This is top-quality steak house dining without the price many can't enjoy. Make reservations because this place is always packed from open to almost closed. Malone's is located in the Hamburg shopping district, right off the interstate, bringing in a lot of travelers passing through. So take the time and call ahead or download the Open Table App and make reservations. The restaurant has candid decor, with brownstone furniture and soothing lighting. There is a bar side, Harry's, and the dining side. I was looking for some specials when I walked in but didn't see any so make sure you ask your server. Speaking of servers, we had the best. Dean gave us his undivided attention and offered us all information about the established, what was good, and specials and kept "classy." I noticed this was the standard with all the servers at Malone's, so customer service is 5 stars. We had no problem tipping $100 after the meal. Speaking of tipping, tip with cash, not on the bill with the card. Tipping to your card is taxed, and what you think is going to the server will go ole Uncle Sam, so use cash when you can; our server explained that to us, which was greatly appreciated. Now, the food. I'll say this: AMAZING! Everything was cooked to perfection. Steaks are cooked to a proper degree of doneness that is expected. Various sides are available and they highlight local specials that give Malones its own Kentucky uniqueness. An expanded dessert selection for those with a sweet tooth highlights specialties made right in Kentucky. Parking is tight, so if you can come in a group. Wonderful dining experience. We had the crab dip for an appetizer which tasted authentic to Maryland. I could taste the old bay seasoning which I love! The bread that's served with it was a little too hard but the table bread was far more suited for the dish. The garlic bitter is delicious too. I added that on top of my NY strip for a little razzle dazzle and it blew me away. I asked the waitress Sasha, if the butter was sold separately lol. Birthday dinner done right. We had a reservation for 6:45 and we got there right on time. We were promptly escorted to our table and placed our drink orders. Shortly after we received drinks and fresh, hot bread. Now it's time to order. So many great selections it was hard to choose. I went with the Mahi Mahi ( which the waiter said was an excellent choice). At first bite, I completely agreed. It was flaky and delicious served on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes. The unlimited Lexingtonian salad was very good and complimented the entree. I finished with a complimentary slice of cake to go. You receive a free dessert up to $10 value on your birthday. I couldn't resist getting one of my favorites, carrot cake. I said I was going to save it for the next day but I devoured it before I went to bed. Service was great ! Think our server's name was Chesney. All the food was very good. Steaks seemed to be a bit on the rare side of what was ordered, but all tasted great! There were 4 of us and we all ordered some combination with filets. Had shrimp cocktail for appetizer, so big with cocktail sauce that had horseradish on top. Old Fashioned drinks were potent. Desserts included the donut bread pudding that was huge. Make sure to get the ice cream on the side (suggested by our server) so it doesn't melt. And I wanted iced water with lemon. It's amazing that they had crunchy ice bc that's my favorite kind of ice. Followed by that: we looked at the menu and ordered - house chili - Cajun beef penne pasta - calamari - side of mushrooms. Chili : 5/10, was too salty. Even with everything that we ate it with, it didn't balance out the way I liked it. Penn took it off our receipt. Thanks for being so kind, I didn't expect it. Cajun beef pasta : 8/10. I loved the amount of pasta that was on the plate. The flavors were beautiful and I tasted it every bite. Flavors blended so beautiful and complimented one another. I wish I had more, but it was really yummy. Calamari: 8/10 the texture for this was amazing. I love calamari in general and this did it for me with the amount of hungry we were, haha. There was enough to be shared and I did enjoy these a lot too. Mushrooms: 7/10, we ate most of it, not all since it was heavily seasoned. Everything else was seasoned and it was a lot of seasons to go through, but pretty good for just a side of mushrooms. Their bathrooms had cute interior, was clean and had cute messages to keep you occupied in the moment. Haha! Penn, thank you for offering me a cup of ice prior to us leaving. You took the time to talk to us even tho we were 3 youngsters and we were In a rush to eat just to drive back and get on the road. Malone's was always a favorite of ours. Their Lexintonian salad was always delicious and their steaks were always very tender prime cuts of beef. I understand how inflation has impacted the restaurant industry. Generally a restaurant will lower quality and keep prices the same or raise prices to keep quality the same. Malone's has decided to lower quality while at the same time raise prices. Tonight I had the 16oz ribeye, a steak that in the past would be butter knife and fork tender. Sadly I had to use a sawing motion with the provided steak knife to cut it. It was tough throughout. The salad was spot on as usual and the salt crusted baked potato was wonderful. As usual the service was perfectly adequate. But let's face it, salad, potato, and service are not in the name on the front of the building. Guess I'll need to look elsewhere for a good steak. read more

