If you have time to kill in the United terminal AKA terminal one at O'Hare, your options for cocktails are minimal. It's pretty much this or Chili's. I would recommend this. My sister and I were desperate for a nice sit-down restaurant while at the Chicago airport, and this place did not disappoint! Our waiter was FANTASTIC, I wish I had gotten his name. He was just the most friendly guy who made me forget we were in an airport. I feel like he might have been the owner and from Italy. He recommended we get the tiramisu for dessert, and OH MY GOSH - the best tiramisu I have ever had in my life. He said the tiramisu was imported from Italy, and the cocoa from France. As far as airport restaurants go, I thought this place was good! Had a recent layover at O'hare and was definitely in need of some dinner. So many places around the airport are fast food, burgers, or just overall heavy meals and I was craving the opposite. This is an Italian-inspired place, and it seemed rather inviting. Chill atmosphere, tucked back away from the hussle and bussle of the airport terminal, very clean, and overall quiet. Just what I needed. I was quickly seated and greeted with a big glass of water (needed that too!) and given a big ol' menu. Lots of options here- antipastos, a dozen entres, various soups and salads, some good pasta options, pizzas, and desserts! Something light and on the healthier side was speaking to me, so I went with the pollo con zucchini. The server said it was a great decision by me and she was right. It was delicious. I could eat tomato bruschetta all day and it was covered in that stuff! Plus who doesn't like a balsamic glaze. Service was fast, food came out quick & hot, seating was comfy. Very pleasantly surprised by the food here, tucked away in ORD airport next to gate B12, all the way down the hall. If I was not looking for this, I could've easily missed it! I was traveling solo, so I wanted to grab a seat at the bar however it was completely full! This was lunch hour at 12pm, I had about an hour layover. So I grabbed a table instead. There were many seats at the table and many of them were free. Of the joys of solo work travel. I immediately knew what I wanted, the eggplant parm. My food arrived in about 10 mins or so, not too long of a wait. My dish was served hot, and a delightful little side of homemade pasta! Yes you heard it, homemade pasta! I can tell the difference between box vs homemade. There is a consistency to homemade that I love and just brings me back to Italy. The eggplant was tender and I can still see huge slices, not really breaded at all, which I was glad to see. But I did have to scrap off the huge layer of cheese on top. I know many people would call me crazy for scraping off the cheese, but it was just too much! Also service was attentive. Overall pleasantly surprised and would certainly return. read more

Tuscany Cafe in Terminal 1 is excellent for an airport restaurant. I ordered the delicious, old-fashioned minestrone and the lovely, grilled pollo con zucchini with a balsamic glaze. Light and flavorful--perfect before a flight. Portion-wise, the chicken was a lot of food! I couldn't finish. And the service was quick and personal--we loved our waiter, Constantine, who had so much character and sense of fun yet was serious about describing the food. read more

I fly through Chicago (ORD) several times a month, and finally stopped in for some food at Tuscany Cafe. It has a lot of natural lighting with a mix of booths and tables. There are quite a few window seats for watching planes come and go. The best part was the service!! Adriana was absolutely fantastic!! Really exceeded our expectations! I always try to get some vegetables in before a long flight and ORD didn't have a lot of appealing options. We wandered and wandered and finally found this place. I had a minestrone soup and a salad and my husband had a pizza. All were delicious, but I think it was the minestrone that was the star. If it had been served by the gallon I would've still eaten the whole thing. We also enjoyed great service and a very chill and easy atmosphere. You'd think it would be impossible to ruin a simple dish of pasta and sauce, but somehow this restaurant did it. The sauce was bland and watery, like an expired jar from the dollar store. We needed to grab an early lunch before flying out at O'Hare and chose this restaurant since it's a bit further down the corridor of gates and wasn't crowded like the other places we passed earlier. It was quiet, and service was friendly and quick. The Hubs and I opted to share a pizza & a salad. Both were quite good, but the bottom of the pizza crust could have been a bit crisper. My only other gripe was the prices were quite steep, but sadly that is just the normal price gauging at O'Hare airport. I wish they would adopt the same law some other cities are doing, such as Portland, Oregon, where the airport shops & restaurants have to charge along the same rates as other local businesses in the area. read more

Great service, you get your food fast and it comes out nice and warm. The ambiance is nice along with cleanliness. I believe it was the owner/manager who came to talk to me he was very knowledgeable about the menu. He seems very passionate about his job which is really nice to see. I sat at the bar. The wine was perfect. The bar tender was amazing. And the food was perfect too. This was a lovely stop at the airport between planes. I would absolutely stop here again, given a long enough stop. The restaurant was also packed with happy people - a good sign. read more

I have no idea what restaurant the other reviewers are at but there is only one thing to say....the Pizze (as they call it) was hardly edible. Can honestly say it was the worse pizza I've ever had in Chicago. Now it's an airport so I wasn't expecting much but the crust had zero flavor, rubbery texture, a bland sauce, mozzarella grocery quality and 1 leaf of basil in the center. Service was good. Such a rare find in this day and age to find a restaurant in an airport that actually provides real service, real silverware and a real menu you can hold in your hands. It felt like 2019, before they rolled out the QR codes, self ordering, self checkout and total disconnection from human interaction.
