Franchises would explain a lot...because they have a 4.2 rating, but I'm wondering if two stars is too generous. Im in the southeastern pa area. I dont want to single out the location that services my account....and I wont get specific either. Other than to say, if you hire them...have ground rules before their aides enter your house. They eat and take whatever they want and sleep through their shift. They're always fashionably late. The relationship with management isn't any better. The other thing that is worrisome is the feeling theyre spiraling out of control. Maybe it's the nature if the home care business but it always feels like they're one or two small crisises away from the wheels falling off.

Mr Tony Bevin- Medi-Cal and VA Benefits Consultant. We hired him immediately after our first consultation seeing the wealth of great knowledge and experience he displayed . He immediately took charge following up with the skilled nursing facility and secured her safety and her room. A huge relief. He mentored us and directed us as to the process . He did the tackling and took the whole responsibility with the case workers on their level. Even after her passing when the case was in jeopardy he said " Its Not Over "! And he fought the governmental medi- cal dept. Nothing was sweeter than to receive his email that the case ended with a win for Aunt Sharon . There is no way unless you do this for a living that one could expediate and understand the lingo and facilitate it the way Mr. Tony Bevin did for us . We will forever be grateful . I believe because of his 30 years experience and knowledge in dealing with cases year after year he allowed us to bury her with respect and dignity in her final months. Moved my mom from another memory care in Poway to Silvergate Rancho Bernardo Memory care. Night and…read moreday difference. We are all very happy with Silvergate!! I am a registered nurse, and my standards are high. We have been very pleased with all of the staff, the caregivers and the leadership--as well as the activities and the meals. My mom loves being able to choose her meals (with help) from a menu. Everyone has been caring and have gone out of their way to be helpful to my mom. My mom has had several medical issues recently that required hospitalization. Both times the staff recognized my mom needed medical attention and acted on her needs appropriately. Not only that, they sent her a get well card with personal notes from the staff, and several of them have called to check and see how she's doing. I cannot tell you the peace of mind I have knowing that my mom is safe, well cared for and ENJOYING her life at Silvergate. We visit frequently (almost daily) and have never encountered anyone that wasn't kind or helpful. The staff always make you feel as if you and your loved one are important. Silvergate has also incorporated several family activities into their activity calendar (summer dinner on the patio with family) etc. Highly recommended Silvergate if you're looking for kind, compassionate and active memory where your loved one can enjoy their moments and activities. The facility and surroundings are modern and beautiful.

Although the facility is VERY nice, I was really surprised to see he was given a plate with several different types of foods mixed together. He kept asking what this was and what that was, and then he refused to eat. What really surprised me was that this is a facility that caters to older people. Gee, doesn't everyone know that children and very elderly people don't like their foods all mixed together? People like to identify what they're eating and the person who has dementia can't remember what all the foods are (and that they're safe to eat) if you can't identify them. It's just too confusing and it's one more bump in the road they don't deserve!
