I absolutely cant say enough wonderful things about Mandarin Court. My family lives in the area so we have been ordering from and dining in at Mandarin Court for many many years. The service has always been incredible and outstanding and they always go out of their way to make the dine in experience wonderful. We were once brought special rolls that the chef was experimenting with to help them determine if it should be a permanent fixture on the menu. That roll actually ended up becoming a family favorite and is ordered everytime we dine here (the American Dream Roll). After years of trying multiple dishes from here our family favorites are: Crystal Chicken, Kung Pao 2 Kinds, Ginger Salad, crispy beef, Lettuce Wraps, any of the sushi, and the general tso's chicken. I Love this place the owner is the nicest guy. He knows who I am when I call or come in and treats his customers as friends. The delivery driver is also very good and very nice. One day someone forgot my sweet tea on he order so he went back personally got the tea and brought it back within 10 minutes without me asking. Wonderful little sushi gem in Dumfries. The sushi here is delicious and they always make sure they give you enough ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce when you are ordering to go. They deliver as well which is great. I have tried mostly their sushi but my friends have gotten some of their Chinese food. The previous reviews led me astray. I chose this Chinese spot based on the reviews and I feel so very inclined to write a review because I've genuinely never had Chinese that tasted so horrible. The fried rice tasted extremely odd and the shrimp and broccoli was drenched in a sauce (ordered general tso's shrimp) that tasted like a cleaning supply spray. I thought, perhaps, it was just me so I forced my family to also taste it; they insisted I not eat anymore because it tasted as if the food may have been spoiled. The first 2 times I've ordered from this place I only ordered sushi.. Always the same rolls.. American Dream..dynamite and dancing eel roll, they were good then. The last 3 times ive ordered from this place the food has been terrible I kept trying, hoping that they just had an off day, but no. Their lo mein is bland the noodles are stiff like it wasn't cooked properly, the General tso is extremely soggy, the combo chow fun bland and the noodles are powdery, fried rice tastes like defrosted bland flavorless microwaved brown rice.. Yes brown rice (yuck), the dancing eel roll tastes old, the dynamite roll was filled with imitation crab meat with no salmon.. The American Dream roll was the only thing that tastes good. This place is horrible! Do not order from them. I ordered for delivery and I had been waiting for more than one hour and twenty minutes and my food still never came. I called the restaurant and spoke with manager/owner and he gave me a BS excuse that the sushi guy was busy and they makes the sushi fresh that was the reason why it took too long. He gave me an attitude when I wanted to cancel my order and hang up on me. I called back and he said i wasting his time and the driver time. He said he will canceled the order then hung up again. The driver finally shown up 10 minutes later so the total wait time was about one and a half hours. I told the driver that I already canceled my food but he forced the food to me anyway. I'm so sick of this restaurant and I will not ordered from them again. I was their customer since 2015 and this place just lost my business. We ordered lunch from this place December 21st 2018. My coworker ordered the shrimp Singapore rice noodle, which he said was way too hot, with too many red pepper flakes and ruined the flavor. I love spicy food, but my spicy shrimp fried rice was also way too hot. There were as much red pepper flakes as rice. Also, my shrimp was burned. Who serves burned food?? Another coworker ordered the orange chicken with spring roll, but described it as just all right. Disappointing all around. I called the restaurant to speak to the manager, the manager was unavailable. The person who answered the phone said that they could offer us "something" for free for the next time we ordered. We REGRET eating here and wasting money. Ate here for dinner and chose this place because of good Yelp star ratings. Ordered Shrimp with walnut, Chicken with Garlic Sauce, Chicken Pad Thai and Jimmy Smith roll for dinner. Jimmy Smith roll is okay, nothing special (tastes like buffet sushi). Didn't like the Shrimp with walnut (more like frozen shrimp with a lot of chopped celery). Chicken with Garlic Sauce doesn't seem freshly cooked (cold and hard chicken). The Pad Thai stinks and doesn't taste good at all. Bowl of cold rice were served. I don't recommend this place. Will never come back here again! read more

