In town visiting relatives and came in for a late lunch based on the good reviews. Should have turned around and left when I saw that most of the tables were dirty and the counter girl did not acknowledge us when we came in, too busy doing chores. Placed order for a Calzone and was told over 30 minutes so changed to baked ziti and told it would be 15 minutes. As of right now it is 20 minutes and still do not have my salad much less the ziti or portabello wrap. Salad has showed up with an apology, fresh and nice though simple, I actually prefer it simple but do expect croutons at an Italian place... Food has arrive +- 30 minutes. Had asked if cheese came on the wrap and told no; you guessed, my vegan wife had cheese on her wrap. She was not going to wait so she just picked it off. Baked ziti was very good but could have been spicier while the wrap with spinach, artichokes tomatoes and more was a big hit with lots of flavor. I am raising the review to three stars from one because of the food, excellent. Was in town for a couple days and my boyfriend found this place on yelp. We really lucked out, because the first night we had the Greek pizza which was really delicious. Dough: on point. Flatness: on point. Toppings and warmth: on point. The pizza was amazing, definitely one of the best pizza places I've been to, and as a huge fan of pizza, I've had my share. The second night my boyfriend decided to try their sandwiches, though I wanted their pizza. Their special at the time (some spicy chipotle chicken panini) was alright. Was in town for a couple of days so I decided to try Mama Mias out. I got buffalo chicken pizza. It was really good, thin crust, NY style pizza. Staff was friendly over the phone and delivery was competed in a reasonable amount of time. My only gripe for the 4 stars is that they used a combination of red sauce (tomato) in combination with their buffalo sauce which takes away the taste of the buffalo sauce. This pizza is really good and consistent!! Been coming here for years and wouldn't ever wanna go to another pizza place. I think this place is the reason you never see anyone in the geneseo pizza hut parking lot haha. I love the thin crust vs the thick pizza they have a lot of places. The service is also really fast and helpful. Also really nice that they're open so late!! I never tried delivery but the atmosphere is always welcoming and nice if you ever choose to eat inside. I've been around as far as pizza goes. Roberta's in Bushwick, John's of Bleeker, Spumoni Gardens.. the real in NYC. I was around Geneseo in the early 90's and this pizza always hit the spot. I went here with my friend who goes to SUNY Geneseo. She told me that it's the best pizza in town. I had a slice of cheese pizza and garlic knots, both were delicious. The slices reminded me of pizza I could only get in Manhattan, which is an obvious plus. The place itself is a bit of a dump, but the Italian food you can get at sit down is surprisingly not that bad (the sandwiches are also pretty good lunch fare too). The pizza isn't too bad but it is very thin, not like the pictures at all. Also, do not get the onions on the pizza. Not sure what these are but they were like giant slime wads, nothing resembling or tasting like an onion whatsoever. They also close very early, especially during the times when the college is not in session. The hours listed online are not accurate at all. Also, the garlic knots were very bland and hard as a rock. They're mainly known for their pizza, but I find it rather bland and I'm not a fan of the toppings being put on the pizza on top of the cheese. Their homemade soup and entrees are quite good however (especially the pasta alfredo) and the portions are generous. The caesar salad dressing tastes homemade and is delicious on their big green leafy salads. At times, their customer service could be better...I was annoyed on one occasion when 2 non-busy employees couldn't seem to break away from talking with a visiting friend to serve me ice cream, even after I told them I wanted to purchase some and was waiting in the other room. Though i did not think it was difficult to deliver the simplest foods, Mia's proved me wrong. I waited close to two hours the other day. Without hesitation, i encourage everyone to eat elsewhere. They do not care about the customer and they serve horrid food. They are fortunate they are the only (barely) edible pizza place in the town. You might as well burn your money. It's so good. Their pizza is just the half of it. French fries, garlic knots and sandwiches are all worth a try. So much better than Paul's. Mama Mia's is the unofficial pizzeria of choice for the local college student population. There are a couple of other pizza places in town, but "Mia's" (as it's known) is the most popular and the best. The pizza is delicious either by the slice--especially at the end of a night out--or as a whole pie. Their garlic knots are good, too. I can't really speak for their pastas or other menu items. This is probably one of the best pizza/sub places in town. The pizza is thin so you can easily eat a whole if you wanted. The subs have great quality. The meat is fresh and the bread is just perfectly toasted. They also have cannolies and Italian ice. I would recommend this place to any visitors or tourists. It is always busy. orderded a combo, they said it's 32 dollars. The delivery guy came and said it's 37 dollars(thought i misheard about the price ) so i gave him 40 dollars then returned back to my room and checked receipt and guess what, the price was actually 32 dollars. I think he should be a thieve not a delivery man. Always check your receipt before you pay for the food or just pay with credit card, if you don't want to pay more money for no reason. The pizza here is very delicious. I wasn't a fan of it at first but the more drunken nights spent eating the pizza, the more I grew to love it. And students all over Geneseo love it which is what you will find if you try to grab a slice after midnight, the place will usually be jam packed at this point. I haven't had much there except for the pizza. There is a real thin crust with a thing layer of sauce and cheese, but the slices are very large. The buffalo chicken pizza is also very tasty. And the garlic rolls they make are good as well. The only complaint I have about this place is the price of the pizza. The pizza is not cheap, especially if you are a poor college student like me. read more
