Delicious dinner! It does get pretty busy- not sure if it was just because of race weekend and everyone carb loading but the line started 35min before opening. Luckily we were seated right away. Service was very friendly and fast. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She helped me modify grilled chicken and gf (rice based) pasta with only olive oil which turned out perfect. My husband loved how juicy and flaky his Mahi was. Tucked into a nice neighborhood, this place was a complete surprise to my wife and I as we were having a drink and overheard someone raving about it. Not being one to pass up a good restaurant, we walked about 25 minutes from our hotel near the southernmost bouy marker to one of the best Italian places I've even been to. My wife's entree - Funghi al pomodori, spinaci, e ceci - was simply one of the top restaurant Italian dishes either of us ever tasted. My wife is vegetarian and this dish was too. Amazing. My spaghettini alla carbonara which I added chicken was also excellent. There's plenty of seafood pasta entrees to choose from as well of course. The pricing was reasonable for this market, and it was nice to be on a patio away from Duval Street where we could have a quiet romantic dinner. The service was excellent, and they were quite helpful with my wife's special request for alterations to her dish. Surprisingly they also reduced the price because the substitution was less expensive! For me the star of the evening was their pasta with pesto and chicken. The chicken was well-prepared and the pesto was probably the best I have tasted -extremely rich and hearty but not in a way that was uncharacteristic of pesto. If we lived here, we would probably dine with them a couple times a month. We were here for 4 days and this was my favorite meal by a significant margin! read more

I've visited Key West several times and this was my first visit to Mangia Mangia. In the past, the wait to get in was too long but this time I arrived as the place first opened at 5:30. I'm glad I didn't have to wait. I feel as if the pasta was overcooked, especially as it is home made daily. The hostess lacks personality and sauce was average. Came across this place by luck. It's a mix of I want to be an old type fancy with a I'm a mom's pizza parlor all in one. Service was great didn't feel rushed, although they did say it does get really busy. The homemade pasta was amazing, everything thing we had was great, including the bottle of wine. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. We were lucky that we got an outside table. It was totally worth the wait! The service was fantastic and the food was excellent. We had dinner outside, pleasant enough but IMO not worth the price vs the portion. Don't get me wrong, my meal was good but felt that the amount for shallow dish was lacking for just pasta. I'm not a big guy but one shouldn't leave hungry from a pasta restaurant. The pesto with pine nuts and walnut was very good and not overly salty at all which can be an issue in some places. It was obviously made on location and not jarred. On the other hand, my wife's carbonara was plentiful served in a deep bowl, and seemed (I didn't taste it) delicious but her take was that our home-made carbonara was better. Her chief observation was that the sauce was bland and that the pasta stuck together. I wanted to try this place because the reviews were good and told of long lines to get in and plentiful plates. A little away from Duval but worth the walk. I got sea scallops with creamy marinara and spinach fettuccine which was good but would have been better if it was hot but I ate it all. Absolutely wonderful dining experience. The best food we had in all of Key West. We loved how it's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but still easy to access from anywhere in Key West. I had the raviolis with "pink sauce"- delicious and my partner, the seafood pasta- also delicious. So, dinner. My wife and I went to Mangia! Mangia! in Key West on a recommendation from from a friend. We always like to "eat where the locals eat" when we travel and this felt like 'the joint'. It's a quaint little place nestled in a neighborhood of quintessential Key West style homes. When you walk in, you immediately feel welcome. The decor is eclectic and a perfect mash of color and comfort. We were drawn to the artwork on the walls and after soaking it all in, we agreed that this is where we would eat all the time if we lived here. Food... we ordered the mussels for a starter. They were fresh and massive! The flavor was incredible. It was ridiculously good. I ordered the Bollito Misto di Mare. Listen... just wait a sec... let me say this. I have travelled every corner of the US and I have eaten pasta (my personal kryptonite) all over. I will say.. this was THE BEST pasta dish I have ever had. The Pesto sauce had so much flavor my wife had to tell me to be quiet because I was just saying "omg this is so good" over and over. If there were more stars than 5 I could give infinity!!! We moved here August 2020 and every time we walked by it was during the day so it was closed. We were finally curious to try it tonight! They are opened for dinner from 5:30pm-10:00pm every day. The menu was fun because we got to create our own pasta dish! I got the fusilli and meat sauce, my fiance got the rigatoni and creamy pesto. When the dishes came the portions were huge which left us with leftover for lunch AND dinner tomorrow. And to mention every dish comes with 2 pieces of toasted garlic bread made in house. Service was amazing; everything came out so fast and the waiters were very attentive to us and their other valued customers. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant too! When you walk in it's a smaller restaurant but when they take you outside it's done up with aesthetic string lights and has scenery painted on the wooden fence. Now that we moved back to NY recently, we still come down here to key west often AND will be back in December. We go to Mangia Mangia every time we are in Key West. Server was unfriendly and very rude. Food was very disappointing. We ordered Fettuccine with red sauce and grilled chicken. Chicken was overcooked, very dry and about the size of 1/2 a dime. Sauce tasted like dried tomato paste with chunks. The pasta was supposed to be fettuccine, but it was more of a tagliatelle pasta. A friend had lobster. It tasted more like a frozen fish that you could get at a wholesale club. Not a great way to spend my milestone birthday. read more
