Came here as part of my Go City Oahu pick and it was worth it! I'd do this again, no hesitation. The crew was super friendly and amazing. One of them offered to take photos for us. The catamaran gets very wavy so hold onto the rails. Beautiful views, relaxing, and there is a bar as well. There are two bathrooms as well on the catamaran. Book it! Super fun. read more

We had an amazing afternoon on the catamaran. I feel the directions ahead of time were clear and made for an easy and on time arrival. Pancho who oversaw the operations was pleasant to talk to and took pride in making a great experience for all. The catamaran itself was in pristine condition and provided a great view of the beach. You got a great view of Waikiki and you could see Diamond Head in the background along with the old light tower at the foot of that mountain. The trip itself went by super fast and I feel we could have been on that all day. They even upon our request cast to fishing lines with the hopes of reeling in a couple fish. The dolphin experience was incredible. I am not sure it could have been any better. We came upon a family of a 50-100 dolphins. I am sure that is not the normal. They loved swimming along and in between the boat. Incredible to say the least. read more

We had GoCity all-inclusive passes and chose to do the Makani Sunset Cruise as our premium activity, and it was a great choice! Unfortunately, with unpredictable tropical HI weather in December, we didn't witness a sunset given that it was completely cloudy and rained earlier in the day. But the overall experience was great and the staff was wonderful. They also had an open bar (free for those with the GoCity passes) with no limit on how many drinks you could order. Bartender made good drinks with proper shots. Our cruise was out on the water for only 1.5 hours and not the full 2 hours though, given how cold and windy it was. We did see a whale while we were out on the water though, which was nice. read more

The crew are awesome! We loved it so much we sailed the afternoon and sunset cruises two days in a row. With the Go City Oahu pass, you can book once a day (evening sail requires upgrade or use of premium pass which is included with 3+ days). We've sailed alongside spinner dolphins on our previous rides, but this last visit spotted sea turtles. The sunset cruise was perfect for our last night in Honolulu. The open car was a bonus. Very enjoyable evening. We did the sunset cruise. The boat is wonderful. We were one of the last to board so we thought we would get stuck with the worst seats. However. everyone who boarded before us sat on the benches inside and we ended up standing by the stairs. After the briefing the captain told us we could go up top for the ride. Since I was by the stairs I was the first one up and we sat right on the webbing over the water and were able to lean against the canvas cover. I was an amazing ride. Unfortunately, there was a storm rolling in for the next day so we did not see a good sunset. However, we did get to see a few whales. Drinks were provided on our package and we brought sandwiches for dinner. It was an amazing ride. I would highly recommend it. read more

Really great experience. Parking: is right by the boats. At the end of a la Moana park. Another idea is to park at Whole Foods and there are tons of restaurants in that area to eat at. Ans just walk to the marina if you have time. They like you to be a bit early because whenever it says your boat is leaving they can't wait for you, because they're on a system with the other boats in the marina and being late will mess up that sync. I went 02/19/21 so they still don't have a buffet. I got the open bar. And they have a huge selection of drinks! We brought some chips and dip and it was perfect. I believe our captains were captain: John, Poncho, and Matt. (I can't super remember the last guy, but really wanna say it's matt). Capt John, and capt Poncho were the main ones that interacted with my family. They sat on the deck and pointed out whales and parts of honolulu that we were passing. Poncho was the main one who did our drinks and they were excellent! Really fun trip!! Bathrooms are small so my pregnant friends recommend that I say to mentally prepared for that! read more

Meh...great for the over 70 crowd. Super low key ride on the water. Only water from a Coleman cooler is included with price of your ticket of the afternoon cruise. No real interaction with crew unless you go to the bar to buy a drink otherwise just a ride on the water. This was my second cruise in Waikiki and had a far more entertaining, enjoyable experience on Mai Tai company cruise. I can see why they were sold out and this was available for same day booking. Next time I will be more prepared and plan in advance. Lesson learned. read more

Got this with my Go Oahu pass and it was prob my favorite thing to do. The boat ride was very relaxing and had great views. I got a good spot, but when I went to get drinks it was stolen. It was okay because there were many other places to sit that also had good views. The drinks were decently priced- I think I spent $7 on a Mai Tai and pops were $4. (For $7 you can get a pop in a cool cup and free refills). We saw lots of turtles and even some whales! The tour guide, Gabriel, was very informative and even talked with us after the tour about Hawaii and sites to see. He was really cool! Def made the trip worth while! (Plus he was a pretty good bartender!) We also had Captain John who was a great captain! I couldn't recommend this more! read more

They were the bomb!! The crew were friendly and accommodating and not too Pushy trying to sell stuff or for tip. Actually they got people going for singing a happy birthday song for friend's daughter. They did not even mention tip at the end )all others I've been on did... multiple times). The catamaran was well maintained and looked new, it was a smooth sailing and Judy enough excitement in the front of you sat on the net. The one we did was 2hour cruise from Kewalo's to just passed the Diamond Head. It didn't have a swim time but it's ok. We were prepared for the beach afterwards! You get to see all of Waikiki, Royal Hawaiian Hotel stands prominent in the middle still in bright pink, to Olympic Pool and Diamond Head. Just when you start to see Koko Heads, they turn around. I loved these guys out of several I've tried recent years. read more

Thanks to Oahu Go Card, my mom and I went sailing on Makani Catamaran with advance reservations for a Friday at 2pm. For the afternoon sail, we got really lucky to see whales and sea turtles. Gorgeous views of Waikiki and Diamond head. Lots of great places on the boat to take pictures of the island and of yourselves lol Luckily, I didn't get sea sick and the boat doesn't get very rocky either. The captain and his crew were all very nice and informative. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available to purchase but we did not. We had a really great time out on the catamaran! We had the best time on this cruise! Went twice in one week! Sunset and daytime! Grab the $8 cup for sure! Free refills. Now... When you want a great drink you gotta ask for "Malia's Tequila Sunset". She created a Tequila Sunset with a splash of pineapple on her first day of pouring. We dubbed it "The Malia" and it's on the board now! Ask for it by name!
