Very happy to have tried this place. Had it for lunch and now once a week we have it for dinner. The idea of customizing your own bowl is nice. Never had a bad bowl. The scoops seem a little small but it's pretty filling. The place is small. Not many tables to sit and eat. Seems to be more of a carry out place. Been pretty lucky to park right in front and pickup. Will keep coming unless a closer place is found. But close to work.

The best poke I've had so far in the city. The rice is true sushi rice seasoned appropriately and not dry or overcooked. All of the toppings were incredibly fresh and their spicy mayo was delicious. Portions for things could be a little more, but the price is very reasonable so not complaining. I will definitely be back!

Best poke in Chicago! I've had a few other places before Mammoth around Chicago and honestly Mammoth is the best in terms of quality & freshness. All the ingredients they have looked amazing and tasted like they were made that morning, not sitting in a fridge overnight. I really loved that they don't skimp on toppings and you can pretty much get whatever you want on top without an up-charge (save for 1-2 items). There were around 6 different types of protein to choose from. I ordered the spicy shrimp, spicy tuna, and the raw ahi tuna. Another nice touch they do is to individually mix and season the raw fish on its own before adding to the bowl. I got cilantro & jalapeño, along with some sauce. The bowl left me feeling full and with plenty of energy to tackle the rest of the day at a CrossFit class. Save to say this is healthy, powerful, & fresh food. Doesn't break the bank at $15.58 for the 3 scoop bowl - 13.95 before tax (Chicago be taxing smh). Great deal for great food. Thanks again, Mammoth!

We've been doing a lot of Poke throughout Chicago the last several years, and this is our new favorite. No surprise, they always seem to be slamming with their takeouts, with a whole team preparing each bowl. They are generous with each ingredient and portion, and their sauces are a delicious compliment. The staff is friendly and welcoming .

Visiting Chicago and we wanted to try something close by so we decided to check this place out. I highly recommend - one of the best poke bowls I've had. Perfect for a quick bite while exploring and will definitely be back. I ordered the build your own bowl with half rice and half salad. The price was good for 3 scoops of your choice of protein. One thing that stood out to me here is that they offer many amazing toppings that i haven't seen from other places I've been. Some of them can cost extra at other places. The sauces that I recommend was the Hawaiian Poke Sauce which was apparently the most popular, as well as spicy mayo which you can never go wrong with.

I think I've tried 10 poke places in the city and I constantly come back to this one! It's quick and the place is always so clean! I always get the poke build your own bowl with tuna and salmon and it's FRESH! The spicy mayo, poke and garlic aoili is the elite sauce combo! They offer this place on uber eats but you're going to pay like $15 more than if you go in person , so word to the wise just go in!

Great poke bowl spot! I ordered online and it was ready during the time indicated. Can't speak to the service besides that! Staff did greet me and seemed friendly though. I did the create your own bowl and got 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of cooked shrimp. I usually don't get cooked shrimp but it exceeded my expectations! It was really good. The seafood and veggies were fresh and tasty. I got a combo of the Hawaiian poke sauce and lemon miso, it was a little too saucy for me. Will ask for less next time. Overall solid spot and would return.

Ordered once on Ubereat, and I'm pretty disappointed with the food portion served. The bowl is really small, the size of the bowl is used for 3 scoops of protein at other poke places. The food selection is also very limited. The fish (tuna and salmon) and shrimps are fresh and tender. And one thing I like about this place is that it serves sushi rice. However, I don't think the price and food portion is worth the price. There are better options in town.

Came here because of all the five star reviews on both Yelp and Google. I got three servings of the salmon (non-spicy) with the greens base. The toppings are unlimited so I just went ham on those. Note to self - seaweed salad is $1 extra. I failed to read the sign. :) All the ingredients felt very fresh. The volcano sauce was tasty and not that spicy. Next time, I think I will opt for a rice base because I was still pretty hungry after this. The workers were friendly. The place has very limited seating - maybe for 10 people or so but my friends and I were able to snag one. Overall, it was good but not amazing. It was comparable to other good poke places and there wasn't anything special about Mammoth.

Hands down one of the best poke spots in Chicago! Everything here is so fresh and colorful! Walkable from the Western Blue Line. Last time I went, my bowl was a little salty but maybe that's because I added two sauces. Regardless, the bowls are always so tasty! I usually pay $15+tax/tip for a bowl, but it's definitely worth it! They also have self serve water which is a plus. The space is a little small. I think about 3/4 tables inside and a couple seats outside. I salivate just thinking about this place haha. Can't wait to come back and try new menu items and different bowl combinations! A must try if you like raw fish and poke!

