    Broken blinds just left hanging

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We stayed in unit 103. All I can say is RUN RUN RUN from this Place. The moment we step foot in this unit, there was an awful smell, the slider door was broken, it was dirty, there was hair in the corners of the bathroom floor, the shower heads looked like they never were cleaned. The hot water runs out after a very short shower. We tried airing out the condo in 30° weather, which didn't get rid of the smell. They did come fix the slider door. There is no attention to cleanliness in this unit. We brought this to the attention of the property manager and they offered us a refund of the 3 nights we did not stay. They also offered us another unit, so we looked at it, total ghetto apartment neighborhood! Neighbors above were yelling. So we took them up on their offer of a refund of the 3 nights we did not stay. Long story short they only gave us 2 nights refund even though they Said we would get 3 night refund. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. It was dirty and the property manager lied to us. This was our 1st time visiting mammoth & it was a horrible experience. We ended up driving 6 hours back home since there was nothing else available to stay the night. In total, 12 hours of driving to stay 1 night. Thanks Mammoth Estates and Red Awning property management!!!!!

    Unit 211

I can only speak of unit 211. As a group we have stayed at the village and picked this place because it was about $1000 cheaper. We knew we would give up a little on location for the price. The location was ok. Easily within walking distance to the Village. Mind you though it was not snowing during our trip. Snowing and freezing at 1am on the walk up the hill would probably be a different story. The unit we had was not updated except for the kitchen. The rest of the unit looks as if it hasn't been touched since the early 80's. I posted photos of the unit. If you are a group of 20 year olds looking to save money this is your unit. Anyone whom is used to 3 stars or above, look on.

The location is excellent -- less than a 5-minute walk to the gondola. They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.
