Very expensive (airport prices) for a very bland take on Chinese food. The employee was very rude when I tried to ask questions about what the plates consisted of and what was considered an Entree. The food is wonderful! However, the woman that was checking out was not. She was very passive aggressive. She us up incorrectly and was what I would say angry when I asked for the receipt. Manchu wok is one of the worst places to eat! When it's slow the food will sit ALL DAY as most of the management doesn't care, especially the Tofu! Workers had to assume if someone may have been vegetarian as everything contains chicken broth, but is not listed anywhere to let people know! Most airports these days have some variation of a chinese fast food take out spot, its either a panda express or some local franchise. As i walked around the food court taking a look at the different options, nothing really stood out, including a chicago hot dog or slice of pizza. Usually when that happens i tend to go for whatever asian option is available especially if the dishes look freshly prepared and not too greasy. Overall i found the food to be decent and on par with similiar types of restaurants. I also thought that the portion size was good and the price to be comparable say to a panda express. I thought that the orange chicken was the best when compared to the kung pao chicken and mushroom chicken. My biggest pet peeve with panda these days is that the carton size has been drastically reduced in size and depth and the workers seem to skimp on the scoops they provide. It's not the greatest Chinese food, but it's cheap, quick, and portable, so you can bring to your gate easily if needed. It gets you some protein, some veggies, some carbs before you go. Very forgettable fast food Chinese. Even with lowered expectations of getting food in an airport, the food was a bit below par though the service was quick and the price a bit more reasonable than other restaurants nearby. I tried three items here. The orange chicken was slightly crispy with a sweet orange sauce that lacked any complexity. It would almost have been better if it were less sweet and less sour as the sauce was somewhat unappetizing. The chicken with mushroom was very soft (but not really in a tender sense) where the mushroom didn't have the earthy umami and juiciness I expect from the dish. The green bean with beef was similarly soft without the fresh flavor or firmness I was expecting from the bean. The fried rice tasted like wet white rice tossed with a touch of soy sauce and egg. Gotta say it's probably the cheapest meal you can find in that area but you get what you pay for. Portion was decent but the taste was awful. Orange chicken was extremely sour, and mainly sour. Not sweet not salty, just sour. Lo Mein was slightly mushy and had NO TASTE at all. Beef with string beans was actually better than the other two. Service was pretty quick. They had several entree options and they were varied: beef, chicken, tofu, vegetarian, spicy, curry... The also have quite a few sides: egg rolls (with/without meat), crab Rangoon, pork dumplings (though these were very dry). Price is fair for an airport and the serving size. Here, you will get exactly what you expect. The taste is pretty good, quality is pretty good, service was friendly and fairly quick.
