Second visit here with a group of 8, and everything was perfect. The set of 2 made us extremely full, with generous plates of meat (Toro and wagyu chuck). The wait staff frequently checked on us to refill broth or water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the ambience was gorgeous, being far more open and spacious that the other bay area locations we've been to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Easily a place to revisit

4.5 stars $33 1 person hotpot: really really fantastic. Went with shio broth, flank steak, white fish, fish "tofu" as the options. $6.50 Green grape 4 seasons tea: delicious, and 1/4 sweet was more than sweet enough. And then made a sesame oil+garlic+green onion dipping sauce. Spending $40+tt on a single meal is extravagant for me but I don't regret it. Definitely a treat meal.

I have been wanting to come her to this location for the longest time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a big place. I thought the front room was the entire restaurant but they have a huge back area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is super clean and well organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Many people walk around to make sure that everyone's water cup is full. We ordered for two people and had so much extra food. I was so grateful to Enning (one of the amazing servers) she totally was the one responsible for my delicious food decisions. She was very patient and helpful. If you ever have any advice I would definitely ask her. The tilapia was so soft. We all loved it. Also the quail eggs were wonderful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Come drop by and enjoy for family or friends cooking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you again Enning!

We came on a Thursday night around 7PM and was surprised to see that it was pretty busy. I had put my name on a waitlist, but didn't had to wait long, 10 minute tops. We ordered the $75 combo for two. It came with 3 meats along with our other selections and a platter of veggies. I really liked the meat here! You can tell it's higher quality than that of AYCE places, and the meat melted in my mouth. I also really liked my broth (Szechuan spicy) and thought it wasn't too overpowering. You can pay via your phone and don't have to wait for the check. The waiters came by frequently to fill up on our broth and water which was really nice.

Mumu Hot Pot at Bay Street Emeryville (shopping district) was great. Just a really solid hot pot experience in general and one of the better hot pot restaurants I've been to in recent memory. This place is popular. We had a party of eight and showed up on a Saturday just before 5:30 PM. We were seated in less than 10 minutes, but had to split up into two adjacent booths. If we wanted to sit together, we would've had to wait longer. The dining room was packed with groups of all sizes, including a large birthday party. Each table has a QR code for menu, ordering, and payment. So, our family of eight ordered and paid as two separate tables. Each person gets their own mini hot pot. Here's what our table of four ordered: Drinks / Mumu's Tea: * Green Grape Four Season Tea ($6.50) - medium sweet, "hand-crafted with fresh fruits" Combos: The Classic (for 2, $75.00) * Tom Yum broth * Sukiyaki broth * Australian M6-M7 Wagyu Beef Chuck Eye Roll * Australian M6-M8 Wagyu Beef Toro * Prime Black Angus Beef Flat Iron * Cuttlefish * Beef Tendon * Fish Tofu * Vermicelli * Udon Noodle * Veggie Platter (large) The Classic (for 2, $75.00) * Yuzu Shio broth * Sukiyaki broth * Australian M6-M7 Wagyu Beef Chuck Eye Roll * Prime Black Angus Beef Flat Iron * Australian M6-M8 Wagyu Beef Toro * Fresh Beancurd Stick * Fried Beancurd Rolls * Beef Tripe * Udon Noodle * House Ramen * Veggie Platter (large) If I recall correctly, the Veggie Platters included enoki mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, pumpkin, napa cabbage, spinach, baby bok choy, lettuce, and broccoli. They did not include winter melon, bamboo shoots, or taro, which you can order separately. After tax and automatic gratuity (18%), this dinner for four cost $201.10. All of the ingredients were fresh and the meat, in particular, was high quality and delicious. Top-notch hot pot. The only thing that our table wasn't a fan of was the Tom Yum broth. I don't recommend it. The other broths - Sukiyaki and Yuzu Shio - were very good. Also, the Green Grape Four Season Tea was just okay. My sister's family likes this restaurant which is why we came here. They like it not only because the food is good, but because the restaurant is spacious and clean, which I generally agree with. The restroom that I used wasn't very clean, though. Service was fine. The guy clearing tables was nice. There was a sign on the wall that said if you post a Yelp review about this place before you leave, you get a free ice cream. My niece pointed it out to me and wanted me to do it so I could get her an ice cream, but I wanted to leave one of my usual detailed reviews afterwards. We parked in the pay garage at the other end of Bay Street. Mumu does not validate. There are seven Mumu Hot Pot locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. This location was the fifth to open and opened on May 3, 2024. The original location opened in Pleasanton in 2018.

