    Inside. Condiment and sauce bar.

Mumu Hot Pot at Bay Street Emeryville (shopping district) was great. Just a really solid hot pot experience in general and one of the better hot pot restaurants I've been to in recent memory. This place is popular. We had a party of eight and showed up on a Saturday just before 5:30 PM. We were seated in less than 10 minutes, but had to split up into two adjacent booths. If we wanted to sit together, we would've had to wait longer. The dining room was packed with groups of all sizes, including a large birthday party. Each table has a QR code for menu, ordering, and payment. So, our family of eight ordered and paid as two separate tables. Each person gets their own mini hot pot. Here's what our table of four ordered: Drinks / Mumu's Tea: * Green Grape Four Season Tea ($6.50) - medium sweet, "hand-crafted with fresh fruits" Combos: The Classic (for 2, $75.00) * Tom Yum broth * Sukiyaki broth * Australian M6-M7 Wagyu Beef Chuck Eye Roll * Australian M6-M8 Wagyu Beef Toro * Prime Black Angus Beef Flat Iron * Cuttlefish * Beef Tendon * Fish Tofu * Vermicelli * Udon Noodle * Veggie Platter (large) The Classic (for 2, $75.00) * Yuzu Shio broth * Sukiyaki broth * Australian M6-M7 Wagyu Beef Chuck Eye Roll * Prime Black Angus Beef Flat Iron * Australian M6-M8 Wagyu Beef Toro * Fresh Beancurd Stick * Fried Beancurd Rolls * Beef Tripe * Udon Noodle * House Ramen * Veggie Platter (large) If I recall correctly, the Veggie Platters included enoki mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, pumpkin, napa cabbage, spinach, baby bok choy, lettuce, and broccoli. They did not include winter melon, bamboo shoots, or taro, which you can order separately. After tax and automatic gratuity (18%), this dinner for four cost $201.10. All of the ingredients were fresh and the meat, in particular, was high quality and delicious. Top-notch hot pot. The only thing that our table wasn't a fan of was the Tom Yum broth. I don't recommend it. The other broths - Sukiyaki and Yuzu Shio - were very good. Also, the Green Grape Four Season Tea was just okay. My sister's family likes this restaurant which is why we came here. They like it not only because the food is good, but because the restaurant is spacious and clean, which I generally agree with. The restroom that I used wasn't very clean, though. Service was fine. The guy clearing tables was nice. There was a sign on the wall that said if you post a Yelp review about this place before you leave, you get a free ice cream. My niece pointed it out to me and wanted me to do it so I could get her an ice cream, but I wanted to leave one of my usual detailed reviews afterwards. We parked in the pay garage at the other end of Bay Street. Mumu does not validate. There are seven Mumu Hot Pot locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. This location was the fifth to open and opened on May 3, 2024. The original location opened in Pleasanton in 2018.

We came on a Thursday night around 7PM and was surprised to see that it was pretty busy. I had put my name on a waitlist, but didn't had to wait long, 10 minute tops. We ordered the $75 combo for two. It came with 3 meats along with our other selections and a platter of veggies. I really liked the meat here! You can tell it's higher quality than that of AYCE places, and the meat melted in my mouth. I also really liked my broth (Szechuan spicy) and thought it wasn't too overpowering. You can pay via your phone and don't have to wait for the check. The waiters came by frequently to fill up on our broth and water which was really nice.

