I haven't had such a positive experience eating out in a long time. Mama's Kitchen is a great restaurant for several reasons: the food is a tasty blend of American breakfast and Greek traditional cuisine, the prices of (nearly) each dish costs less than ten dollars, the staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit and service was quick. Since I have only lived in Tampa for a couple of years, I've been slowly getting to know the breakfast diners in the Temple Terrace area. This restaurant beats out all the other breakfast places I've been to so far. My girlfriend and I arrived at Mama's Kitchen at 6pm. Surprisingly, the restaurant was nearly empty (except for two other couples) throughout our meal. I ordered a Cafe con Leche and Sunrise Omelet, and my girlfriend ordered "Nick's Sandwich." Within twenty minutes, our food was out and ready. Our waiter explained that the food took twenty minutes to prepare only because they were making fresh Hollandaise Sauce for my order, and it was worth the wait. My eggs were fresh, and their sauce was delicious! If you're at a loss of what to order while you're at Mama's Kitchen, try out their Sunrise Omelet. My girlfriend's order, "Nick's Sandwich" included crispy hashbrowns ("well seasoned" as she said), and she also enjoyed the main dishes mixture of ham and bacon. Our meals were not too greasy either. By 6:50, we were done eating and on our way out. If you're looking for a place to enjoy breakfast food with your family or a group of friends, Mama's Kitchen is perfect, as there are plenty of tables. The atmosphere was chill, with low-volume Classic Blues, RnB and Rock n Roll playing overhead and historic pictures of Florida displayed. As you might expect, this place gets a healthy share of locals and regulars that appreciate being called out by name as they settle into a booth.
