Came here with my friends and it was crowded! I noticed it's less crowded later in the afternoon, so I suggest going around that time. Place is really cute and there's decorations on the walls to take pictures with if you like. If you want to dine in and there are no tables, you'll have to wait until one opens up until they can take your order, in case it comes out before a table is available. I'm not sure if they have enough people for this yet but I think they should have one designated server to seat people, take orders, food run and bus tables. It took some time until someone came around to take our order. My friend and I ordered a earl grey lavender tea, green tea Mille crepe and a strawberry mango sago. When they brought out our food, they forgot an extra cup we asked for the tea, and a spoon for the mango sago (am i supposed to eat this with a fork?) so I had to flag someone down to get what we needed. The desserts were delicious. I personally don't like anything TOO sweet so it was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. Overall I had a good experience. What can you expect from a place called Mango Mango? Definitely lots of Mango! This place puts the amazing fruit at the center of their theme and it works. Being part of the Asian community, I appreciate enjoying mango without doing the work to eat it. The inside is clean but compact as there are a couple of tables that can get filled up quickly. We were lucky to be seated without a wait and we dove in. The menu is colorful and has pictures of the desserts and offerings. We ordered the classic mango sundae and the matcha Millie crepe and it came out fairly quickly. The mango sundae was absolutely delicious as the mango tasted fresh and the toppings were perfect. The matcha millie crepe was also good but I think the mango crepe would be energy better. Everything turned out great though and the price isn't too bad. I had stumbled upon Mango Mango after searching Yelp for a place to eat some desserts. I follow keto, and don't often indulge in sweets-but we were on vacation and I wanted to relax and just enjoy our time here in Virginia! The pictures of fellow Yelpers alone convinced me that my husband and I needed to visit and give this place a try! I loved that they were open late on Sunday-I often missed out trying new and local places because they closed early during Sundays. Finding it was pretty easy-there are a number of eateries/restaurants in the plaza it's located at (Jollibee is nearby). The inside is not very big, so if you happen to come when it's busy, there's about a 15 minute wait. We were lucky to get the last available table when we got there, but the two parties that came after us had to wait a bit. The decor is very "Instagram-worthy," geared very much to the social media crowd. Our table was right next to the "cute" floral wall. It was as my teens like to say, "vibing." We didn't really know what to order-everything in the menu looked interesting and delicious. We ended up going with our Server's recommendation: Matcha Crepe Roll; the Mango Pancake and one of their hot "soup" Mo Mo Cha Cha. I'd like to say everything was as delicious as it looked. Sadly it fell short of what I expected. The crepe in itself was good-not too sweet that it overpowered the matcha flavor. But the filling is what I found most lacking. It seemed to have been filled mostly whip cream and very little red beans (I mean let's be honest, it was MOSTLY whipped cream). Reading fellow Yelpers' review of the Mango Pancake, my husband and I were expecting it to be as good as everyone raved about. But it was a let down too. The Mango was not ripe-so cutting into it was difficult. It was so hard to cut into that at one point, I had to hold down the pancake my husband was cutting into to ensure that it didn't slide off the plate! I wonder if we would have enjoyed it more had the mango they used was just a little bit more ripe. As it was, it wasn't sweet-in fact it had little to no taste (wasn't even tart!), and because it lacked any flavor, the whip cream was the only thing we could taste. This dessert was a disappointment! Finally we come to the sweet soup. The Mo Mo Cha Cha is a coconut milk based soup, with root vegetables such as taro, sweet potatoes, and sago pearls. If you're Filipino, it's reminiscent of our ginataan-but with a thinner soup base. I did enjoy this soup. It wasn't too sweet, and the root vegetables were cooked the perfect consistency. Now my husband-who's favorite Filipino dessert just happens to be ginataan-was not impressed by this Malaysian dessert version. He said that while the taste was "alright" he felt that it lacked the sweetness of the jackfruit and bananas, and the added texture of the rice flour balls (also known as bilo bilo). I happily finished it-it was nice and warm. But again, I wouldn't order it if I visited this place again. Over all, the food experience was a let down. I came in with the expectation that I would be eating delicious desserts. Majority of the Yelp reviews I read gushed about this place. Instead I felt like we ate "ok" food, definitely not worth the price we paid for. I know I am in the minority, but I felt like this place was more geared towards making sure that the food and drinks looked "camera ready" or "social media worthy," and the taste, quality and consistency came second. I have been to places where food-especially desserts-not only looked good, but tasted delicious. So it is very doable. This unfortunately, was not my experience with Mango Mango. read more

My husband and I love this place, and we were shocked that it was just around the corner from us! It's so nice to go to a dessert place that is set up to serve you like a regular restaurant and the servers are great as well, willing to answer any questions you may have. There are so many options on the menu and the choices they give you make you feel like you left the US with some familiar comforts like crepes and a few of the sundaes they have. My husband usually gets the snow Whit slush with matcha ice cream and red bean which is his all time favorite. Unfortunately, he thought he would try the Dorian flavored ice cream one day and that was a no-go for both of us. Beware it's a very acquired taste and tastes like straight sulfur. I first tried their mango strawberry dish with lychee jelly which was excellent. Then I had their vanilla ice cream sundae with strawberries. Oh and the cocoa crepe cake was divine and perfect for those that want their chocolate fix without the heavy richness of a real chocolate cake. It's multiple stacked crepes in the shape of a cake slice with thin layers of cream in between and covered with powdered cocoa. It's both light and delicious! Uuuhhh I can't wait to get it again. Then recently I finally got to try their banana Nutella crepe which surprisingly came with with a scoop of ice cream yay! A friend that joined us tried the mango Nutella which she said was really good too. So I'm looking forward to trying it as well. Bottom line! 