As you can probably tell, I love pizza. Crazy thing is the only pizza I can eat is Cheese pizza (a lil extra sauce please) so be that as it may, Mamas always ALWAYS gets it right on the money. I usually get in and greeted by the nice lady at the counter (remind me to ask her name so I can update this review with it) who takes my order and offers me coupons each and every time I go. My only complaint is on ME and its that I do not live close enough to enjoy this pizza more, so when I go its like a 25 min trek for me but wow is it ever worth it. This is my absolute favorite pizza. The taste and quality are always consistent. There is the perfect sauce to cheese to bread ratio. I don't understand the negative reviews I've seen. This is the best pizza buffet in the metroplex. It's not perfect or ideal. It's not as good as you could probably get if you paid for expensive pizza at a sit down place. It's on par with most delivery places... which makes it quite a bit better than most buffet pizza, Cici's, Gatti's, and Pizza Inn included. The pizza is always fresh and hot but the price for that is that there isn't a huge selection. This would be my preference. I would much rather have only four types of pizza at a time than to have eight or nine that have been under a heat lamp for an hour. This also means limited variety when it comes to types of crust and toppings. That said--I like the sauce, the meats, and the other ingredients. I feel bad giving it four stars but I'm trying to say that it's possible for it to be better. But really, the choices they've made are pretty good ones and I wouldn't be able to tell them a better way to run the place. read more

Love Mama's Pizza! What really does it for me is that they have the best salad bar of any pizza buffet place. Lettuce is always very green and healthy, which is where other buffets fail. Plus lots of other veggies, sides, and condiments to add. The pizza is good, too. A little bready, as they use a full crust, but plenty of toppings. (Again, the opposite of some of he other pizza buffet chains). They only have three or four out at a time, so they turn over quickly and stay fresh and hot. They are great about taking requests for the next pie, if the one you want isn't out. The pasta offerings on the buffet are a little anemic - just some penne and sauce. That's not what I'm there for; still, it's nice that they have something. The cinnamon rolls, however, are a crowd favorite - made with the pizza dough and slathered in glazed cinnamon sugar icing. Prices are already decent for a buffet. It's even better for families with young kids. Up until age 8, the prices is some fraction of a dollar (maybe $.50?) per year. After ten years, it's still a frequent choice for my family when we're in the mood for pizza. read more

This place makes pizza the way it is supposed to be made! HUGE size and a delicious sauce made from what can only be unicorn sweat. The cheese bread has what many other cheese breads are lacking: cheese. It's everywhere! We will be back for another pickup for movie night. Quality vs Quantity! Is the pizza better than cici's? As far as flavor, YES! As far as variety then NO. The place is small but the pizza has flavor. The pizza seems to run out too quick and you dont get to choose between many options. I wish they will add an option to make your own pizza, or add different topics and maybe try different types of crust but then you are turning into pizza hut and cici's and my guess is that they want to stay unique. If you add additional topics and options then this place could make it big! Give me more options and I will come back. read more

It had been over 20 years since I had been in a Mama's Pizza and it was just as I remembered. The pizza is very good and the service was prompt. The crust is really the difference here, hand-tossed style that is chewy. The sauce has just the right amount of spice and sweetness. This place has been a staple for families across the town so it has a really friendly environment. The food is extremely filling, but it's really greasy and the overall decor of the restaurant is a little icky. Nonetheless I would recommend going here if you don't have anything important the rest of the day so that you can sleep off the heavy food. Mama's is a great little pizza buffet great salad bar cheese bread and pasta 190990009 times better than cicis at around the same price. The only downside is they only have room for 5 pies. There used to be a number of these around. Back in the 80s, the Beltline store in Farmers Branch was one of our hangouts. Alas, it's no more. But this site is still turning out the same thick-crust pizza that I remember. If you're a thin-crust fan, go somewhere else. But if you like a thick-crust and plenty of toppings, this is the place. The buffet is a great deal, and is constantly being restocked. However, it does have limited hours. The afternoon buffet shuts down at 2pm on the dot. Plan accordingly. read more

For a quick bite w kids this is good and fast. Pizza tastes better than ur avg Cicis pizza buffet. Cinnamon rolls for dessert were great, Pasta was lousy but Salad Bar was good. They seem to be pretty strict about shutting down the buffet although they never said anything about time frame when we came 10 minutes before the afternoon close....its a bit misleading...the lady at the front was very rude and unwelcoming.