the only thing that was a bit of a letdown was that this is not ayce, however the quality really made up for that. we ordered the medium set, which is their premium wagyu set. came with veggies, choice between noodles/rice, 3 types of wagyu, and soup choice. I mean the meat? buttery. the marbling and color on each slice was picture-perfect, the veggies slowly melted into our pots with the most flavorful tomyum broth I've had in a while. it was indeed quite spicy but delicious nonetheless. I love the way the bowls of broth go into the table with vents so you don't walk out smelling like hotpot (and save a hairwash day!) also when the options for rice/noodles come up, get the house ramen. even my friend who hates getting noodles/rice for hotpot and kbbq days, LOVED these. they have that hand pulled texture to them, chewy but perfect. sauce bar: this is where we messed up. they had chopped up red chilis and even reading the label I thought, eh I think we can handle it. they were not thai chilis, but habanero chilis. they had 3-4 red chili pepper signs next to them, maybe I should've thought it through more. anyway we go back to the table and I mix mine into my sauce, and of course the moment I do, that's when I decide to look at my friend's sauce to see if he did the same... he took his out and put them all on a plate. so I was profusely sweating with the sauce and the tomyum broth. I must have lost like 2 pounds from sweating alone. however they have the basics for sauce: garlic, green onion, cilantro, sesame, shoyu, chili oil etc. but be warned about the peppers. I get the hype behind this spot now, but will definitely be back (just not on an ayce appetite, and avoiding those peppers at all cost)

Beautiful interior, quick service My family of 4 came around 6P on a Tuesday evening We were sat right away, no reservation Waters came to our tables right away You order by a QR code on the table The menu is by sets, we got both the wagyu and original set It was more than enough food, ended up taking extras home Their sauce bar were full of fresh ingredients and yummy sauces Tomyum soup base is flavorful, meat quality super fresh 10/10 Highly recommend!

Mumu Hot Pot is a great spot for a delicious and hassle-free hot pot experience. The ambiance is modern, welcoming, and perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. One of the best features is the convenient QR code ordering and payment system, which makes the entire dining experience smooth and efficient. We also loved the sauce bar--there are so many options to customize your perfect dipping sauce. The $75 combo meal for two offers an excellent amount of food for the price, and the quality of the ingredients is impressive. The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. You really can't go wrong with any of the soup bases--they're all flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, a great value with tasty food, a comfortable atmosphere, and a convenient dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

First time trying this location with friends that opened not long ago so place is very clean, spacious, brightly lit. Staff was very attentive, occasionally asking if we needed more soup or water. Sauce bar with a lot of options. Comes with a plate of several types of veggies, different types of tofu, and enoki mushrooms. You scan the qr code for the menu and for the Classic, you get to choose 2 soup bases, 3 meats, 3 sides, and 2 noodle/rice. I got the mushroom soup which I loved. We got lamb and pork and short ribs but definitely loved the short ribs the best, which was very tender and juicy and paired my mushroom soup very well. I usually do not particularly want to eat hot pot or shabu shabu, but I loved the short ribs so much I told husband we should eat there.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the establishment, how large the space is, how clean it is, the tea bar, and their team working together so seamlessly. I got the $75 classic which came with 3 meats, 2 sides, 2 broth, 2 noodles & hella veggies. They also have an extensive sauce bar available buffet style to keep returning to. I ordered the miso broth and the sweet soy sauce one and honestly I really loved the sweet one more than I expected. It was my first time doing hot pot and I was a total noob at first. But after about 45 minutes I had figured out a good flow and was having a blast. Everything was so delicious. The servers walk around refilling your broth which is so cool! The broth flavor builds from all the various things you add to it. You can also switch broths because the pots have handles that don't get hot and make it easy to move. This was such a fun dining experience. I can't wait to go back.

Finally a great shabu shabu restaurant in the area! Prices are a bit on the higher side but the meat quality is great and portion sizes are generous. I got the wagyu toro for one with quail egg and pumpkin as the sides and loved it! We were seated for a party of 5 after a 5 minute wait on a Wednesday evening at 7. Ordering is via QR code at the table. Food took a bit to come. There's a sauce bar with lots of options. The restaurant is spacious, beautiful, and clean. Parking is 2.50/hr in the nearest lot. MAKE SURE TO PAY FOR PARKING IN ADVANCE!!!Fyi-Free 2 hr parking Mon-Thurs from 12-2 pm.

