My friend recommended The Patio for me and I'm so glad we stopped by. It's a little off the beaten path and we had to walk 20 minutes from the light rail to get here but it was so worth it. I got the The Patio noodle dish with black bean broth and it was unlike any Thai food i previously had tried. The flavors were complex and the fried tofu I got on top has an amazing crunchy texture. I only wish there were more veggies to balance the heartiness of the plate. I also got the Thai tea and I think it was one of the best I've ever had. I came here for dinner with my friend. We sat on the patio and you order inside. The patio was lovely, very casual. I ordered pad Thai and fried rice for us to share. The rice was probably the best fried rice I've ever had. It was so good, I'm not sure what they did to it but I have been craving more. The pad Thai was a delicious classic dish. I will always love it here. Always. I began coming to The Patio back in college when I lived in Capitol Hill, and was drawn in not only by the friendly employees but also the fact that it's located in a charming, older house. And of course...the food! On my most recent visit back, I had a craving for Khao Soi and boy was it delicious...this is my bf's favorite thing to order from here and with good reason. They really know what they're doing here and the spice levels actually reflect the heat of the dishes. The atmosphere is perfect for cozy dates in the winter--but the summer is also a nice to come too for the outdoor, leafy patio! One thing I love is that they always have fresh flowers on all the tables and family photos on the walls. More favorites: Chicken Satay, Red Curry & any of the soups! read more

The name checks out, there is a huge patio. The food, also check. Classic Thai dishes that are spicy and also flavorful. Also they have a cheaper lunch menu which comes with rice and Phad Thai! I'm so thankful when they cater to the lunchies. They gave timely and courteous service even though we were the only table outside and above that they have a Thai ice green tea which I've never heard of before and is actually really good. Went on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. We sat on the patio which is huge and has lots of umbrellas for the summer sun that's been scorching! They are short staffed but service was still great-we ordered inside and the food came out within 10-15 minutes. The pad kee mao was SO tasty and perfect level of spice. I wish, WISH, I had read the yelp reviews before we ordered delivery. First they called to tell me they were out of peanut sauce, but would not offer me a refund. This peanut sauce, which, when it arrived, had clearly at one time been a very small amount of peanut sauce, diluted to fill a 4 oz container. But like, whatever, that would have been fine if the food was really good. It wasn't. We ordered Pad Thai and a Larb salad. Pad Thai was okay. The Larb was pretty gross. It tasted like tuna fish -- for those who don't know, Larb is a salad of ground chicken, lemongrass, cilantro, red onions, peppers, etc. It is not supposed to taste anything remotely like tuna fish. Larb is one of the most basic Thai dishes. It really says a lot about any restaurant if they struggle to get it right. I hate to leave a one star review I just can't see myself ever wanting to order from here again. :( read more

I used to love this place. It was my go-to for Thai. But they have jacked up the prices, while the service and the place itself continues to decline. Tables are dirty, the patio is falling apart, the seemingly single waiter (on a Sat) takes forever to come by, and forgets about parts of the order. I also found a hair in my food. We watched people walking out because they did not get served and the place wasn't that busy. I hope the owners take heed and put a little more love into this place. They both ordered the mango sticky rice , which ended up being black rice. One of them liked it and the other didn't care for it too much. One also ordered tofu pad thai and said it was lacking flavor and the noodles were kind of on the gummy side. They all stated they would probably never return. I've been eating Thai food since I was a kid (literally like 9 years old). In Seattle, this is my preferred Thai place. Their Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay outweigh most places I've been to. I LOVE their Pad Thai. Their in-house delivery driver, the gentleman, is always super nice. Remembers me as a regular. I've never had an order delivered incorrectly or cold. We decided to try this restaurant because we had a buy one entree get one entree free coupon from The Entertainment app. The food and the service were both good. However when we presented the coupon, the waiter said that he had never seen this coupon. He spoke to the owner who denied ever having put such a coupon on the app, even though it clearly showed the restaurant name and address and logo. The owner did not even have the courtesy to come to our table. We were embarrassed in this situation for no fault of ours. We will never dine in this establishment again. read more

The food is pretty solid, and the ambiance is perfect for a cute date. Albeit the food quality has gone down since I first started going in 2013 (likely catering to customers on capital hill who couldn't handle an authentic Thai spice profile), however each dish is still very tasty. The food here boasts a great variety but with a few strange, less authentic additions (I blame the Californians for the avocado green curry dish). My personal favorite is the crispy rice salad, which has such a filling flavor profile: fresh, sour, spicy, crunchy and more. It can be hard to find in other Thai restaurants so I'm glad you can find it here. Definitely a spot to find good food, better company. read more
