If it was not for Jeremy the server/cashier I wild taste this a 1. But he was truly an outstanding young man who tried his best to satisfy the customer. Unfortunately his support let him down. I ordered 2 piece roasted chicken and the server brought me fried after Jeremy confirmed they had what I wanted ready. My wife was also w me and was given fried vs roasted but she wanted dark meat. Jeremy asked if I was ok waiting 15 minutes for fresh roasted chicken which I agreed as my wife had to wait 5 for her meal to come correctly. To compensate he gave us a dessert and extra breast (I ordered white meat) when my meal came out. As promised 2 hot juicy breasts and a wing. I literally told my wife after the first bite the chicken was done perfectly. A if it was done cooking seconds after completely done. Well not quite. There was more cooking that needed to be done after my second cut into the breast. No worries, I had two breast and so I cut sliced the other and the juices flowed out and I thought yes the got this right....... Nope. I cut deeper and it wasn't done either. I told Jeremy I just wanted a refund at this point which he gladly gave me and apologized continuously. Sadly, when I looked at my wife's chicken compared to mine, it was quite easy to tell hers was not that fresh. It looked dry and maybe reheated. The chicken sandwiches were pretty tasty. The food came out quickly. No complaints. i would try it again. (I would say the spicy sandwich was a bit better than the buffalo). Haven't tried the bone in chicken yet. read more

So many years ago, while working for an armored truck company, I used to drive by these restaurants called Pollo Campero in northern Va. I was happy to see one in Fred'burg and finally was able to make a visit. It's located off Plank Rd (Rt. 3) next to Taco Bell, diagonally from Honey Pig and At Home. As you walked in, the restaurant is very clean, seats are space out, and you make your order with cashier. The menu offers combo meals, sandwiches, empanadas, variety of side dishes, one dessert and they prepared their chickens in two ways: fried and grilled. What I find unique and different about their self served beverages, not only they offer soda drinks but also a floral, fruit and horchatas too. I ordered 4 items: 1) 2 piece combo meal 2) Chicken empanada 3) Spicy chicken sandwich 4) Mango nectarine drink. Once you place your order, you are given a number and if you don't mind a little wait since the food is made freshly. The food will be brought to your table with real utensils and napkins. The two piece chicken which is a leg and thigh were served with fried plantains as my side. Their fried chicken was tender, crispy and succulent. Be careful with the first bite as they are piping hot but very delicious. You don't need any sauce because they are well seasoned and the plantains were cooked perfectly. They too were delicious. Surprisingly their chicken empanada had a light outer skin and the filling was full of umami. I will definitely order more than one next time. The spicy chicken sandwich was layered with pickles, has a thin crust, and spread with a habanero sauce. I just wish there were more of the sauce though but it was very good. I wash it down with a mango nectarine drink which was smooth, refreshing and delicious. My cashier was named Jocelyn. She was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They just opened and we went inside to order. We waited in the line all to be told it is a 30 minute wait to order chicken. So I just ordered Yuca fries and beans. Very disappointed with the way it is being run. Will wait a month and try some chicken but for now it is not worth coming here.it has been over 30 minutes and I still have not received my small beans and small Yuka fries. This is absolutely ridiculous. It took a hour to get a small bean, which was very small and an extremely small Yuka fry. I will never come back. Not worth the price. Couldn't understand why this Pollo Campero is rated so low as the one in NVA was really good. So, I went to this one in Spotsylvania and found out why. I ordered a 4-piece fried chicken and was told that it would be 6 minutes for the breast and wing. Well, that was fine with me as I prefer to have fried chicken cooked to order. But when I got my dinner all 4 pieces were not very hot and dried out. I couldn't even eat the breast. And when I asked for salt and pepper, he looked at me like I was asking for Tumeric and he said they do not have salt and pepper. I asked again because I thought he misunderstood me but again they don't have salt and pepper. I think this must be the only restaurant in the world that doesn't have salt and pepper. And they serve French fries, Cole slaw and other items that need it. read more

A great place to eat with family, a wonderful experience. The chicken was delicious and the service was excellent and personalized.

Drive thru worker had a difficult time taking my order as there was a language barrier. Rephrased my order multiple times just for it to still be wrong. The location was not busy but was told to wait in the front for the order. This took over 15 minutes. Finally went inside to speak to someone and the presumed manager was on his phone when approached and did a terrible time communicating to us about the shortage of a food item. The food is super delicious and the staff members are very friendly, they were really quick with my order especially when it was really busy. Some of these comments don't know what there talking about, they are very dramatic, mostly all of them speak English but this is my new favorite place to go eat and will definitely recommend others to come here the atmosphere was great! read more

I visited this past week, around 2 pm. The drive-thru line was ridiculously long so I parked by At Home and went inside. The lobby line was near the door, but the line moved steadily, probably stood about 10 minutes. I waited on my food about 10-15 minutes. I ordered a 12 pc family fried chicken meal with fries and rice, and also an order of nuggets. The chicken is very flavorful, although fried a little hard for my taste. The fries were just ok, no seasoning on them. I wasn't a fan of the rice, (hate peas). I'd order the nuggets next time though as they were thick and juicy, breast meat chunks. The dipping sauce I had was similar to Zaxby's. read more