Nice and clean hot pot place! I can see why they're so popular and busy. I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night and the wait was over an hour. The waitlist system could be a bit better - I think we might have gotten passed over for another group that was a bit faster than us to get to the host, so our wait time ended up being longer than we expected. Once seated, it was a pretty efficient and smooth process. I like how open and airy the space is- kind of felt like a modern hotel, but for hot pot lol. My partner and I ordered the 2 person set (the classic) so we could try different broths. We got the sukiyaki and the buttery spicy bases. We both agreed the buttery spicy was better - it was a lot more flavorful but also very spicy, so if you're sensitive to that, be warned. The meats were very good quality! When ordering, I was worried it would be too little food. But it was actually too much food for 2 lol. We took some of the vegetables home but ate all the meat. Overall, would recommend Mumu. It's a little pricier as far as hot pot goes but I think the quality is worth the price. I recommend going during off hours though because it gets busy.

We came in on a Saturday around 2:00 and were able to sit right away. I am glad we beat the lunch rush. It is worth it if you don't eat that much, but we did have to order extra sides as they were not enough for some of us. Four of us ordered the spicy soup and it was SPICCCAAAY, so beware. We can eat spicy but this was another level of spicy. I think if I would have known, I would have ordered a more mild soup. The sauce bar was a nice touch as we loaded up on sauces. I like that the place is super spacious and the it is very bright in there. I do prefer a dimmer setting, but it was fine. The service was also good. I'd like to try another soup next time.

Always have a great experience at mumu hot pot. Fresh broth (chicken based and vegan also available), meat (halal options too!) and veggies. Lots of yummy sauces to choose from. You scan the QR code, order and pay for your meal and it magically appears. Staff is always available for guidance and questions. Highly recommend.

Wow! Came here for dinner with a few friends for our regular dinner catch up and decided to check out Mumu - This place is fuuuuueeeeggggo. One thing to note is that there's a lot of families that come here and the wait is around 30 to an hour. Definitely not a first date kinda place. More of a place if you're already a few dates in. The service was pretty quick, the servers don't bother you and drop off your order as it's ready, so yay - more time to chat up with my friends On the menu Japanese A5 set all the way! It serves 2 with 2 soup bases, 3 sides, 3 A5 Wagyu, 2 rice/noodles and a large veggie platter. Since there was 4 of us we ordered 2 orders of the Japanese A5 set with miso, 2 Sichuan spicy and tom yum. That Wagyu literally melts in your mouth. Yummy for my tummy. Don't forget the fixens at the condiment bar! Would I come here again? Absolutely!

"Excellent place! The soups were delicious, full of flavor, and made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was very friendly and fast. I will definitely come back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comforting, and flavorful meal."

We arrived shortly after 10am and our wait was just under 30 minutes. The restaurant is cozy (on the smaller side) but has an interesting layout. There's seating both indoors, outside, and upstairs. You may have to squeeze by a few tables to make your way to the restroom. Customer service was friendly and attentive. Pricing for food & drinks was a bit high. Our total for 2 entrees and 2 drinks was $60 before tip. We ordered two drinks (orange juice and an iced mocha) which were provided promptly. The orange juice was a little too sour and my mom had to add some sugar to improve the taste. The iced mocha was good, not too sweet. One thing to note the wait for our food took much longer than expected, and it may have been due to how busy it was. My mom opted to order the salmon yuzu benedict and I got an egg plate (scrambled eggs) with a side green salad. My mom mentioned the potatoes lacking salt but she enjoyed the salmon benedict. I thought the scrambled eggs were good, but slightly bland & needed salt and pepper. The side green salad was alright, but the vinaigrette had a bitter aftertaste. Overall, the meal was pretty good and timing wasn't the best. I'd likely return for brunch on a non-peak day. Definitely recommend joining the yelp waitlist prior to arriving if you can!

