Well after searching for a good breakfast place I came across mamas kitchen; I read reviews, saw pictures and thought this is it. Sadly..... it is not my food didn't have any flavor my scramble eggs had no taste I had to add ketchup and salt.... The waffles were hard..... sadly this wasn't it for us. Price wise was alright but just not worth the lack of taste. Delay with the food I get because it was busy but for the delay you would think the food taste amazing ...... not. This is a great diner located close-ish to USF and Busch Garden. I wanted to get a keto-friendly meal after shopping at MD Oriental. I stumbled upon Mama's Kitchen, which certainly offers up diner food but also has a decent amount of central-FL Greek food on the menu. I ordered the "huge gyro salad," and it was indeed huge! A generous amount of fluffy gyro meat was given, as well as large pitchers of both Greek dressing and tzatziki (go with the tzatziki, it is sooooo creamy and delicious). The salad comes with grilled pita bread and potato salad, so I ate around those. It had a lot of mixed greens compared to the cucumber and tomato, and almost no onion or bell pepper. So not the most authentic Greek salad, but it was all quite tasty, although I think the olives were the saltiest I've ever experienced. Service was fast and pleasant. I was offered a diet Coke for the road, which was a nice touch. I'll happily return when I'm allowed to eat carbs again. :) read more

So now that the old lady and I are on vacation in Tampa, we woke up this morning, famished and awaiting our cruise so we stopped at this joint. Of course, we found it on yelp so we will give. It was not crowded at all. We sat down immediately. The whole ambience of this diner was pretty cool a lot older crowd and older so I ordered the Greek skillet. She ordered pork chops and eggs. We had two mimosas apiece. Friendly diner spot and very welcoming for a party of eight. The kids were given crayons and paper menus they could color. They had several choices of meals, including chicken tenders or grilled cheese. The grownups had orange juice mimosas (other option was cranberry juice). We ordered the Hangover platter, biscuits & gravy, vegetarian omelet, french toast, French Toast Burger, Greek Bennie, and chicken & waffles with a side of Hollandaise sauce. Everything was very good. The only thing we would pass on next time would be the French toast, it was a bit soggy. And it wasn't successful on the burger either. Texas toast bread would have been better. But definitely would recommend you try Mamas Kitchen if you're in the area and looking for a well-made hearty meal. All the staff were awesome. Went for breakfast after reviewing and ending up getting lunch! We were seated immediately! Pops, at the front had a great sense of humor so made ya feel right at home. It's a quaint little spot so if you go for breakfast especially on the weekend go early. George (I believe) told us about the specials and talked us right into it! Two Ruben's with fries right up. One with sauerkraut and the other with homemade coleslaw please with both dressings on the side. It was served shortly after, steaming hot, can you say mouth burn along with smoking hot fries! Wanted to try there eggs Benedict and Grits. So far the coffee is nice and hot and fresh. Noise is calm some oldies and two TV's . Looks like a place where older Vets meet for breakfast . Service is great as expected smiles all around , I feel welcomed and ready to eat . So my dish was ok . Taste was great but not a classic Benedict my egg was scrambled and covers not boiled . The ham they used in the omelet was low quality super salty crap. They don't have half and half other than in those toxic little plastic cups (they should serve fresh half and half in a pitcher). The place is a gem. Not much to look at from the outside but on the inside it transports me back to a local small diner in NJ. The food was delicious, fresh and portions were enormous. I highly recommend sharing. We will be back to try a few more dishes real soon. Only comment is they didn't have non dairy alternative milk for my husbands coffee. He's lactose intolerant. Ordered via Yelp/grubhub. Ordered two large breakfast Cubans with bacon, eggs, and cheddar. When we picked up, they gave us the wrong order- we discovered after opening the boxes when we got back in the car. We went back inside, got the right order, and came out to the car to eat it. I opened the sandwich and discovered that they forgot to put cheese on both sandwiches. We could have gone back inside to let them fix but didn't want to wait for them to melt the cheese, and didn't want to throw cold cheese slices on top of it. Should have been right the first time.
