Pretty good food. I want to go back and try a few dishes on the Italian side, as I had the Greek stuff on my first visit which was OK but not amazing. However, the Italian food others in my party got looked better. The service was great. Wow, this place is horrible! We ordered a cheese sub - and apparently they couldn't understand how a sub could have no meat (yes, there are vegetarians!). Literally, we needed to explain it outright. The one sub, a turkey and cheese sub, arrived as a sandwich in 2 slices of bread! And, you're charged to have cheese on your sub! Cheese doesn't come with your sub. What restaurant does that?!? Here's the best part: the cheese sub had literally 1 piece of cheese on it!! You could tell that this one piece of cheese was obviously sitting out all day as it was discolored and oily. On a roll. With a few pieces of shredded lettuce. With tomatoes. We said no tomatoes. How hard is it to make a sub?! This place is terrible. We will never order from here again! read more

I enjoy Mama Lucci's gyros, crab soup and Middle Eastern dishes. Today we got Italian lunch specials. The value for the lunch dishes is great. We got Veal Parm, came with bread and a soda. I found it unusual to just serve the Veal with no pasta. The Veal is chopped frozen meat without any flavor and the bread seems to have no garlic. We also got the Meat Lasagna which also did not have much flavor coming from the meat. I haven't ordered Italian dishes from them in over 10 years so I thought I would give it another try. Ever since Gnossos (spelling?) closed down in Leesburg, this seems like the only place where you can get some authentic Greek fare in that area. I haven't tried out much of the menu, except for the gyro, but I can tell you that the gyro is phenomenal. The best thing about this place is the authenticity of their Greek tzatziki. My wife and I have been here a number of times now and each time have been quite impressed. Despite the eclectic decor (artifacts from the Middle east which are rather cool combined with faux marble columns which are humorous), this place has character and more importantly, great food. I can't say the service was very memorable in times past but this time our waitress, Lauren G., was extremely attentive. Perhaps this was because it was a Wednesday night and there were only a few tables filled, but she seemed like she would have been friendly and attentive regardless - so kudos to her! We ordered the grape leaves as an appetizer. My wife ordered the beef and lamb gyro platter and I got the chicken gyro platter. They come with salads and when she confirmed that we both wanted the Greek salad I mentioned to my wife that there were olives in it (to which she said somewhat quietly, that's fine I'll just give them to you). When I asked for no onions in my gyro the waitress thought about the fact that there was also onions in the salad and asked if I wanted that without as well. Then when they came out, she had already put my onions in my wife's and her olives in mine without being asked! To me, that's attentive service. Our food was delicious as always. The stuffed grape leaves are exceptional, and as my wife mentioned, they give you 6 of them instead of the 4 alot of "fancier" places might give you. I love the homemade dressing in the salad...it's not too strong or vinegar-tasting. The gyros are large and the sauce they cook the meat in, as well as the cucumber sauce, is excellent. After getting my car serviced nearby, I stopped in for lunch based on other Yelper's reviews. There was a very eclectic mix of people lunching -- mechanics, IT types, older folks -- which made it quite cozy and interesting from a people-watching standpoint. (I like to watch. Oh yes.) Despite the extensive lunch options, I ordered the chicken parmigiana entree because I have no self control, and enjoyed it immensely. The house Italian dressing was delicious, and it was clear that all the ingredients had been carefully selected. My one minor quibble is that the marinara sauce was a little too peppery for my taste, but the richness of the rest of the dish more than made up for that. read more

I been longing for a good gyro for long time and this place did more then just fulfilled the carving with generous potion and Egyptian plate was just the right dish to wet your appetite. from now on this will be my first choice when ever I get that carving again. minor improvement could be on dessert, they serve carrot cake, cheese cake, chocolate layer cake, and others price between $4.30~$6.00. These kebabs were listed on their website as a speciality, yet were disgusting, and came with no bread-- lame. Moby dicks has way better kebabs. The service was great, the food delicious- even though my gyro was very generous (extra meat and sauce- and they mean it), I was eying the neighbor's cheese pizza. My husband is not an adventurous diner but loved his food. The gyro meat was generously seasoned and cooked tender, the cucumber sauce was divine (I could eat it by itself and did). Never judge a book by its cover. That saying is sooooo true, especially when it comes to this place. From the outside, the restaurant looks kind of "ordinary," nothing special. After reading some of the reviews, me and my girlfriend decided to give Mama Lucci's a shot. This is hands down, the best restaurant I've been to in Leesburg and is probably the best Middle Eastern restaurant I've been to thus far. For starters, the hummus is delicious. I have eaten at certain more "upscale" places such as Labonese Taverna in Tysons II and Alladin's Eatery in Ballston; both of those places with the ambiance and setting they give, they both seem to be great places for Middle Eastern food. WRONG. The hummus from both restaurants contained no flavor and the bread along with it was cold and hard. Here at Mama Lucci's, the Pita was soft and hot, and the hummus was seasoned and fresh as it should be. We also had the grape leaves, which were probably the best from a restaurant I've had. They were actually hot! The main course was also delicious. I ordered the chicken kabob, which came with red sauce, rice, and a Greek salad. All which was very good. For anyone that lives in the Loudoun County area, you have to check out Mama Lucci's. As a bonus, try the cannoli. Hands down the best. read more

