Maman Joon is a fantastic spot for a quick, satisfying bite. The chicken kabob was juicy, tender, and full of flavor, and the salad was crisp and refreshing. Service was great--friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. Ambiance is good with outdoor and indoor seating available. A perfect go-to for something delicious on the go.

The workers at Maman Joon were super friendly, and if you dine in, they'll bring the food out to your table after making everything fresh. The restaurant is large with lots of seating. kubideh with basmati rice - I was pleasantly surprised by how juicy and beefy the meat was. We asked for the green sauce on the side, which added a nice bit of spice and really brought the dish together. The grilled onions were charred perfectly and had a nice crunchiness that I loved. I do wish the tomatoes were grilled a bit longer--some pieces still tasted a little raw and acidic. The rice comes with a pat of butter on top; it's a nice touch, but next time I'd probably just avoid mixing in the whole thing since it made the rice a bit too rich for me. 3.25/5

At Tyson's for a movie, but we were early, so we decided to explore the food options instead of relying on popcorn. And I'm glad we did because we found Maman Joon tucked away into a side alley. What a find! If you like Middle Eastern food, Maman Joon hits the spot. I got the salmon and rice - perfectly cooked salmon, moist and smooth, with just enough char on the outside to add some crunch. And extra points for the pat of butter laid within the rice! It took longer than expected to get our food, but we got slices of pita bread with various sauces in the meantime, so it all worked out. If you're at Tysons and looking for something new, try Maman Joon and get your fill - you won't be sorry!

I've been to Maman Joon several times now and glad the quality of their food remains the same. Juicy seasoned kabobs with lots of rice and a side of bread if you sit down in the restaurant to eat. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and it can get pretty crowded on weekends. My favorite is the chenjeh kabob and chicken kabob.

I've tried a bunch of their kabobs, including the Salmon. But on my last visit, we went for the lunch special that came with Kubideh on rice (half rice half salad) and Chicken Kanob on rice. Both were tasty! The Kubideh was definitely my favorite - super juicy and packed with flavor. The chicken kabob was really tender and delicious too!

The lamb and chicken kabobs are SO incredible. Usually the lamb kabobs i've had are so chewy and my jaw hurts eating it, but this one is so juicy and tender and seasoned perfectly. the chicken kabob is my favorite. it might actually be the best chicken kabob i've had in this area. so juicy and seasoned perfectly, i could eat it for days. i love the basmati rice as well, it's warm and fluffy and is so good with the kabobs. the place is always crowded but the service is fairly quick still. great location in tyson's, ambiance is great they also have outdoor seating.

Soooooo yummmmy! I honestly am I shocked this spot is not more hyped up. We really enjoyed all our food here. Located in Tysons mall. The service was okay nothing to rave about. They were extremely quick! The ambiance is casual, there's seating inside and outside. The pricing is a bit high, but they give you A LOT of food. I ordered the combo beef kebab and steak kebab. I'd give it a 10/10 for both meats, very well seasoned. My bf ordered the chicken and beef which ended up being really good as well. Overall, I'll definitely be visiting again!

Didn't know this place existed at Tysons Corner. It's hidden back by the Lucid and Michael Kors stores. If you don't know about it, you should. The food here was phenomenal! My gf and I stopped in for lunch one day and knew from the smell of the food alone that it was gonna be good. It was a tad pricier but they also give a good amount of food. I ordered the chicken and steak kebabs. She ordered the steak and kofta kebabs. They give pita bread and dip to eat while you wait. Note that they only give the one sauce per person! More sauces costs extra. The kebabs were so flavorful and tender. The service was fairly quick. The manager (maybe owner?) was kind. He did end up giving me an extra sauce for free since I didn't know they were extra. The food only took about 5 mins or so to come out. The ambiance is super casual. There's tables inside and some outdoors as well. They can hold a good number of people. Definitely will be coming back here. One order could definitely make for two meals for a lot of people!

So, I stumbled upon Maman Joon Kitchen at Tyson's and l can say its a solid chicken spot Vegetarian Friendly: Sadly this spot is not a great place as a lot of the menu is meat heavy. They do have options but you should really eat here as there main attraction is meat Decor: The ambiance is inviting and chill. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. And the bonus is they have outside heaters that keep you warm if you want to sit outside. Food Highlights: The Chicken Kabob stole the show for me as it was very well marinated and they included bread and yogurt which was great! Portion Size: Portion sizes are pretty good here so you definitely won't leave hungry, and you might even have some leftovers to enjoy later. But I wish they included 1-2 pieces of chicken as there was a lot more rice to chicken. Price: Considering the quality and quantity of the food, I'd say the prices are reasonable especially for Tyson Area. And just wanted to say there service was really good and got the chance to met the owner Peter Tabibian who was very nice and welcoming! Would I go Back: So even though it's good if I am in the mood for Chicken and Rice I would rather go to DCG as it has more toppings. But for a kabob place it was pretty good!

