Nice kebabs and grilled meats. Quick service. One star deducted for price -- a tad high.

I usually take pictures but this time we just started eating straight away . some highlights: Fattoush salad - deliciously crisp and fresh, Sea bass - absolute phenomena! everyone in the table loved this dish and couldn't get more, literally melt in your mouth. The kebabs, chicken and beef were also good. Would definitely recommend this for a nice meal out.

The restaurant was only about half full, with many empty tables available, so this was surprising and did not make me feel particularly welcome. Throughout my visit, many staff members were speaking loudly to each other in Spanish, making it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere or even hear the background music. My server, however, was courteous and provided good service. As for the food, the ground beef in the Soltani was very good, but the Barg was slightly burnt and chewy. Since the meal took some time to arrive, I felt rushed to finish eating before the stated 6:15 PM deadline. For a restaurant where customers are paying premium prices, being pressured to eat quickly is not an experience I would expect or appreciate. I hope this location can improve its customer experience, as I have had much better visits at other locations.

It was a fantastic introduction to some new flavors and the staff was really kind in explaining the dishes and offering recommendations as well. We've had the grilled items before--but really wanted to dive into the stews. Smaller portions but definitely enough to try, especially if you get a few things. We got the kashk bademjan eggplant dish (great with bread and so flavorful), tahdig with khoresh gheymeh, khoresh Fesenjoon (the table favorite for being sweet, sour, tart and a new flavors for us), and ghormeh sabzi. We hung out for a long time to chat and didn't feel rushed to leave, a great spot to take it easy and enjoy a nice meal and chat.

For entrees, we shared the ghormeh sabzi and joojeh. Both were good, I especially enjoyed the heavily peppered veggies and pomegranates on the rice. The entrees were solid. However, the ambiance is lacking, and that is one area they could easily improve with dimmer lighting at dinner. The space is washed out with overly bright lighting that makes it feel more like a fast food joint. The cocktails are also lacking. They have interesting drinks, but they are not well mixed, with way too much juice and way too much ice. I would be interested in trying the lunch menu, as the options are different. We came for dinner on a Friday, and while we may have enjoyed the food as a lunch takeout option, it did not hit as a Friday dinner spot.

They brought out complimentary little cakes with candles, super cute. We did the a la carte entree option, I ordered lamb potato hash which was delish. Deff would come back! It's an upscale environment and for lunch there were a lot of corporate-looking diners. It's a pleasant atmosphere and the staff carefully seats you tables apart so you're not all crowded and it's not too loud. Excellent. We weren't particularly hungry so we asked share a full menu item and then ordered a salad to share. The prefix comes with either a salad or a dip(?) and we opted for the dip. The kubideh kebab was tasty. It was juicy and fresh. The rice was good. The salad was questionable. We didn't really like it but we didn't hate it. I wondered if it was just the vinegar or maybe mustard that was hitting too strong. My friend thought maybe it was stale like they'd pickled it too long. Not sure what it was but we couldn't finish it. When we had eaten about 60% the server came by and offered us pita bread. It would've been nice to have it from the beginning... Overall I would return to try their other foods.

Gorgeous restaurant centered around a giant hearth, the heart and soul of the space where much of the food is cooked. We went with two friends and opted to do ala carte, and ordered a bunch of items to share. - Muhammara & hummus spreads were both phenomenal - creamy, delicious goodness served with piping hot, generous portions of freshly made pita bread. - Halloumi with a nutty honey glaze - perfection - Sweet Potato - soft and just melts in your mouth - Mushrooms - super unique preparation, definitely worth a try. Very delicious. We also ordered every kabob on the menu (shrimp, scallop, chicken and lamb). The shrimp and chicken kabobs were excellent - charred to perfection and bursting with flavor. Paired with zhoug sauce, I was in heaven. Do not miss these! Scallop and lamb kabobs were just okay. Incredible service, beautiful ambiance, and a memorable meal that will stay with me. I was craving kebab and this unfortunately did not hit the spot for me. We got lamb and chicken kebab combo (#5) and ghormeh sabzi. The meats were bland and very dry. Usually when I order lamb kebab I expect full of flavor and juicy, but this lamb was TOUGH like I had to really chew and there was no flavor. Ghormeh was bland too and not that many cubes of beef. Pita bread and rice were both good. The staff were friendly but not really helpful...we asked what ghormeh was and he just said it's "beef." I would say gourmet bazaar (Rockville) is much better.

The entree was a bit of a cafeteria style thing, but it fit the bill; the menu says it offers not only tofu but some red kidney beans in a stew of greens with lime flavor, and while I can't think of any similar combination I've had in all my travels, it works. The yogurt they offer on the side is a Persian staple, but what really shined was the fresh bread whose odor wafted through my vehicle as I drove my takeout elsewhere. A delightfully thin and browned creation, it was 100% worth adding despite the fact that they already gave me a massive pile of rice (with a bit of saffron rice on top of the plain white rice). This isn't high-end cuisine, but they delivered distinctive flavors in a timely and convenient fashion, and with a good range of vegetarian choices. Of their other locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, some of them offer these stews with tofu mixed in and some do not, though falafel and a few other options remain available.

We were having dinner with some friends and this was centrally located - plus one of our friends is Persian and she insisted - so we were offered a lovely glimpse into this beautiful cuisine. As any of you who have read my reviews know, I am Greek and Greek food is among my favorites. Well, Persian food is "kinda sorta" like Greek food only slightly different to keep it interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. We started out the meal with a sampling of appetizers. Zucchini fritters, hummus, fresh tomato salad, octopus, beet salad. All wonderful and all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented! For our main course, we had some lamb, a ground beef kabob and chicken kabobs. All wonderful. The lamb was - in my opinion - perfectly cooked; the meat was "fall off the bones" tender, just the way I like it and just the way that Greek cuisine would cook it. I did not need a knife to cut it. WOW!!! There was also a beef stew so luxuriously seasoned that it transported me to the Middle East! Cinnamon, probably star anise, cloves definitely! Really different and lovely. As good as all the food was, the rice might be the star of the show for me. They have a way of preparing rice so that it has a crust to it. The outer layer is crispy, crunchy (in a good way) and I loved that. The inside rice is tender and chewy. Divine Divan!!! The ambiance of the dining room is okay. Nothing special. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to add an additional star to this review. Service was professional and fast. Will I return to Divan? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Oh yes but not on a night when I want a table there!!!
