While Malibu's burgers may not be the best burger I've had, it's pretty up there for me and it's definitely the best plant based burger I've had. I got the Malibu burger and the patty was nice and crispy. The construction of the burger overall was done really well; there was a great balance of ingredients, all of them great quality. I didn't try any but it seems like there is a great selection of milkshake flavors. Definitely eyeing the ube or guava. I'll be back for sure.

I finally got to visit Malibu at their 'new' (I know, it's not that new anymore) location and the burgers are tasty as ever. I really don't crave burgers much these days, but Malibu is the exception. The La Lulu is my favourite--the 'chicken' tastes great and the trimmings make it even more delicious. Plus, the tots and salad make for excellent sides. This space is bigger than Piedmont's, with ample seating inside (and even some parklet spots out front.) Ordering is easy, with both options at a kiosk and with a person at the counter. Food comes out fast. Can't wait to make it back over the bridge and have another!

Delicious vegan burgers located close to lake Merritt! I love that this place offers a children's menu, and the burger comes with apple juice and a shake. They offer a few different toppings and are so yummy. My kids tried the cookies and cream and classic chocolate syrup, my kids enjoyed it after their food, so I didn't get a good pic of them but I tasted both. We came on a busy night, but my daughter noted the food and shake was well worth the wait. Good vibes, indoor seating, and overall great service! Support this Black owned, small business, all vegan restaurant in Oakland. :)

Love their milkshakes! I can't have dairy and it's been hard to find places that have non-dairy milkshakes! I ordered the cookies n cream shake and it was delicious! I liked that it wasn't too thick but still thick enough to still be a shake. The shakes are on the small side but I think it's healthier that way. I can enjoy it and not over eat/drink. I want to try the different flavors next time!

Never order from here, EVER. I ordered the chicken sandwich. Worst chicken sandwich I ever had in my life. I've had bacon thicker than this piece of garbage. Spent 55$ for two meals. BOGUS

My daughter and I have followed Malibu's Burgers on Instagram ever since they closed their doors on their previous Oakland site. We have waited patiently for their return to Oakland. Last weekend, after her dance practice, we finally had our favorite burgers. I ordered a Tasha Burger with Hella Hella Fries while my daughter opted for a La Lulu chicken burger with Stadium Fries. We waited along with another pair of customers in the open modern seating area. We were thrilled when our compostable tray made its way to our table after a short wait. Heavenly! Nothing beats Malibu's for vegan goodness. I made a point of telling our hostess/owner how grateful we are that they are back in the Town. We will absolutely be coming through. Sundays offer free street parking so we nabbed a perfect spot down the street.

Malibu hits EVERY TIME! Burgers are perfection. Buns and patties are crispy and perfectly grilled. Sauce in burger is phenomenal. AND they have soft serve with the kid meals! It's so good! Creamy and not too sweet. Best burgers in the Bay Area!

The Malibu burger was fantastic! Chicken tenders were good, the smaller one was a little dry. Not a huge fan of the ube habanero sauce. Tarot tots were good, a pinch of salt would help. We were hoping for the stadium fries but they didn't have any. The cookies and cream milkshake was fantastic. We'll definitely be back. Service was quick and you order on a touchscreen so their is no rush. Plenty of places to sit inside and they also have outdoor seating.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. My order was given to the wrong customer, which suggests that the server or manager, Ray, didn't double-check the order numbers. While they made a new order to attempt to fix the mistake, the resolution felt a bit rushed and sloppy. The waitress Liz wasn't unfriendly, but her demeanor didn't come across as warm or welcoming--there just wasn't much of an inviting energy. Maybe it was me, but I didn't feel like a valued customer. The food also didn't have the same quality or care as the location on Piedmont. With all that in mind, I don't think I'll be returning.