I drove to Tysons Corner once just to try this place out. It's tucked away inside the actual mall ( bottom floor past Macys ) but very spacious for lots of seating. I ordered the Combo 1 ( Ground Beef Koobideh Kabob & Chicken Breast Kabob with rice ) as that's my go to whenever I order from Moby Dicks. You really can't go wrong with both as I really savored the Koobideh Kabob and it's seasoning and just the charred taste from the Chicken Breast chunks were satisfyingly to me. They give you a lot of rice with a slice of butter to mix around in. If you plan to eat here, go on an empty stomach. By the time I finished eating, I felt extremely bloated and had to walk around to let my stomach digest for a bit.. that's why the mall is there right? The people there were nice and asked me how was my food where I thought which was nice. They care about people that eat there and it shows that they want to ensure your satisfied with your meal. Good on them for looking out. If there's only one complaint I could make, the music is a tad too loud. Despite moving to another table, it was still pretty noisy.

Bottom right - menu shows 6% fee for inflation (shown as the service and packaging fee on receipt - kinda crazy)
    Esha Z.

Visited today - had a code to get a free appetizer and 15% off. They honored it at the register, It's located next to the Michael Kors so it's right in front of the parking garage where &pizza and dry bar are located. They honored my coupon but upon returning home, no appetizer was in my bag :( ! Also, even with the discount it came out to the same price bc they charge a 6% inflation fee for service and packaging .... Lolll I've never been somewhere that charges a fee for a takeout container, and if you're not dining in there shouldn't be a fee like that imo. Otherwise: The wait time isn't bad, maybe about 10-15 min, which is decent. The kabobs were okay, my sister said it tastes exactly like Moby Dick kabob, even down to the sauces. The portion is decent, the chicken was tender, BUT the naan/bread that they give with the order is so small, you have to ask for green chutney, they don't just give it to you, and I had a missing appetizer. The food is okay, but I wouldn't say it's the best in the dmv, considering there's so many other better places in the area. I probably would not go here again.

This is one of the best kabob places I have eaten so far. Despite of what others say, the food is great and very tasty. I love how the food is made to order and they are cooking a lot of the meats right there. I believe the best bet is to get the combo. The combo either comes with your choice of rice or salad. I got the salad with mine and it was still plenty and filling. The service was great and the workers are polite. I got the chicken and koobideh platter and let me tell you, the meats were so juicy and NOT dry at all. The chicken comes in cube/square shapes and it was still filling! I believe the food is great for the price. I didn't think I would finish it but I pushed through and finished the plate. Inside of the restaurant is kind of bare - and seating is limited. There are no seats for a big party - we had 6 ppl but were lucky enough to all fit in a table that looks like it was designed for 4. I would recommend this place!

The appetizer sampler is a great way to start the meal, the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the Adana kabab was flavorful and well seasoned. My only disappointment came at the end of the meal. We were planning to order dessert, but the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had stopped by a few minutes earlier to let us know the kitchen was about to close and ask if we wanted to order anything else. That small bit of communication would have made the experience even better. Overall, this is still a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I finally stopped by on July 25, 2026, while I was in the area. The line was long, and I waited about 5-10 minutes before ordering. At the time, I took that as a good sign. The place is small and a little dingy "allegedly", but of course these are the best food spots! I got home, took my first bite, and immediately smirked. I took another bite and realized the smirk was confusion because I could not understand the reviews or the crowds I always see waiting to order. The food severely lacked flavor; literally the only thing I could taste was the sauces. Yikes. Their proteins and fries are perfect, their salad is cold and crisp, and the execution of their rice is consistently the benchmark. First off though: the lighting is really harsh. I flip flop between the Falafel Platter and the Mixed (Chicken + Lamb Gyro) Platter with the following no-charge mod: NO fries, MORE salad. This leaves the rice alone - you will get rice - and it is a very long grain, saffroned, Basmati rice that is distinctively al dente. Not fluffy or clumpy - they are highly separated and firm rice grains, and I absolutely love it this way. This rice blows the competition far and away. If you like fries, they are good - they're the double-fried "Burger King" style and keep their heat decently well in the to-go clamshell. The sauces are quite special. I like them all. I always ask for the following on-the-side (no zig-zags for me): the white (tahini-like), the green (cilantro), the red (spicy), the orange (signature Blazin spice). There are a couple of others, but I find these 4 create a nice balance. Oh and the late-night hours secure the 5-star rating. Dear Joon Management,…read more My family and I have been regular customers at your restaurant since March because we truly enjoy your excellent Persian food. I have also brought many coworkers and friends to introduce them to your restaurant. Unfortunately, during every visit over the past several months, the rice has been excessively salty. It tastes as though salt was added to the rice rather than the rice being properly seasoned. In May, I brought eight guests, and nearly everyone left their rice untouched. In early July, I returned with four people, and once again no one ate the rice. We mentioned the issue to our waiter, who was very polite and said he would inform the manager and the cook. On the third Wednesday of July, I came with two friends, and once again none of us ate the rice. I spoke with the manager, who was very kind and assured me she would discuss the issue with the cook. Unfortunately, despite reporting the problem more than once, nothing has changed. If this had happened only once, I would not be writing this email. However, after several disappointing visits, I expected that our meals would have been replaced or that we would not have been charged for food that was left uneaten because of the overly salted rice. I respectfully request that you consider providing a refund or another appropriate resolution for our most recent visit. More importantly, I hope this issue is corrected so future customers can fully enjoy your excellent food. If our feedback is important to you, I would appreciate hearing from you. I would also like to share your response with the friends and coworkers I have encouraged to visit your restaurant. My name is David A., and my email address is Shirpelang@gmail.com. This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me. I don't regret stopping by, but I wish my stomach was more settled. I just came from a restorative yoga class and I was thoroughly at peace.