Beautiful interior, quick service My family of 4 came around 6P on a Tuesday evening We were sat right away, no reservation Waters came to our tables right away You order by a QR code on the table The menu is by sets, we got both the wagyu and original set It was more than enough food, ended up taking extras home Their sauce bar were full of fresh ingredients and yummy sauces Tomyum soup base is flavorful, meat quality super fresh 10/10 Highly recommend!

Mumu Hot Pot is a great spot for a delicious and hassle-free hot pot experience. The ambiance is modern, welcoming, and perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. One of the best features is the convenient QR code ordering and payment system, which makes the entire dining experience smooth and efficient. We also loved the sauce bar--there are so many options to customize your perfect dipping sauce. The $75 combo meal for two offers an excellent amount of food for the price, and the quality of the ingredients is impressive. The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. You really can't go wrong with any of the soup bases--they're all flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, a great value with tasty food, a comfortable atmosphere, and a convenient dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

Great food! Solid hot pot place, everyone gets their own individual broth. The 2-person portion size was very generous, and we were not able to finish. Would recommend the spicy broth, warning though it is very sour. However, making your own dipping sauce can help to cut through the sour. Excited to try more broths in the future. I will note that the two broths for the 2-person set is very nice.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the establishment, how large the space is, how clean it is, the tea bar, and their team working together so seamlessly. I got the $75 classic which came with 3 meats, 2 sides, 2 broth, 2 noodles & hella veggies. They also have an extensive sauce bar available buffet style to keep returning to. I ordered the miso broth and the sweet soy sauce one and honestly I really loved the sweet one more than I expected. It was my first time doing hot pot and I was a total noob at first. But after about 45 minutes I had figured out a good flow and was having a blast. Everything was so delicious. The servers walk around refilling your broth which is so cool! The broth flavor builds from all the various things you add to it. You can also switch broths because the pots have handles that don't get hot and make it easy to move. This was such a fun dining experience. I can't wait to go back.

Finally a great shabu shabu restaurant in the area! Prices are a bit on the higher side but the meat quality is great and portion sizes are generous. I got the wagyu toro for one with quail egg and pumpkin as the sides and loved it! We were seated for a party of 5 after a 5 minute wait on a Wednesday evening at 7. Ordering is via QR code at the table. Food took a bit to come. There's a sauce bar with lots of options. The restaurant is spacious, beautiful, and clean. Parking is 2.50/hr in the nearest lot. MAKE SURE TO PAY FOR PARKING IN ADVANCE!!!Fyi-Free 2 hr parking Mon-Thurs from 12-2 pm.

Ask the Community - Mumu Hot Pot

Cost per person? Suitable for children? Best time to visit?

Generally it is $40 per person, but depends on option selected. Yes, it's suitable for children but would be better for older children, my 2-3 year old wouldn't have the patience. It's very busy on weekend evenings - be prepared to wait about 30…

    What vegan options you have?

Vegetable broth are available and plenty of vegetable options. Definitely do not need meat with all of the wonderful fresh veggie and tofu offerings.

    Do they take reservations?

Yes. We made a reservation for a party of six for dinner time.

    What are the hours?

Opens at 11:30am daily, and closes at 9:30pm except Fridays and Saturdays where they closed later at 10pm.

    Can I take what I don't eat to-go in a 'doggy bag'?

    Yes

Is it first come first serve only; no reservations taken, correct?

You can call directly and make a reservation. You can also add your name to the Yelp reservation list if you're already on your way...

    What is the parking situation?

There is metered street parking, and a block away is garage parking.

All u can eat buffet or price per item?

Not AYCE they have meat/veggie combo for 2 priced at 75

Do they have seats for one person?

Yup! I saw a woman eating alone in a normal booth.

    Is the meat halal?

yes- they have two halal meat options directly listed on their menu. Highlighted in green arabic.

    Are you open yet?

    Yep!

