The best chinese fried chicken in Boston
Johnny L.

One word to describe my years of experience here - CONSISTENCY. I've recommended this place to so many of my friends. Here's why: Fried chicken - the best chinese style fried chicken in Boston. Period. It's juicy, flavorful, skin is the perfect amount of crispness. Price - For the price it's a great value! $10 for 8 wings! Who can compete with that? And that's their regular price too! Speed - I've timed it multiple times. From the time I walk into the restaurant to the time I leave with a box of chicken takes 1-4 minutes. Have you ever WALKED into a restaurant and had your food hot and ready within a minute? It's unbelievable but it does happen here. Believe it! Parking - street parking may be tough but I typically find a spot on the street before or after the restaurant on Hyde Park Ave. Some people double park because they're in and out before you know it! Seating - no one dines in! Always order to go!

Good food, fast service, cash only though. Kind of annoying, but I get it . Worth the trip anyway. Best chinese food that I've had in A while.

Crab rangoon, fried chicken & fried rice combo for $9.50

I have only ever ordered the Chicken wings and the plantains... A meal that goes back farther than some of my oldest memories... (jk, it wasn't that long ago). Back when I didn't live in Boston, we would drive here often to visit family. I remember in 2010 (I believe. Actually, it was probably years before that) we ordered a huge batch of chicken and plantains, as a late night meal. Those wings... were the best wings I have ever ever had. Something about them was different, and I still can't put my finger on what it is, but I love them. Even now. I don't love the price... $8 for 6 wings, but somehow, I keep occasionally coming back.

My plate as you can see plenty of rice! The chicken was bomb!!

5 Stars for the Usual, but Stick to the Basics…read more Imperial Chinese Food in Roslindale is my go-to spot for a quick and satisfying Chinese food night. Their staple dishes--lo mein, fried rice, crab rangoons, and General Tso's--are always solid and hit the spot when I'm craving takeout. Definitely get the Imperial Fried Rice--it's very yummy and always a favorite! That said, if you're thinking about venturing outside the usual favorites, I'd personally vote against it. A month ago, I decided to try their Salt and Pepper wings, and they were just okay--about a 5/10 for me. Gave them another shot last night, and while they had good flavor, they weren't really Salt and Pepper wings. I'd rate them a 6/10 just for the seasoning alone, but if you're expecting that signature crispy, salty, and peppery punch, you might be disappointed. Overall, Imperial is great for classic takeout, but I'd stick to the usual favorites.
