Armando, Michael and Darrin came to pick up our stuff, the arrival window was 8-11 and they came at 8:30am and communicated they were on their way. They were easy going, professional and informative. We had wrapped up our furniture to protect it because of poor reviews we read of things getting damaged but they came and used moving blankets to wrap the furniture then plastic wrap and duck tape!! Each item was packaged this way. We had 20 boxes plus living room and so bedroom furniture and it took 3 hrs. Overall we were very impressed and pleased with the pickup service! read more

I used to love this service 2 years ago for their great rates but have been slapped with significant increase in prices, not to mention the lack of care for your items. Alot of my items have had dings, scratches and they are impossible to deal with when submitting a claim. Don't get this service. You might as well pay for a full service moving company. read more

Updated: now four stars because of Alex and the team's hard work when they arrived. Alex worked really hard to fix the issues highlighted below. The team was able to come back at the end of the the day, despite a lot of challenges figuring out alternatives. They were very professional and careful, just like the other comments suggested. They even double wrapped items as they were packing them up. I didn't have a lot of stuff, so but I appreciate the care in handling. Original: Had an appt set up from 0800-1100 this morning. I called three weeks ago making sure that my number was associated with the account and so did my father in law, whose name is on the account. Moved my car and had all of the boxes staged in my garage with the garage open at 0730. Made this as easy of a pick up as possible. I called at 0930 asking for an eta and was told that the movers came and was unable to reach my father in law (the person on the account) and then left. They didn't call my number, didn't ring my doorbell, didn't knock on the door, nor attempt to walk up to the open garage. I checked all three camera footages from my security camera and door bell and nobody came by. Alex at MS said that he would figure out what happened and call me back. I tried calling Ms a few times and took most the day to get an answer. Alex claimed he didn't receive my phone number until this morning. I have a text from him on 20 Mar confirming my phone number. I have work this afternoon and will be unable to reschedule. Not sure what the disconnect was, but judging by the other reviews, my pickup wasn't a priority to them. read more

Being a single mom, and having to move is extremely stressful. Osmin and Oscar M came in with friendly smiles and were extremely helpful. I was able to take care of my baby while they moved around the house and got everything out efficiently and quickly. I've never had a moving company use such due diligence. Everything was packed up so well that I'm not worried about items being broken in transit. I love that the app shows me pictures of all the items I have in my storage unit. I have to honestly say that we had an awesome experience with make space San Diego. Our movers were Nikko and Kevin and they did an outstanding job. They safely boxed every one of our items. They shrank wrapped every single thing that did not fit in a box and took their time to make sure everything was safely and properly stored. They did a great job moving our larger items like our bed and couch (carried them out of our appt in a tight space down a flight of stairs) and even covered them in blankets before wrapping them. I'm addition to the whole pickup not costing us anything Nikko and Kevin were awesome guys to work with and they were very efficient the entire time they were working. As opposed to renting a Uhaul and doing the whole move ourselves I was shocked how cost efficient and time saving it was to go with make space. Absolutely recommend this service to anyone who needs make a move big or small. And especially with Nikko and Kevin, your stuff is in great hands. read more

I am soooo impressed with this company. I made an Appt for pickup for a 3 bedroom house full of stuff about 2 months ago. Realized the day before I had underestimated my belongings, they made accommodations to keep my scheduled time. Everyone I talked to on the phone was great. Movers showed up on time and were super friendly. It was determined that I had still underestimated my stuff so they ended up having to bring another truck (make sure you wayyy overestimate) and they were so nice about it. They packaged everything very well and brought enough blankets and materials for the big stuff. Highly recommend using them!! My movers were Armando, Oscar, and Michael- they were the best! This was the most convenient moving service I've ever had, I've been stressed all week and this definitely relieved a lot of stress. I'm doing a 4 month remodel and am keeping some furniture but moving the rest on. Also, while I had addressed my clothes issue, I needed a bunch of small, unbreakable things stored for the 4 months and their green bag "pack" before they come solution works pretty well. Makespace is a good solution for storing my stuff for the 4 months while I move out and then get it delivered when floors, tile and new counters have been installed. They just came today and Joshua, Mekiah and Mike were professional, efficient, worked well together and did a good job of working with me given that the stuff and furniture had to carried/dollied out of a condo complex of more than 60 units. I think this is a great new service for Iron Mountain storage. read more

The team that shows up at your house are great (you think)! They shrink wrap and act all concerned about your items. They ask you for a YELP review before they leave. The app requests you to tip them as soon as they leave-$20/person at least. Then....they mishandle your belongings! This has been a NIGHTMARE! An iron floor lamp was so badly bent up if I ever wish to use it I will have to take it to a welder. All of my furniture was damaged. Floor mirrors-broken! Wall pictures-destroyed! Leather chairs scraped against concrete! It's like they my items were in a dump truck and they just dumped it in their warehouse and swept it to the end. BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They are not even movers ! They are a warehouse who has lost their primary business and are trying to use their buildings for something to make money taking advantage of trusting people who believe the reviews they solicit at your house-not after the transaction. Don't even get me started on the lies they tell you about their pricing and charges for picking up! STEER CLEAR! I chose these idiots as I have a back injury and limited funds. Big thanks to Armando (and his team), Josh, Mike, and Sergio for your diligent work; leaving no scratches or dents on the structure. It was super nice to witness how carefully you guys handle my stuff. I also appreciate courteous and professional attitude of the Space Makers, which I hardly find in the industry. One thing I haven't fully understand (though it is super minor) is conditions of their storage. Some of the carton boxes came back with moisture on surface. I was very happy when I decided to rent storage with MakeSpace. They never raised my rent as I was locked into the price which was reasonable. The San Diego location somehow merged with Clutter and that's when my problems started. I never really requested items from my storage facility but eventually I needed some items. With MakeSpace, delivery was 75.00 but since the merge, I was charged double to deliver some items. By now, My eyes brows were starting to raise. I decided to just find another storage facility as I didn't want to pay triple to deliver items than I actually pay for the unit. Sorry, I am not rich and I do have to look at my budget each month. I was quoted a price so far fetched that I was starting to wonder could I afford to have my stuff delivered to the new facility to move out. The moral of my review, the new company Clutter came in and literally tripled the price to have items delivered and to pay the movers. When I moved across the country, the movers were not paid almost 100 an hour!!!! read more

Hands down the best moving / storage company I have ever used. I was really nervous about having to store an entire house during a renovation but these movers were amazing. They were tedious in how they packed up and photographed everything. I did not anticipate wanting to recall any of my items, but the process was so easy I ended up having them deliver a few things I didn't realize we would need, and take a few items I no longer wanted to store in our rental. I just requested the delivery of some of my items. They have a 1 hour free for delivery, hence it was seamless and cost free, as the cost is included in the monthly storage fee.
