I want to start by prefacing that I'm not a fan of Mediterranean food in general. However, I felt this review is needed just based off the incredible service they provide. I've been to many restaurants in Dearborn and the service is just lacking. This was not the case for my experience here. Wait staff were incredibly attentive and inviting. We were checked on repeatedly to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is super welcoming and inviting, and the decor is absolutely beautiful. They definitely poured a lot of love into this place and are committed to providing great service. 10/10 for service for sure. The sharwarma I ordered was just ok, but honestly it's a lot better than many I've had. And again, I'm biased with Mediterranean food in general. The fries were pretty good. read more

New spot here in downtown Dbn. Went with my boss and colleague and as usual took the shuttle over to Michigan Avenue, super convenient. My boss ordered the Lamb Shish kebab sandwich lunch medium cooked with fries. My colleague ordered the Chicken kebab lunch with rice, salad and an unsweetened tea with light ice. My boss had a Mountain Dew. I ordered their Salmon gallayah on hummus (up charge) and spiced up with a salad and they gave me a side of veggies since I got it over hummus. My boss enjoyed his lamb sandwich and his crispy fries. My colleague also enjoyed her chicken kebab lunch with her salad and rice, they brought her fries at first but brought out the rice quickly afterwards and gave her the fries too. The fries were nice and crispy and crunchy, well fried and not greasy at all. My salmon gallayah was good, had a bit of spice to it, nicely played and did a decorative touch to the hummus on the platter. It came on a platter. The side of vegetables was also grilled and was good. I like their spicy garlic sauce and they have an oven to bake their own pita pockets. Portions are good here. read more

Absolutely delicious! Fabulous service and lovely patio area! We originally were walking to a different restaurant but we followed this amazing smell of food to here! We had the tomato kibbee, hummus, fatuous salad and lamb liver and rice. Everything was so flavorful, fresh and you could taste the individual ingredients in each dish. We had the lemon mint juice and can't wait to explore the rest of the menu and juices! Also fun and unique is their garlic paste. First they have the tradition which is already strong and wonderful, but a spicy version too! Great find and can't wait to go back, especially to sit outside. read more

The first time I tried this restaurant was at Ramadhan 2022. We got generous portion of food. I thought it was because of Ramadhan, but actually that's the way they serve food there. A non-stop little hot bread, big portion of fattoush salad, and oh so yummy grilled chicken and kabobs. When you eat Middle Eastern food, you're supposed to be happy, because that's their nature: happy food, happy people. And all you can find it in this restaurant. They represent Middle Eastern atmosphere very well, with its delicious and generous food and also friendly staffs that greet us warmly. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the food we had here. This was the best kibbee nayee I have ever had. The hummus, babaganoush, and tabouli were delicious as ever. They served hot, fresh out the oven bread with a side of garlic and spicy garlic sauce. Gotta love a place that does that! The meat grape leaves tasted wonderfully. While Dearborn is renowned for its food scene, this place is the undisputed champion for middle eastern food. This place was crazy busy when we arrived on a Saturday evening. Our server was kind and very helpful with menu questions despite serving 6 different tables at once. The fresh bread was AMAZING, not to mention free refills (we got 3 baskets) and came with an original and sliced garlic sauce (I would buy containers of the spiced one if they sold it!) Thé value is also quite good. If you don't have a large appetite, one entree could easily feed two people, especially since the entree also comes with soup or salad. I got the lamb gallayah, which was lamb and mixed vegetables with a side of rice. All three of us ate till we were stuffed and still had lunch for the next day! I'd love to come back to try their sandwiches, which looked quite large as well. Great work Malek Al-Kabob! I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. read more

This place used to be a favorite of ours but no longer. We were looking forward to a great meal last night however the quality was terrible. Chef was too lazy to roast the eggplant for babagnosh. Schwarma plate was equally disappointing - who serves chopped up green pickles as the veggie? The atmosphere was on par with a fast food place. Came to Dearborn for a wedding and the next day I was invited by friends and family the next day for lunch here. The food was good but, what stood out to me more was the service. I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and service! Ordered a carry out from here two days in a row, not only was everything perfectly packaged and organized but they didn't miss a single thing. The place is absolutely stunning! Well lit, clean and organized! Every server I passed walking into to get my carry out was smiling and polite. The back half out door dining is tucked away and feels secluded enough from the busy Dearborn night life. I'm super picky about my middle eastern food, I worked at a place for two years that literally did every single thing in house. Pretty good spot for Mediterranean food. Ordered the Greek salad with a shawarma plate with half chicken and half lamb with fries. Very good food and the wait staff was very polite. Had plenty to take home for later. I had to park about a block away because there is no street parking out front, but not a deal breaker for me. read more

Fine dining service was not even close to the service that was provided by Khalil and this amazing restaurant. I've had many cuisines from many cultures and this food is the best I've had. I was excited to try this place because it was raved about on Instagram. Came here with my nieces for lunch. We had some hummus tabouli and baba which were good. I ordered the chicken lemon stir fry I believe and it was delicious. My niece ordered beef kabob and it was super over cooked, no one asked how we liked the meat cooked. It was dry. We also got raw kibbeh which was also super dry and not flavorful, also no olive oil was provided. Overall this is why I chose 3/5 stars. read more

My favorite place to eat in Dearborn. Everything on the menu is 10/10. Service is fantastic. You get your food super quick. Large portions. All the servers are phenomenal and so kind. Food is DIVINE ! they have a lemon chicken soup that doesn't appear on the menu, but if you ask for it, they'll get it for you. I craveeeee that soup all the time. Was visiting from out of town, stopped for lunch before flying out. Got a shawarma wrap, bbq combo platter for 2, but really feeds 6, and mint lemon polo drink. The best polo I've had in a long time. Malek Al Kabob has its ups and downs. The staff is very accommodating and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant overall. They were attentive and helpful, ensuring our needs were met during the meal. However, the food didn't quite hit the mark for me. The falafel was disappointingly dry, lacking the crispiness and flavor I was expecting. The mango lassi also wasn't great--it tasted a bit off and didn't have that fresh, sweet mango flavor I enjoy. Extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Malek Alkabob. The chicken served was grey, rubbery, and unappetizing. Even the half chicken order yielded just one sad piece of chicken breast. Additionally, despite requesting fresh pita bread, we were given a stale, prepackaged one. This visit was a far cry from our previous amazing experiences here. The quality of food served was shockingly poor, and it's disheartening to see such a decline in standards. Hope the management takes note and makes necessary improvements. read more

I'm a Californian who visited this restaurant in mid-July, and it's now mid-August, I'm still thinking about it. It was that good. The food genuinely brought me back to the motherland. The mishawi was top tier. And don't get me started on the bread with the toum. So yummy. The service was okay, nothing special, but honestly, I can overlook it because the food delivered. My only feedback is that the vegetarian grape leaves felt overpriced for just four pieces. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. read more

Visiting our Detroit-area family for the first time, we had the honor and privilege of having a meal at Malek Al Kabob in Dearborn. My husband and I were staying close-by and found the restaurant on Yelp. The puffed bread and garlic dip were just out of this world. Very unclean and very anti-jewish. i wore a yarmulke here and in the middle of my vegan meal the owner came out and yelled something about beepers and how hizbollah is so brave for killing druze children at a soccer field. I have hired an attorney because they threw me out saying i was a dirty jew. read more