Stopping for an early dinner, I didn't really know what to expect at Mandarin Court. With so much from which to choose, I asked the waitress for assistance. She said everything was good (no help) but then made some solid suggestions. One suggestion was Happy Family, which I usually like a lot. Today, however, I felt like something on the spicy side. The next suggestion was out of the box, yet right in my target. "We can make anything spicy!" Even Happy Family? "Of course." Wow! I now have eaten HAPPIER FAMILY... it was so fresh tasting, with tender chicken, beef, scallops, shrimp and wonderfully crisp vegetables! Been ordering from here for years. Delivery is so fast that I once barely had time to put on proper clothes to answer the door in. I especially love their Jimmy Smith roll and crispy beef. I happened upon both of them as a regular customer. Sometimes they will throw in a little something extra if you order often enough from them. So they once sent each of these and they are now my go-to. I also would recommend the tempura at least once. They tend to switch between regular potatoes and sweet potatoes when making it (usually sweet) but both are fantastic! It will be a shame if I ever leave the state and have to find something close enough to their recipes. It might take me a lifetime to find something to match up. read more

COMPLETELY DONE with this place! Placed a large order this evening and every dish was awful. We ordered crispy beef, combination egg fo young, shrimp fried rice, chicken lo mein and 2 spring rolls... the crispy beef was so hard, dry and cold that we couldn't eat it. The few pieces I did taste were so chewy and dry that it didn't taste like there was any beef in it. The lo mein had absolutely no flavor and the noodles were thick under cooked tasteless globs of mess! I didn't think egg fo young could be so bad but this was the worst I've ever had...cold and greasy with no flavor at all. My BF ate a few forks full of the shrimp fried rice and threw it away... it didn't have any flavor either... the spring rolls were even cold and nasty! I called and asked them to fix another order of the crispy beef and they agreed but wanted us to come back to pick it up and I told them absolutely NOT... the girl had to ask if they could deliver the new order to me and after being put on hold she finally came back and said they would and actually asked me to send the bad order back LOL... I told her with pleasure! She tried to use the excuse that they were really busy as to why the food was so bad tonight... WHATEVER!! 5 STAR SUSHI - I've read a few of the negative reviews about this restaurant and they all seem to discuss the Chinese food versus the sushi. I only come here for the sushi which is 5 Stars. There sushi is very good and their specialty rolls are very cheap compared to other restaurants. You will not find a better sushi restaurant in the area for the money. As for the other food on the menu, I have tried it and agree it is not the best. Yet again, I do not come here for the other food. I come here for the sushi which is amazing in both taste and value. Stopped off I-95 for a quick bite and came across this gem. Friendly staff, quick service, and delicious food. Fresh veggies. Lunch special came with friend rice and choice of egg roll or soup. This place was a 5star for me but a few things drop it down a notch. This is still the BEST chinese restaurant in Woodbridge however in my opinion (and I've been to many in the area) First, the food is really good. As stated the sushi is pretty good here although they dont have a lot of fancy rolls you see at sushi only spots. The chinese food is excellent. I always get the beef fried rice which is really really good. I LOVE the chicken and corn soup also. I always get it when I'm sick. The staples are good as well i.e your choice of meat with broccoli, sesame chicken, kung pao, etc. I'm not crazy about the tsos however. Its a bit chewy. The main reason that I dropped the star is bc of the inconsistent service. At times its good when I pick up my food, other times like today, the person seems really annoyed. read more

My order of beef and broccoli is ALWAYS ordered with NO SAUCE. I will start by saying this is probably the best "Chinese" food in the area but that's really not saying much. (reason for the two stars, the place really deserves 1 star) The last order I made arrived pretty quickly but one order had a black hair in it, we ordered extra spicy it came with no spice or flavor and the cream cheese wontons were not cooked all of the way.
