Baklavas haven't changed one bit. Still crunchy with that delicious cinnamon flavor. My family ordered to-go recently and the order was ready on time. I believe this is a family owned restaurant, and the couple who are always working are two of the sweetest people I have ever met. Ordered Mama's Combination and a Combo Plate - both were delicious, fresh, and good portion. What I ordered: Small Combination plate (12.99)- I changed the sides it normally comes with so mine came with Steak kabab, chicken kabab and kafta with salad (instead of rice) and moutabal (instead of hummus). Everything amazing! All seasoned really well. The meats had their flavors throughout not just on the outside so you know it was marinated so well. The dressing had its perfect blend of salt and tartness. The moutaball had the smoked charred flavor from the eggplant and the garlic sauce was BOMB DOT COM! Beef Shawarma plate ($6.99)- comes in a bow with jasmine rice and beef shawarma. The rice is so flavorful as if they cooked it in broth and butter or something. The meat was very flavorful through and through. Both reasonably priced! Location: Its in a strip mall, but the sign is easy to find. The place itself is small. Probably seats about 20 people or so. If I lived closer, I would come more often. But when I drive through this place, I'll definitely stop by to pick up food even if I"m not hungry to eat for later. read more

Mama's kabab is located in the plaza with the big shoe city store. Really can't miss it. They have really high yelp ratings...but I'm really not sure why. I guess for the price it really does deserve high ratings, but if you're talking about just taste, then it really doesn't. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich and it just wasn't that good. I like the concept of having something acid/pickled inside, but the taste was just a little weird. The taste of it was just too overpowering. I also got a small hummus on the side and the pitas that I got were just reheated and stale. Some were stale so it was rubbery like I had to bite and forcefully bite off, and some were very hard and difficult to chew. The owner is very nice so it sucks that I'm only giving it three stars, but I'm just trying to write a honest review based on the food that I got. read more

This is a no frills, rough around the edges, family owned, English is a second language type of establishment but the food is totally worth it. Stopped in on a weeknight for takeout. We got two platters (kufta and beef kabab), small side of stuffed grape leaves and baklava. Everything was delicious and so filling! Didn't have high expectations for the baklava but it was surprisingly warm, sweet and the best I've ever had. I would definitely go back! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. With that being said, you can easily pass up this hole-in-the-wall Mediterranean place because, in all honesty, it doesn't look appealing from the exterior and is a little dated inside. But you will be surprised to find that their food is delicious. I had the platter which comes with all the meats and hubby had the lamb shank. He was very impressed with the tenderness of the lamb. We had a wonderful meal at Mama's Kabab. It is in a strip mall and was very clean and had easy parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal (Chicken Shawarma Plate and a Falafel and Hummus Plate). The portions were large, the quality was fantastic and the food was great. The owner surprised us with a delicious order of baklava that topped off a very nice meal! The beef was very tender and savory. It came with rice, pita, garlic, and hummus for only $10.99! The owners said that all dishes came with pita and hummus which is awesome. Everything felt overwhelming with flavors and portions. You can share it amongst two people. My girlfriend ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and that was bomb! Chicken, lettuce, garlic, and beets was def on point! It was only $5.99..I'm having withdrawals right now as I'm typing this review. It was my first time here and we had to compliment the owners. No place can top Mama's kabobs. There's no other sauce that is similar to their house made Garlic Sauce. I don't know what about it, but I can't find any other place that has a similar sauce that taste so good with everything than this place. Family owned, always the same man and lady running the show and they are so kind and even helped us give a name to their delicious garlic sauce. Their meat is always tender if you get the kabobs, never have gotten it over done which shows they take pride in the food that goes out. Now their HUMMUS, sooooo earthy and thick, topped with a little bit of flavored. Nothing like it which pairs well with their soft nan bread. 06.22.2018 Came here with my friend for lunch and to catch up. The place is located in a small strip mall and is a decent size restaurant. It had about 7 tables. As we sat eating for almost three hours we watched quite a bit of people come in and out. The restaurant was clean and it looked as if it was a family-run operation--Mom at the register, Dad cleaning off tables, younger ladies in the kitchen and bringing food out. I ordered a beef shawarma sandwich. The pita tasted fresh and homemade, about the size of a medium flour tortilla (8" or so) because it was thin and not too thick as I've had from other restaurants or stores. I was famished so of course I inhaled it and I didn't slow down to take a picture of the inside of it. But it was about the size of a burrito and was filled with a lot of meat, all the way to the last bit of pita wrap drenched with sauce. There was lettuce, tomato and raw onions (eww! I forgot to ask for no onions) as well as a pickled vegetable. My friend and I shared a small order of hummus and pita, which both tasted homemade and fresh. Of course we didn't even get a chance to finish it. We shared one order of the baklava, which was good. Nothing spectacular, maybe the puff pastry could've been cooked a little longer to have a more golden color. Oh wait, I forgot to take a picture of it before we ate it. Well, I just moved back into the area and searched for Mediterranean food. This place showed up, and I'm so glad it did. Walking in and staring at the menu, the lady greeted me. I told her it was my first time, and she welcomed me immediately. The hospitality she gave showed her love for her food, customers, and how she is as an overall person. I got the chicken shawarma plate! Let's say it was so good! I'm usually a picky person with meat, but this had such good flavor and excellent quality. The food took quite some time to come out... good thing while waiting they provide the hummus and pita bread. The pita bread was okay. The hummus was good. After almost finishing that up the food finally came out. Well one dish.. then maybe 5 mins later or so the last dish. Food was very good and refreshing. I got the salad with it and it was so good. The food was great, the wait for it took forever and afterward my stomach wasn't so happy... it was just me but my stomach wasn't happy with it. So minus a star for waiting and the upset stomach.