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

I missed photos of the main entrees enjoying our time and honestly not sure what we ordered as we paid with a kiosk and didn't get a printed receipt even thought I typed in my email.. so that's frustrating with technology. If you want a receipt have it printed before you leave. My friend had a spicy eggplant dish and I had a tofu dish with rice and no fish sauce. Wish I could be more descriptive but can't say without an itemized receipt.. doesn't matter though, was all amazing flavors for both my friend (who travels and has worldly palette, and my self with a broad pallet only within the US) Flavors were amazing and service was on par. I did have an issue at first with the first server saying Pad Thai could be done with tofu and no fish sauce so I was excited, but then the next server said it was already mixed and not able to accommodate, but did find me an alternative I found flavorful with veggies, though missed having the peanuts in my dish. I had Pad See You instead without meat or fish sauce. Service overall was wonderful, attentive and didn't have to wait for anything. They did close and allowed us to stay on the patio visiting long after. Would be happy to return again.. I didn't ask about validating my parking and then they closed, so that was a bummer but my bad.. do check when you arrive and see if they can validate to help with a hefty parking cost $20 for us but hung out longer than most..

I have been super excited to try hawking bird, and it did not disappoint. We got the satay chicken salad, curry fried chicken rice bowl, pickles, and the calamansi soda. Satay chicken salad -- very fresh and flavorful. the grilled chicken was very well marinated, and had lots of flavor. It came with a vinaigrette and a yummy peanut dipping sauce on the side. We thought it could use a little more greens, as the portion felt somewhat small. Curry fried chicken bowl -- this was our favorite thing that we got! The curry was flavorful and there was the perfect amount of it over the chicken and rice. There was a healthy portion of fried chicken and rice, which we appreciated. The chicken itself was super crispy and yummy. All of the components went very well together, and we really loved this one! Pickles -- this was just okay to me. the pickled vegetables consisted of assorted veggies including green beans, peppers, and cabbage. The veggies had a slight sweetness to them, but also were spicy! Not my favorite, but still pretty good. Calamansi soda -- honorable mention because I love calamansi and was so excited to see that they had this as an option! If you are a calamansi lover, you definitely enjoy this. it was crisp, refreshing, and had an authentic calamansi flavor. I'd definitely get it again! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal! We thought that the portions were the perfect size for sharing, which we loved. Next time, I'd definitely get the curry rice bowl again because it was so good! The decor was super cute, and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you are craving a chicken dish, we recommend you check this place out!

Such a beautiful interior space vibrant in celebration for AAPI Heritage month, and a super fun cocktail menu that was the perfect post-meal moment (both photo-worthy and tastebuds approved). We also noticed they have a cool food menu too filled with yummy and innovative dishes like Cheesy Char Siu Tots, Szechuan Salt & Pepper Wings, Korean Fried Mapo Tofu, BBQ Char Siu Ribs, and more. They also have nice swag ~ we took home a hat that resembled a Kirkland hat that spelled out "Oakland Viridian" (IYKYK). Drink-wise we ordered the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned and the Café Sua Daddy, which essentially is an espresso martini with a fun twist with black sesame and an egg cream foam. Both drinks were outstanding and presentation was beyond..I wished we could have stayed for round two, but duty calls! Ride-share and or BART suggested in this area, it's just a bit congested downtown to park. Service was fun, prices fair for the whole experience. Loved it!

Service was really prompt and friendly. The food was great we ordered all the classics such as the tater tots and the cucumbers, and we also got the salt and pepper wings, and the special mapo tofu. Portions are great and it's definitely a lot of food to share. There are also extensive cocktails on the menu running at $16-$20 each, which is expected for the creativity and expert craftsmanship of each cocktail. They have a large number of cocktails that are special and seasonal, and then their classics on the bottom. I don't think you can go wrong with anything that you try and I love that they have Asian fusion options for the cocktails and savory and sweet. I got one of the seasonal cocktails that was passionfruit forward and it had a nice tart crisp taste that I really enjoyed.