I've gotten poke from Mammoth 2 times now. The first time I ordered a 3 scoop bowl online and was very happy with what I got but the second time I decided to stop by in person to order and I can safely now say that this will most likely be my go-to palace of poke. Mammoth is perfect for someone like me who wants a little bit of everything and being able to choose and see all of the options in front of you is really helpful. I think the price may be a little higher than other places but the quality of ingredients and being able to go all out without feeling judged by the super friendly staff along with the fact that they offer some topping choices I have not really seen available at other poke spots makes it pretty worth it. Also, love that they have multiple sauce/dressing options. I've gotten a mixture of lemon miso and habanero tangy which are delicious and the habanero is not all that spicy. read more

the place is clean, the food is good, it's small, and prepared right in front of you. best to take it to go..there is seating, but it is fast food type of seating, sit, eat, get out.....it's not cheap, 14 bucks for a bowl, but it is good, tasty and fresh...figure about 20 bucks per person with a soda. normally, i would give it a 5 star as it is always good, been there for a year, but didn't see it in my neighborhood until a few weeks ago... THE REASON I DOWNGRADED THIS WAS BECAUSE THIS RESTAURANT TODAY COMMITTED ONE OF MY TWO RESTAURANT SINS.....they charged me extra for what should have been part of my bowl....i.e. the seaweed....and there is NO sign or menu saying they charge extra! it is not the money, i can easily afford what i buy, it is the principle....i do not expect to get to the point of paying, and then there are extra charges, and when i asked about it, they say that is what the owner wants...i felt conned, taken advantage of and cheated, and i hate that....i don't care what i spend, i care when i'm not seeing that on the menu, not being told ahead of time, and not seeing it anywhere but on the register when i am paying. that stinks, hence, my review today of today's experience (10/3/22). I still did tip, just felt cheated by the owner. at least they did not commit the second sin, which is charging me for using a credit card! bump up the price of my meal, i'm good with that, but don't give me the b.s. charges. read more

Best poke in Chicago. It's the freshest. The poke is big chunks. The toppings are fresh. The sauce selection is legit. I'm returning to Chicago from almost a decade in SF and have been looking for a awesome poke place and this is it! They don't try to hide fishy flavor or not as fresh ingredients with a bunch of sauce or marinade. Mammoth poke is Best and freshest poke in Chicago for sure and I've been trying a lot of them and looking for one.. good job! read more

Easily one of the best poke spot in town! They have many options of customization so one can definitely get creative as much as they want with their bowl. You can select up to three proteins (including chicken and tofu) and the quality of the fish was great! And so was the rest of the toppings. I always opt for the salmon, ahi tuna, and spicy tuna, w/ toppings (mango, edamame, crab salad, corn, crunchy garlic), and for the sauce I had the spicy mayo and garlic aioli. I discovered this place a few weeks ago and I've been there 3 times already. I love the options for toppings but overall wish it was a bit more food. I get the standard 3 scoop protein on a salad base but end up having to eat a little something else to feel full. Maybe it's just the salad base...dunno. read more

Butter Cake (5/5): omg this is a MUST, one of the best butter cakes I've had. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Chicago!

I felt like I was waiting and waiting for the things I wanted on the rotary to come, and I also felt like a lot of things I really wanted were not on the rotary anyway. All hot foods were not on the rotary, though that makes sense because then it wouldn't come to you hot anymore. My kids did enjoy the rotary portion, and kept taking food off the conveyor belt, which in the end we had to eat before my kids eyes are bigger than their stomachs. We did get also the cheapest option for lunch, which did not come with dessert, which was a slight disappointment, but you do get what you pay for. I might be back here to give it one more shot. I always love ayce sushi so it was still decent, but I didn't leave wowed by this place.

Most of the food comes through a conveyor belt next to the table, it is basically self serve. For some items I ordered it through an ipad on the table. No person was taking my order, nobody was actively 'serving' me in the traditional sense. Yet in the end I was presented with a terminal, in the hand of a person directly looking at my tip choice, with no quick button for 'no tip'. Perhaps the option was there, but it was so obscure I couldn't find it quickly. If it's a paper signature slip, it's still considered uncouth today to hover over the customer while they write the tip in. What are we doing here? It is literally a conveyor belt sushi, yet tips starting at 18% is clearly still expected. This practice tarnished the experience for me.

The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

I love building my own custom bowl with fresh ingredients. This gives me a healthy alternative when eating out! I get my 5 protein bowl with ahi tuna, seasoned chicken, and fresh salmon. In addition I get it with avocado, pineapple, mango, carrots, crunchy garlic pico de gallo. I love the spicy miso soup as well. My preferred sauces are poke and garlic aioli. read more