Well, this time we actually tried it. I'm a simple caveman - we've got a bowl with basmati rice, chicken AND lamb/beef gyro, tahini, and hummus. Hits the damn spot. Fountain drinks, combo options, cups for water, and bottled drinks. You go down the line, say what you want (like every fast casual these days), and end up at the register. Fast operation. Plenty of seating indoors.

The vibe was…read morenice, but I felt like service fell below what I had expected. 3.5/5 First and foremost, parking is either self parking in the garage for $8 or valet for $3. We had a family event of approximately 36-40, and 4 waiters to attend to our party. I think it would be better if they split the waiters by section- I felt it was disorganized - I had to ask for the drink menu 3x and waited 20 minutes. They also took our dessert order but then my mom and I never got ours- but the waiter said he brought everything out (there was nothing served to us), and he did eventually bring it out about 25-30 min later when we were leaving. It seems like they bring around the meat selections speedily for about 30-45 min (it's like one immediately after the other) and then it's finished- so make sure you get the selections within those first 30-45 min. But they did bring some meats back when people asked- so that was nice. The ribeye and filet were the best, I'd skip the chicken- super dry. Desserts were average to subpar. Cosmo was watered down but the espresso martini was good! I think I'll try again as just a smaller party/regular dining guest and see how that goes. Overall, felt like it was ok but room for improvement. Service was the biggest thing that overshadowed the experience.

The salad bar was plentiful and had a good mix of toppings. We really loved the smoked Salmon and beef carpaccio. They also had hot side dishes and steak sauces available. Our favorite was scallop potatoes. In terms of meats which is the star of the show, we loved the Cajun Lamb, Cajun ribeye, salmon with cilantro sauce, and grilled pineapple with cinnamon. We underwhelmed with the beef rib because it tasted more like pot roast. All the other options were solid and truly no bad bites at all. Loved the experience and will be back!

I ordered the Chelo kebab kubideh ($20.99). This entree had 2 ground meat skewers, a grilled tomato, raw onion, and rice. The skewers were not simply juicy and well spiced. They redefined how much flavor I could expect out of grilled ground meat, making others taste flat or missing something. The rice portion was absurd. I hadn't eaten anything all day, and yet could barely finish it. I passed out in a food coma afterwards.

First, I didn't realize it was a sit down and order restaurant, I was used to short order. I was quickly seared and within a couple minutes one server had brought me water as well as fresh tandoori bread and a delicious spicy green sauce to go with it. A second server appeared quickly to take my order. I explained I was used to short order, and all I wanted was their version of chicken and steak (not ground beef.) The waiter explained how he'd do the combo on the menu and off he went. Having looked at the menu, I feared this might be an expensive option, and it was. But a few minutes later I was presented with a platter of delicious looking steak, chicken, rice, onions, tomato, and event a char-roasted jalapeño. It was enough food for my wife and I have had for dinner between us, so the price was well justified. Every thing was delicious. At the end of the meal, I asked if I could order another tandoori bread, and get a small to-go container of the green spicy spread to bring home for wife to try. They brought me both a generous helping of bread and the sauce, and charged me for neither. This service, combined with a delicious meal that, while expensive, will end up being three meals, means this is definitely a spot I plan to go back to as well as recommend.
