II is better, and unlimited drinks. Man I had a great time! Booked a cruise through Groupon! They have a really good deal going on right now. I paid about $40 for my fiancé and myself. We also took our little baby who just turned 1. Kids under 4 are free. The crew was the best. No corny tourist jokes here. They were friendly and informative whenever anyone had any questions. They were also extremely patient and caring when a couple people got a little motion sickness on the boat. Drinks are available on board for about $5 a drink. The maintains were surprisingly strong. Sunshine, trade winds and mist from splashing through waves... perfect cruise. We even saw a pod of spinner dolphins jumping out of the water!!! We decided to do this moonlight sail at the last minute. Call before 5 pm though, otherwise no one answers the phone. Or you have to find the girl on the beach in front of the Sheraton (the meeting place) and see if there are any tickets available. Luckily, there were still tickets available, which was great, and she just remembered my name and told me to meet her before the sail with the money. Easy. There was only 2 staff on board the boat: the captain and the first mate guy (forgot his name) who were both really cool and chill and just added to the easy going relaxing vibe. This was not a booze cruise by any means. I mean, you could've drank a lot, but most of the people on board were were relaxing and enjoying the night. The evening was perfect. Full moon over waikiki and diamond head, not too warm, not too breezy, really calm waters, and fireworks from the waikiki beach. Absolutely perfect. I definitely recommend! read more