In my short time in Leesburg, Virgina I was honored by checking out the the small but quite charming Mama Lucci. Atomsphere: This place is pretty small. That is to say you're not going to a chain resturant but that's fine. I went when there were a only a handful of people there but I could imagine this place could be a difficult to get around if it's packed. The service was great when I was there. No problems at all. Food/Drink: The menu is very diverse. They have everything from Gyros to hummus to even pizza and burgers. The roast beef was good, a bit dry but I can handle that (no au jus sadly). And drinks were your standard fair at most restaurant but it's good. Cost: This place is pretty cheap! I can see why it's a local favorite! Overall: I loved this place! If I ever visit Leesburg again I will go back here. The diversity of the menu and quality of the food demand repeat visits if you visit. read more

This place is a hidden gem -- it looks like a total dump next to a gun store, but the food was outstanding, particularly the Middle Eastern items. Decor is a weird mix of Italian and Middle Eastern items, but somehow it feels like it works. Had the kibbe, dolma and hummus appetizer plate, and a chicken kebab. Appetizers were tasty (just the right balance of salt, vinegar and lemon), and the hummus came with both lemon and fresh Arab bread (yum). Chicken was well-seasoned and came with rice and more hummus (yum). Service was good, if a bit distracted. HORRIBLE AND DIRTY! Food is not fresh and the place is horribly dingy. I felt dirty eating there... So we left after i ate only 1/4 of my food. McDonalds would have been a better choice and I hate going to fast food joints on a date. There are fruit flys and flys and I wouldn't be surprised if there are health code violations just take a look at the floor when you walk in. I will NEVER be back! We LOVE the food here. It is always piping hot and delicious. My husband's favorite is the fried mushroom appetizer, and mine is the Baked Penne Rigate with meat sauce. "Wow!" is the best way to describe this place. I had a sandwhich here and ordered the gluten-free bread. When it arrived, I all but spat it out and ran to get the waitress. It was so good I couldn't believe it was gluten free! They apparently make their own bread or source it locally, so you can't just buy this bread at the store. If you're avoiding gluten, go here! These sandwhiches are cheap, delicious, and 100% gluten negative. Five stars! The interior needs some sprucing, though. Feels a little forced. read more

I certainly can't write a review to comment on their food because I never made it that far. I received a menu in the mail and decided to give them a try on a delivery order. I called the restaurant and proceeded to place what should have been a very simple order since I was using a coupon and it was for a specific meal. The person taking the order didn't appear to have a clue. Then I was placed on hold so long I thought we got disconnected. I called back and was put on hold again. After the third time they were finally ready to take my payment when I realized the amount wasn't right based on the coupon special. They then informed me it was more because they add a surcharge to deliver to me. I'm not more than 3 miles from them! They never mentioned this at the beginning of this lengthy process when they took my address. Frustrated, I cancelled my order so I could take my business elsewhere. read more

Hummus... delicious. It's not on the menu, but they make a chicken gyro that's so good! Their falafel isn't bad, they make it the traditional way (I prefer mine with tatziki), and the falafel balls themselves can be a bit dry. The staff is always friendly, and service is pretty swift. read more

Had dinner here last night. The chicken parm, was fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I didn't love the sauce on the spaghetti, but my husband finished all of my pasta. :-) I'm Italian so, I'm picky about sauce. My husband had the gyro platter. The sandwich was flat on the plate, which I loved, because you could eat it with a knife and fork. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and tasted homemade. Fries were hot and crispy. Carrot cake was a pleasant ending to our meal! Inexpensive meal, with salads, entrees and a piece of cake and coffee to share for just under $40. Will definitely be back! read more

I go to Mama Lucci's every now and then. It's one of those places that doesn't come to mind that easily, but when it does, it's like, "oh, yeah!!! Mama Lucci's!!" I enjoy dining there or ordering delivery. The food is always good and the service is good too! I have tried many of the subs, the hummus, eggplant parm., and spaghetti. I recommend it all! The only thing I would change, and this has nothing to do with the food or service, is the decor. It's a little tacky and it looks as if the last time it was redecorated / remodled was in the early 90's. Other than that, it's a great place to eat! read more

Mama Lucci's did the catering for a wedding rehearsal. What a fabulous event thanks to Caroline and her crew. The food was delicious. Every aspect of the catering was flawless. She told me not to worry as she had everything taken care of. Besides going over the menu and making the deposit we only talked a couple times and she assured me she had it all under control. THEY DID! Linens, dishes, salad, cheese plates, setup, tear down, packing up leftovers, and serving. The crew was friendly, present when needed, and invisible when not required. Mamma Lucci's is the best pizza in Leesburg. I usually get a small meat pizza w/ extra pepperoni, extra cheese, well done. And it does not disappoint! The sauce and crust are amazing. I just attempted to finish the Stromboli, which was also very tasty. And the marinara that comes with it is loaded w/ garlic, yum! The fried mushrooms w/ horseradish sauce is pretty good , too. My husband loves the cream of crab soup, as well as the cream of potato. Their menu has a wide selection to choose from. They are always very kind on the phone and they deliver with a smile!