A hefty burrito bowl and a few pink tortillas to dig into it with, that is plant based Mexcellence. There are exactly zero seats in this establishment, which I'm fine with because most of the time I'm getting RRV off of DoorDash, and the rest of the time I'm taking it to my nearby home anyway. Don't expect to lounge around and soak up the atmosphere in here is what I'm telling you. That's fine. The lake is right there. I'm a somewhat new pescatarian who also seems to be getting more and more lactose intolerant as I age, so I'll happily eat vegan to avoid the perils of cheese and cream. I grew up in a Mexican-American household, and since a typical Mexican restaurant is so meat and dairy centric, I was worried I'd be forever relegated to shrimp and fish burritos sans dairy and porkless nopales forever if I needed a fix. I've come to enjoy RRVs plant based dairy and meat alternatives quite a bit. The cauliflower surprised me. It isn't wearing a cheeky wink wink nudge nudge meat costume, it's just straight up crispy (breaded?) cauliflower. Great in tacos. Now for the Rico Rico MVP, the green sauce. Some variant of the newly trendy (thanks for that Cheeseboard, sincerely, more green sauce is a great thing) but steadfast staple of taquerias and Mexican food grocery aisles forever, I've used leftover packets on anything from ramen to pizza. I'm guessing it's avocado/tomatillo/cilantro/lime based? Whatever it is, I want to buy it by the half gallon. Don't get me wrong, the red sauce is nice, but the green sauce elevates anything it touches. Like most takeout Mexican, service is fast and efficient, but like I mentioned, Rico Rico Vegano is a "both my wife and I worked a full day and are exhausted" staple meal so the service tends to be moot. I bet they're friendly to DoorDash drivers too. If any of this sounds good to you but you wish they served meat and dairy...you're in for a pleasant discovery. I wish that the in-store menu was as colorful as the online menu. I would have loved the coconut horchata, but I must have missed that when I was looking at the menu. When I was composting my plate I saw that they were making fresh orange juice as well. Yum! I was really pleased with the bottle of sparkling water I had but will opt for something a little more fun to drink on my next visit. A front row parking spot might be tricky with the limited parking on the street, but it was possible to find a spot nearby on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Easy to order, friendly service, and food was brought to our table. No seating inside, but it was a lovely day and there are a few tables outside for dining. Of course, Lake Merritt is basically across the street so you could always order to-go and picnic over there. I lost count, but there were a number of pick-up orders while we

I like that they have a patio area, but it's been full each time I've been, so I haven't had a chance to sit outside. The staff is kind, though they tend to be a bit slow when taking orders at the front. I guess it's nice that they don't rush things, but it can be a bit frustrating when the line is long and they're chatting with each person ordering, which feels like forever. However, once you sit down, the food is delivered quickly. During my first visit, I ordered the Lobster Roll with fries, a donut to-go, and we shared an order of Fried Mozzarella Sticks. The donut was very mild; I've had way better vegan donuts, so I wouldn't get one again. I thought the lobster roll was good, but not great. It did not remind me of a lobster roll at all and was too acidic in my opinion, so I wouldn't get that again either. I loved the mozzarella sticks, though. As a vegan, that typically dislikes vegan cheese, they were a hit. My non-vegan best friend loved them too! During my second visit, I ordered a Jalapeño Business sandwich with potato salad, rocky road to-go, and mozzarella sticks to share since I loved them so much the first time. My friend got a Buffalo Ranch Fried Chicken sandwich, and we decided to swap halves to try more things. I love spicy food, so if I had to choose a favorite, I'd pick my sandwich over hers, but both sandwiches were fantastic! The potato salad was good, but kind of bland for my taste. The rocky road was so yummy, and like last time, the mozzarella sticks did not disappoint. I love supporting fully vegan restaurants and will definitely go back to try more items on the menu. Maybe brunch next time I'm in the area? Not sure, but I highly recommend dropping by. Whether you're vegan or not, they have something tasty for everyone. Back then, it was located on the main floor of a hotel on Geary St. in the heart of Union Square, back when downtown SF was a bustling and busy epicenter of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there, I went back for all my special occasions: anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations. One day, the lease was up, and you found your new permanent home in Oakland. The vibes and atmosphere changed, but the food remained just as iconic. Unfortunately, it was now at least 1 hour commute for me by public transportation, so I stopped going consistently. Now, you are closing your doors after 30 years of serving your vegan community. Some say that it is another casualty of the decline of veganism. Some say that it was inevitable. But I say, give me a list of restaurants in the Bay Area that have survived 30+ years, even with a cross-bay relocation. And ESPECIALLY for a vegan restaurant. I call that a success. I went for the last time this week and ordered the 5-course chef's tasting menu PLUS 2 additional appetizers. As expected, everything was absolutely delicious. Those crusted fried mushroom appetizers are so divine. The BBQ Tempeh melted in your mouth. I will miss it all so. There have been too many times in recent years when my favorite vegan restaurant announces its closure, and I've been heartbroken one too many times. Wishing the staff of Millennium all the best and that this isn't the final chapter. I look forward to what Chef Eric Tucker and his team will do next, and we will be there to support you all when that happens.

Thoroughly confused - she didn't even call my name to confirm so I had to go up to her and ask. No apology either. Was seated at the counter where solo diners usually sit. Service was non existent. Server came up to me and ask "what would you like to order?" I've never been there before. No "hi my name is ... I'll be your server" nada. They're just a machine - people in people out. The ramen - broth was fine. The squiggly noodles aren't my favorite. Expected to have kernel corn but had corn ribs instead (good thing I'm good with chopsticks!) The charshu was just okay. Enoki topping was just ... aight. The nice touch was that they didn't put it in the ramen and served it on the side to preserve its crunchiness because it definitely needed the texture!