2nd time here and it was a lot better than our first. Love the vibe and the desserts we got were yum. We got the green tea crepe cake, mango sundae and mango shave ice which was massive and great to share. Lots more I want to try when we return. The downside is the durian fruit aroma which both times were present which is the only reason I didn't give it more stars. The first time we visited, the aroma was very strong (too much for my sensitive nose) which made it challenging to enjoy my dessert. Alas, it won't stop me from visiting again and again. This cute little dessert and tea shop is cute for groups and for trying out asian desserts. For many rice balls, red beans, jelly and tapioca ice cream desserts are far from the usual. But the desserts are beautifully created. I came to have a simple slice of mango crepe cake and tea. Thinking it would've been more quieter and not a place people know about since it's a fairly new shop.. to my surprise I was the only person seated and then a whole bunch of groups came in to enjoy the desserts. The mango crepe cake is basically layers of crepes together infused in layers of mango creme filling, mango drizzle and mango slices. It had a light sweetness so it's perfect for those who enjoy a fluffy, good ratio of light sweetness to tartness mango flavored cake. It is far away from cake because you can taste every layer of the crepe. I asp ordered some mango green tea. It's a basic tea bag with green tea but a bare hint of mango. I'm not sure if i don't taste it much because i've paired it with my mango crepe cake. Honestly, this place is nice to have a casual date, group gathering and enjoy the cute ambience, relaxed music and try a variety of assorted mixture of desserts. There is hot and cold desserts. Soup is indeed a dessert ok the menu! I For many people that are asian, and for the filipinos this is something that isn't new. I believe it is a place for other people to get a fresh new experience of asian desserts. Sadly, there was some kid beside me that didn't enjoy the amount of texture they had in their slushie. It was a little aweful to hear him on a constant rant about his order yet couldn't be honest with the waitress about his concern. He told the waitress eventually that he doesn't like his drink and they offered to make him something else. He decided to pay for his slush and not have them remake it. I kept hearing him complain about his banana type of slushie. He was surprised there was real banana and it was more of a smoothie and a slushie..but he didn't understand why there was jelly and weird textures in his choice of slush.. so i guess the selection isn't for everyone. But I'd say, not to knock it if you haven't tried it! Some things are an acquired flavor where if someone comes here and never had lychee or taro.. it won't be good for those who are not comfortable trying something new or who have textural issues perhaps. I haven't tried much of the menu but so far i'm enjoying this place. Its clean, new and based of the amount of people coming in.. this business is doing well. I was very curious to visit this place. The inside is beautiful, it's that kind of place where evrybody wants to take a picture! You enter and then somebody will seat you(kind if unnecessary in my opinion) and then they ll bring you a suuper huge menu. I have been always curious about trying Durian so i have asked the waitress to describe the flavour. It is true, i could have googled it but since there is service for just simple dessert i figuired she would be able to describe it to me, but she wasn't. Tried Mango Mango the other night. Super cute place, and extremely clean!! While my husband and I love that, the extreme smells of bleach overwhelmed us and we couldn't wait to leave. Get the mango sundae! So yummy. The mango Mille cake wasn't my cup of tea, but it was my first time having it. I will be back to try something different next time. Another thing to note, is the deserts are not overly sweet at all. So for you non desert lovers, give this place a try. The mangos in the desserts/ drinks are sweet and the texture of the mango is ripe'd to perfection. I have came back multiple times and had their mango with glutinous rice ball dessert bowl, mango slush, and mango snow white slush. I was very satisfied. The drinks I tried were AMAZING. The mango slush was just the pure refreshing taste of mango and the mango snow white slush is the same drink except with coconut milk, which adds a unique coconut flavor to the drink. Normally I don't write reviews, but this place was not good. This is one of the situations where everything looks better than it tastes. I had the matcha crepe cake, it tasted like old cheddar cheese, then had an aftertaste like it was in the refrigerator for too long. I also had the strawberry drink with the salt cheese on top, it was alright but, honestly wasn't anything special. My friend had the mango ice cream with rice balls she said it was okay but the mangos on top tasted like they came from a can. On a positive note the decor was cute and refreshing also all the food looks EXACTLY like the picture. Something weird was that it was sit down restaurant-style verses you ordering and sitting down. I have been in this place multiple times. I always give this place 5 stars. Today, if I can give it a 0, I would do that however, I cannot post this review if I will not put any stars. We ordered a combo and one of the combo's has a black rice. When I tried the black rice, it tasted stale , a very unpleasant taste ( sour like the old coconut milk). We expressed our concern to the server at the counter and requested another substitute. However, we were told they cannot provide another substitute and "it is what it is." We requested to "not bill us" politely and went back to our seats. Few minutes later, the server gives us a bill and charged us with the price of the whole combo. We went back to the counter and verbalized that it was not just right to bill us for the whole combo knowing that we have already expressed the disgusting taste of the black rice. Again, went back to the seat but there is this other man who came from the kitchen bringing a small bowl with the black rice in it. He was annoyingly forcing us to try to taste the black rice and was repeatedly saying that "that is how the black rice should taste". I thought that was very confrontational and a from of harrassment. I have never been to a place where the employee or maybe the owner argues with the customer, needless to say , harass the customer. A very embarassing moment for me and my family . I would probably not go back there for a while or maybe not come back at all. If I do, I will keep you updated with another review. I've been to the NY location so I was really excited when I heard it was coming down here. If you really like mango flavor or dessert in general I'd definitely suggest it. I've had the mango pancake, cake, and mochi. All three were really good. You could definitely taste the mango throughout all of them.