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

The restaurant is really big and we sat at a table for 14 pretty comfortably. We were also here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant vibe where you leave a little bit emotionally abused after paying for overly priced menu items. We did the à la cart and easily spent up to $1500. Better off with the family plan meal but nothing was of interest to us except one or two dishes. It took forever to come out and I mean FOREVER to a point where we almost cancelled a few dishes and called it a night, but they kept saying it's being made. With as many people and as massive as the restaurant was, and the price tags, I was expecting a more efficient service. A couple of times we saw our dish being brought to the wrong table and the people going "oh we didn't order this." With all of that out of the way, I am giving them an average score of 3 starts because the food did bring them back up. It was actually really good. My favorite of all things we ordered was their sea bass with string beans. The sea bass was fried crispy, garnished salty and still soft inside. It paired really well with the string beans. We ordered a bunch of other things that I couldn't tell you what the name was in English and they were above average taste wise. Their complimentary dessert however, was mass produced and tasted like they added too much water to it. This was the only one I was disappointed in. I still say this place is extremely overpriced but for a family meal experience and if you ever want to impress a date, why not.

This is the restaurant of choice for my wife's family gatherings, and she has a pretty big family,…read moreso we're here quite a bit. To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore.

I have decided that the temescal neighborhood is one of my favorite places to eat in Oakland. There…read moreare just so many delicious restaurants here! I have been super excited to try hawking bird, and it did not disappoint. We got the satay chicken salad, curry fried chicken rice bowl, pickles, and the calamansi soda. Satay chicken salad -- very fresh and flavorful. the grilled chicken was very well marinated, and had lots of flavor. It came with a vinaigrette and a yummy peanut dipping sauce on the side. We thought it could use a little more greens, as the portion felt somewhat small. Curry fried chicken bowl -- this was our favorite thing that we got! The curry was flavorful and there was the perfect amount of it over the chicken and rice. There was a healthy portion of fried chicken and rice, which we appreciated. The chicken itself was super crispy and yummy. All of the components went very well together, and we really loved this one! Pickles -- this was just okay to me. the pickled vegetables consisted of assorted veggies including green beans, peppers, and cabbage. The veggies had a slight sweetness to them, but also were spicy! Not my favorite, but still pretty good. Calamansi soda -- honorable mention because I love calamansi and was so excited to see that they had this as an option! If you are a calamansi lover, you definitely enjoy this. it was crisp, refreshing, and had an authentic calamansi flavor. I'd definitely get it again! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal! We thought that the portions were the perfect size for sharing, which we loved. Next time, I'd definitely get the curry rice bowl again because it was so good! The decor was super cute, and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you are craving a chicken dish, we recommend you check this place out!

Order at the counter and they bring food to you. - kmg: The sauce did the khao mun gai did not taste as flavorful (less funky, more watered down). - green beans: similar to above, more watered down flavors. Was expecting more funk and spice and sweetness like what they used to serve. - tater tots: crunchy with a hint of tom yum (I think) seasoning - Lao sausage: a tad dry, again would want more flavorful seasoning Slow service (took 20 mins for us to get our soup broth that came with our rice dish, and prob 30 mins for us to get a side of pickles). Ambiance as loud and echoey and it sounded like a large fan or blender was going for a long time (which was still decently loud despite us sitting furthest end from the kitchen).

The bites are generally really good too, though I wasn't a huge fan of the chili cucumbers. Try the Tomato Beef cocktail-- it's really yummy! The Li Hing Ramos is a good go-to if you like egg white drinks, and the seasonal milk punch has always been good. The ambiance is very cool, not bright inside, but bright colors, very hip. Great date night spot.

Such a beautiful interior space vibrant in celebration for AAPI Heritage month, and a super fun cocktail menu that was the perfect post-meal moment (both photo-worthy and tastebuds approved). We also noticed they have a cool food menu too filled with yummy and innovative dishes like Cheesy Char Siu Tots, Szechuan Salt & Pepper Wings, Korean Fried Mapo Tofu, BBQ Char Siu Ribs, and more. They also have nice swag ~ we took home a hat that resembled a Kirkland hat that spelled out "Oakland Viridian" (IYKYK). Drink-wise we ordered the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned and the Café Sua Daddy, which essentially is an espresso martini with a fun twist with black sesame and an egg cream foam. Both drinks were outstanding and presentation was beyond..I wished we could have stayed for round two, but duty calls! Ride-share and or BART suggested in this area, it's just a bit congested downtown to park. Service was fun, prices fair for the whole experience. Loved it!
