Great experience choosing a new mattress here! We weren't really sure what we should be looking for in a mattress other than it's comfortable. James was able to help us figure out our requirements by offering a broad selection and then more targeted options once we identified Hybrid as our preference. Review - Part 1 (purchase). There will be a Part 2 regarding Delivery and Set-up of our new mattress as well as removal of the old one. With the understanding that we are very "research intensive" and discerning shoppers when it comes to relatively "big ticket" items, I write this "Part 1" review to single out an exceptional salesman at Mancini's Sleepworld in Concord California. We initially chose this company in general and store in particular because it had the two versions of a specific mattress on display (Beautyrest Black C Class Queen in "medium" and "plush pillow top" versions). After giving us some time to look around on our own (there's a tremendous display of mattresses there), we were approached by the salesman, James Dennis. From that introduction and throughout the time we spent with James, I must say that it was one of the best retail sales experiences we have had in a very long time. Firstly, James knew his products. So often, when one does research before a sales visit, the customer knows more about the product than the salesperson (particularly true with new car sales and electronics). Fortunately, Mr Dennis was able to compare and contrast the features of our decade old Beautyrest mattress with the new ones we were contemplating. He also "interviewed" us about sleep needs, preferences and expectations and then agreed that our research had led us to likely candidates for replacement of the old mattress. And then he went further to explain why. In addition, while he certainly had other more expensive mattresses that could've generated an upsell, there was zero pressure to go to some suggested other high end mattress. Once we were all agreed on which mattress (the Black C Class Plush Queen Pillowtop set, including a shorter foundation to match our desired bed height), the "out the door" price discussion began and, suffice to say, James made the negotiation palatable and, including some bonus perks, low enough that my spouse and I only had to nod at each other because we new we had a good deal. BTW, a couple of days later, I noticed a missing "flash sale" perk item on the invoice. So, I called Mr Dennis and it was immediately added to our order - "no fuss, no muss." There are other excellent/knowledgeable retail sales folks like James Dennis. But, in this day and age, they are "few and far between!" Now, if I could only get him to do new car sales for the next few months... Note: We still have the delivery/setup experience due next week. I'll report back here to share how that goes. BUYER BEWARE: We were not informed the mattress you receive after a return is a final sale. Why wouldn't we assume the same terms apply as our first purchase? Before that, we were NOT informed of a $100 fee for returning a mattress. It's a statewide fee, not a Mancini fee. That's fine, but we were not informed of that before buying alongside their "120 night return guarantee." Both mattress, we slept on for a month each, were awful. We slept on a used futon instead, and we slept on the floor instead. Just ordered a "Dreamcloud Premier." We will not be back to Mancini's. read more

Brandon and his "sassy assistant" were absolutely amazing!!!! (Ok his "sassy assistant" was another sales person that was also extremely helpful, we were the only customers in the store for the most part and he helped Brandon get all of our paperwork organized which made the process even easier!) On a serious level, Brandon was just stellar. He showed us a wide variety of mattresses without being suggestive or pushy in regards to price. He listened to everything we wanted and heard everything we said when we gave our feedback. His knowledge of the brands they have was stunning. He shared his personal experiences of 2 visits to manufacturing facilities for the 2 brands we had it narrowed down to. Once we heard those stories it was a no brainer to make our decision. He even explained what to expect for the first few months after our new bed is delivered in terms of the set up and breaking it in. They offered 4 year 0% financing and the paperwork portion of the transaction was smooth and easy! They also adhered to all social distancing guidelines and had individual disposable pillow covers so we could still lay on the mattresses before making our decision. This Company's customer support has gotten bad since 2013, when we bought from them. I recommend not to purchase from them as they are overpriced and use incompetent subs. We bought a new mattress, rails, and headboard. The mattress is giving me neck and back pain. Three trips out to bring the initial products and to install and exchange a headboard, With respect to the headboard, they did not install it properly. There are two long screws sticking out. If you clean around it, you will cut yourself or tear the mattress, if moved. They don't send their subs with the proper mounting hardware. One of the brackets is uneven. We sent them pictures and we will see what "excuse" they come up with. read more
