They were able to sit a pretty large party of around 10 people on Sunday night. The vibes are casual which is nice for a quick bite of delicious thai food. Their portions are also fantastic. They were also very nice and patient with our large group. As we were leaving they gave us spring rolls to eat later. Got pad Thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, spring rolls, fresh rolls and pandan sticky rice. The pad see ew was saucy and fairly standard (ate the most of this), the rice was standard as in flavors you'd expect but I wanna point out the rice was fluffier here with big chunks of pineapple, the pad Thai was a little bland for me, pandan sticky rice had hints of pandan, spring rolls were a little bland and the fresh rolls were full of vegetables and bursting (the sauce was really good). While some menu items have meat by-default, there is a green V icon to show what can be made vegetarian/vegan. Make sure you check menu for default spice level. This is a vegetarian review. We really like the pineapple fried rice here. So far it seems to be the most worth it dish on the menu. I'm not entirely sure if the portions for dine-in and takeout are the same. So doublecheck the price and check for yourself. The spicy eggplant is also tasty, but the eggplant texture itself was a surprise compared to other places that serve this dish. I would stay away from the taro spring rolls as they were a strange texture and taste. In terms of dine-in the ambience is no frills and chill. My understanding is that you seat yourself after ordering at the counter, but a server will come by to help clear the table. The seating yourself creates awkward issues with patrons who come in with larger groups who save themselves a table before ordering. Prices are classic Seattle, not cheap nor high end. Parking is a huge hassle here, so takeout is a good stress-free choice. read more

My partner had the herbal crispy chicken and said it was fine but his least favorite of all the Thai places we have tried. His crispy pandan leaf chicken was bland. The menu does have a lot of vegetarian options which is nice, and the prices were pretty reasonable too. You order at the counter and bus your own table, but something that was very off-putting was when they propped the door halfway open on a 45 degree rainy evening. I definitely like it on the thinner side, similar to how it's made in chiang mai. Maybe it's a different region's twist on it? Who knows, but I thought it was ok. Herbal chicken was good - fried chicken with a nice savory sweet coating that'll stick to your bones. The rice it came with definitely was on the older side. Probably two day old rice lol. A top-tier Thai restaurant, especially in Seattle. It's my local favorite and my go-to restaurant when showing people Seattle. It is a decently small place with little seating however the service and overall atmosphere is amicable. However, since my last review, the food quality has definitely gone down a bit. The Pad See Ew is still good, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. It is also worthy noting that the food has taken a long time to be made since I last reviewed it. I remember Manao being quick to serve, however now it takes 30+ minutes to get my order. Food and Drink Recommendations: Pad See Ew (with Tofu): Out of all the Thai places I've ever had this dish remains my favorite of all time. It has the perfect blend of flavoring. They don't add too much spice (which I prefer) but they have crushed chill peppers on the side that you can spice up to your desire. If you come here you HAVE to and MUST try the Pad See Ew. This past Saturday we were craving some spicy pad thai so we came here for some takeout after having some drinks at a little get together with some friends. The restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday evening - they only had maybe 2 or 3 parties seated, but they had a steady amount of people coming in and out for takeout. The place looks more geared for takeout as there is a huge menu and a cashier right as you enter, not too many tables for seating, and a large takeout area where you pickup your order when it is ready. We ordered the pad thai with beef and the basil fried rice with pork (you can choose either tofu, pork, beef, or chicken at no extra cost). I asked the worker if we could make the food spicy and she instructed me that they have a spicy seasoning you can add on the side. I grabbed the chili flakes and the chili oil on the side. The food was ready piping hot in about 10-15 minutes. The food was well-packaged and the portions were larger than most other Thai restaurants in Capital Hill. We added the chili oil to the pad thai and let me tell you - it had a really good kick surprisingly and we only added about half the tiny container. We also added in a full container of the chili flakes but it didn't seem to have too much affect. The pad thai was slightly darker/seemed more soy sauce based than what I was used to and did not have has strong a tamarind taste as I would have liked. Also, the beef was slightly dry. The basil fried rice stood out and was bursting with so much flavor - I would highly recommend. TLDR: quality and quick Thai comfort food that I would want to eat especially if I am craving something spicy, but would probably choose a different protein than the beef in the future. read more

I always get the Panang Curry with Chicken and it is delish! Be sure to say either "extra mild" or "no spice" when ordering if you're like me and have acid reflux or digestive problems. Cause as great as their Panang is, the in-house chef will light your world up with spicy heat & you'll most definitely have a sweaty brow and beads across your upper lip if you don't warn 'em in advance. But they respect my frail dietary preferences and I almost always have a great meal from Manao's. I love it so much I usually buy two orders so I have another ready for the next day when the longing of the previous night's meal sets in! So, Enjoy! read more
