The service - my BFF and I dropped in, excited about Hawaiian coffee and what should be aloha spirit - far far from what happened. We asked for ingredient information about the pastries - marked gluten free - since my friend has specific food allergies. The (manager?) said the pastries are not made in house but our purchase from an outside bakery. So we asked for the name of the bakeries so we could look up the ingredients online, and the manager stiffly told us that they don't give out that information. It was more than just a response, it was rude and full of attitude. I wanted to leave at that point, but my friend wanted to stay and try the coffee. Although the big crowd was behind us and not in front of us, delivery of the order still took about 15 minutes, and the ice was mostly melted. Normally, I would've just asked for more ice, but at that point, I was completely disappointed and couldn't wait to leave. Considering that there was about seven people working behind the counter I was surprised that delivery of the order of our two simple drinks took about 15 minutes maybe longer. I read another review from the same day Sunday Father's Day, I don't see how they were closing early considering that the place was packed. Another disappointment. Amazing atmosphere, drinks, and friendly staff. One of the best coffee places in town.

Much anticipated new coffee spot in SCV. With this place only being open for about a week, expect long lines and crowds. The menu is extensive and slightly overwhelming, but it's nice that they offer a variety of coffees, teas, frozen drinks and even soda. You might want to download the menu while you wait in line as the print is super small and you can't see the details until you get right at the front. The food items are limited to breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, and cupcakes, but we are all there for the drinks anyway. Plus, you can place your order at Makenna's then head over next door to Flying Yolk to have a heartier meal. There is a decent amount of indoor seating with a cute little swing and conversation nook. The outdoor patio is beautiful with newly planted banana leaves and white couches to bring the island vibe to SCV. They attempted to put up some umbrellas, but our winss knocked them down pretty quick. The drinks are definitely Hawaiian inspired and the owner will flash you a "hang loose" all day, but the beautiful lineup staff is more Malibu than Maui. Either way, they are all very friendly and are working super hard to get your orders out quickly. They do have a shelf to the side for all online orders so you can avoid the long lines. But since we are here for the drinks anyway, let's get to it! The drinks are amazing! If you like your coffees and teas on the sweeter side then this is the place for you! I love that we don't have to pay for the extra pump of vanilla to make your coffee sweeter because it already is! My first time here I got the Honey Bee Latte and it was like dessert. So creamy and sweet. The second time here I brought my girls and we were able to order a variety of different drinks to try. We got the Spiced Chai with 2% Milk, Vanilla Chai with Oat Milk, Peach Sweet Tea, and the Cotton Candy Freeze. None of the drinks disappoint, all were very well crafted with flavors in mind. You have your choice of creamers for your coffee and also have a choice of whipped cream to top. You can get hot or cold for the coffee and tea items with sizes of 12oz, 16oz, or 24oz. We'll definitely make our way back here. Weekends are crazy busy and be warned that if you come on Sundays when the church is in session, parking will be quite limited. read more

I adjusted the day to swing back and get it at that time and 10mins past that 40min mark and the one latte I ordered was still not ready and people waiting around were telling me they'd been waiting over an hour and easily 20mins over their pick up time. I highly recommend ordering ahead online to skip the long lines they have in the morning, but this place is something to look into. First off I'm picky when it comes to my coffee being from the seattle area but the coffee here is average at best it's mild not strong. Paid $5,75 for a medium double shot iced americano w/ a splash of almond milk for .75 cents extra crazy expensive! Service is slow the place is busy but took 15 min for my drink. Nothing really stands out here other than it being in a pretty convenient location with plenty of parking. It's just a regular coffee shop. I've gone a few times, and the line can be outrageous. I'm pretty patient, but I don't think it's worth waiting 20+ mins for a cup of coffee and a small snack, and half of the workers seem to be goofing around each time I've gone. i checked this place out about a month ago for the very first time on my way home from ventura. i had read that the coffee was good and there was a huge selection of drinks so why not. it is definitely a super cute place, pretty decor, nice merch, and pretty good tasting coffee. however, im not sure who's idea it was to hire an entire cheerleading squad to work there but the people behind the bar are so rude and they don't even greet you when you come in, they just stare at you. the girl taking my order was rushing me to make a decision even after i had told her i have never been there before. she just kept looking me up and down. there are way too many people working behind the bar and yet they just stand there talking. i think overall this place is great, but the staff needs to tighten up those loose ends on their customer service along with being more productive and i think this place could be more successful. read more

Our new favorite place for coffee! The drinks are delicious and the staff is super friendly. Our current favorite is the Sandy Blonde, but we love The Legend as well. My experience at this place was very unpleasant. It's pretty much just another overpriced coffee place that sells awful coffee. My husband and I ordered 2 coffees, I got a latte, he got an iced coffee. I swear to God, both of those coffees tasted like plain water. There wasn't even a hint of coffee. We literally had to toss them out. If you can't afford to put actual coffee in people's cups, maybe you're in the wrong business? I hate to say this, but Starbucks tastes better. Been here a few times now over the weekend and hands down the yummiest coffee in town. This weekend we ordered two drinks one with less ice and got the same level of ice. Just figured they didnt put that in the order. Today I ordered online two of the same drinks. One with 1/4 cup ice and I was charged $.75 which i dont mind paying but.... I got the same amount of ice as the regular one. So that was disappointing and kinda a waste of money for me to pay extra for less ice only to get the normal amount ice. So i know for the future to order with no ice since i keep getting the same amount of ice as normal and getting charged extra. read more

I don't understand the hype of this place. I went on a Tuesday morning, it was very busy. Plenty of parking. Quick service. They have an extensive coffee menu. I went with a sugar latte and egg sandwich. They have you punch in your phone number so you receive text when it's ready. I sat at the back end to wait. Inside was crowded. The counter where they place ready orders is messy. Took about 10 minutes to receive items. I sat outside, there are plenty of tables, a lot of trash cans and people do seem to pick up after themselves. Drink was all right, egg sandwich was saved by the prepackaged hot sauce offered.