Pretty amazing place in town for Breeders cup weekend and we wanted a local place, and this was highly recommended by multiple people. Arrive to massive structure with it appears all different types of business all within one building. It apparently is a Sports bar with multiple dining rooms as well as their higher end food restaurant steakhouse Malones. Spacious modern with plenty of tables, booths, TV's bar area and the place is absolutely mobbed on this Saturday night. Seated and Andrew our server took us through the variables explained the menu ETC and off we went. Just 2 of us tonight so we were pretty basic about food. A Steak & Potato Soup was good almost like a French onion with chunks of steak in it. The Bottomless Salads that came with the entrees were as good as they get with Ice cold lettuce fresh everything. Entrees were a 2 Steakhouse Kobe Burgers that you could not eat with two hands. It was absolutely delish, while the side of Fries unfortunately were very salty and tepid too cold to say the least. I was offered more fries when we found a server but by that time I was almost done. Other issue was I asked for ketchup 3 times, and nobody brought it so we have to give them a small downgrade. We did not have time for dessert but everything going by looked good. Really top shelf place Excellent burgers, Andrew was good but overwhelmed with the volume of patrons and unfortunately getting Ketchup or letting them know the fries were cold was not an easy task. Food is of the highest quality. Great steaks, appetizers, burgers, fries, side dishes, everything is great! The mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are my favorites to get on the side. All the steaks are good. Servers are always nice and talkative. The only negative? Wait time. Always make sure to place a reservation before visiting, as the waits are 45 minutes on a Wednesday at 4. Female bartender gave me some bullshit story over there it's a 1.5oz pour here it's a 2oz pour - pours looked the same to me. While I do like Malones, and eat at the Lexington or Louisville location no less than 4-6x a month, I will never return to the Lexington Hamburg location ever again. You can bullshit me once, but it won't happen twice. Second thought, I'm pissed, I'm not visiting either location ever again, I'll go to Outback instead. Appetizer, dinner and drinks. I forgot to request my Lexingtonian Salad be made without bacon and he brought one with my request without hesitation. This is my go-to celebration place! The bar has an impressive bourbon collection and fabulous house cocktails, a delectable collection of entrées and appetizers, includong seasonal specials, and fabulous service. Every time I have been, I have not been disappointed in any facet. The worst I have experienced was a touch of a long wait time for my entree, but the restaurant was obviously packed, and our waiter made sure we had plenty of drinks and bread as we waited. This atmosphere is what makes it celebratory. It was warm without being boiling, inviting without being demanding, cozy without being cluttered, intimate without being claustrophobic, and relaxing without being sleepy. I also have mobility issues, as well as chronic pain, and they are exceptionally accomidating and understanding. The waitstaff have all been delightful and knowledgeable on every occasion, and take allergies seriously. I have lower intensity food allergies myself, but often eat out with someone who goes into anaphylactic shock due to an allergy. With that in mind, Malones is one of the only places I have dined with this person multiple times where there has been no accidental exposure to the allergen. I would rate this place as pricey-expensive range for dining, but being completely worth it. It is a place to get dressed up to go to, but that dressing up can be nice denim. The Croquettes were awesome- rare menu item in the US, I feel like that's more European fare but they were very good. Salad was excellent- though not healthy- and the burger was good too. My family recently celebrated my Grandson's 18th Birthday at Malones. We each get to choose where we will eat for our family birthday parties. I can't even count the times we've eaten at Malones. In fact, we've been going to Harry's every Friday night after Lexington Catholic football games.
