My husband and I went here for lunch. We were seated on the patio and shortly after we ordered, it started pouring rain. We were under the umbrella but the rain was still seeping through, getting us wet. Our server noticed this and offered to move us inside which we accepted. Within a few minutes, the manager came up to us and said he had to move us back outside with no explanation as to why except he had an event. We explained that we wanted to remain inside and that we were getting wet from the rain and he disregarding us and proceeded to tell us to grab our drinks, silverware, etc and placed us back outside without providing us with another option. This manager had ZERO care or concern for the comfort of his guests. The food was mediocre at best and for 2 people (2 entrees & 2 beers), it was over $75 for lunch. If I could rate this restaurant negative stars I would. Horrible service! read more

Pineapple salad was tasty but a bit misleading in the menu. Didn't know it was primarily a rice dish and not a salad. The Cuban sandwich wasn't great and I'm wishing I had taken the suggestion of the waiter foe the lobster roll or the fish tacos. Service was a bit lacking on attention. Great service. Great food. Lobster Mac and cheese was amazing, as were the short ribs. Ordered creme brûlée at the servers suggestion (not my normal) and it was SO GOOD. At 2 pm the host was clearly trying to direct us to the bar for lunch which wasn't where we wanted to be for a relaxing lunch. Drag Show Brunch - Show is on point! Those ladies worked and sweated their asses off! Service definitely lacking. We had a decent sized group, 5 (half) with unlimited mimosas - waiter never checked back or refilled drinks. We had to ask other wait staff for refills and then were only brought straight juice. Had to go up to packed bar myself for the champagne to add! Got one Of the worst, sunfilled, sweltering tables with no shade that we were so miserable- most of us left before the show ended. My husband and I stopped here for some appetizers and beer while walking along Duval Street. What a treat! We had the chorizo empanadas and pork belly atop a kimchee/pineapple slaw. The empanadas came with a black bean and corn salsa that was mouthwatering. The flavor combinations were wonderful with a colorful presentation. The beer was cold and the service was quick and so polite. We sat by the bar at a high top where we could see the patio with a massive tree - beautiful. We stumbled upon Mangoes and decided to get a table based on the food options we saw on the menu displayed in front of the restaurant. We were seated right away. The host asked the couple in front of us to pull the mask up over their nose. They did not follow his directions very well and he did not give up until the masks were above the nose. We thought it was funny, but definitely not a laughing matter. He did the right thing. :) The food was delicious, the Conch Fritters were one of the best we've ever had. The Lobster Mac was equally delicious. For entrees we opted for the Loaded Caribbean Pineapple, which could have had a bit more seasoning and the Blackened Shrimp with Cajun Cream Sauce which dish will make me go back to Key West for. So good!!! The service started a bit rocky, we didn't get side dishes and silverware when the apps were delivered. After this little hiccup, the server was on point. As others have said, Mangoes does have a nice spot on Duval St that makes it great for people watching. We stopped in for a late dinner (~9pm) and were able to get a table right next to the sidewalk, which we liked very much. We order a couple of glass of the Sauvignon Blanc they had on the regular menu, but the waiter pointed out there was a special on another SB that we went with for a slight upcharge. Nothing special - guess they were trying to unload the overstock at the end of the high season. Looking to have a light meal we ordered the tuna and crab stack, which is impressively presented with a base of shredded crab and hunks of tuna on top. Unfortunately, it tastes like the crab came prepackaged, the tuna was better - sushi grade stuff. We also ordered the Island Seafood that came with shrimp and scallops on a bed of rice and veges. It was pretty good with the lime cilantro sauce that covered it, but the scallops seemed a little gummy. Overall service was good and checked on us a couple of times throughout the night, but entire experience didn't leave me with much of an impression. Perhaps I would come back and try something else off of the extensive menu. read more

I thought the menu looked interesting and they have a good location on Duval Street so we decided to give it a try for dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the service friendly, but the food left a lot to be desired. The conch chowder was absolutely the worst I have ever had,. It was so bad I had to leave over most of it. The soup was thick like someone opened a jar of spaghetti sauce. The shrimp cocktail was good and fresh but the cocktail sauce had no horseradish in it which made it into some kind of weird mystery sauce that did not complement the shrimp. We also had the steak which was good but seasoned with some kind of an unidentifiable weird seasoning which will remain a mystery. Broccolini was undercooked and almost raw, and the fingerling potatoes were chopped up in the little squares, which was a bit odd. The check was a lot more expensive than I expected and I'm pretty sure they added a credit card fee. The entire restaurant was empty except for our party and two other tables which is never a good sign. In my opinion this establishment is for the tourists. Normally I would have dined elsewhere, but it was a stormy evening and this was convenient. Nothing we ate was great. Not recommended. read more

We had our Welcome Party prior to our wedding in early April 2024 at Mangoes and we could not recommend them more! From the moment we began our inquiry to our event day, Carrie, the Events Manager, was fantastic. She was helpful, informative, and very nice. So many great ways to custom and meet the needs of your party. Food was great. Location was great (right on Duval), and the atmosphere is dreamy. Carrie accommodated us mailing boxes down in advance of decor and has everything out for us ready to go. We could not recommend this place enough! Thank you! PS. Mangoes After waiting 25 minutes to have someone take our drink order a passing waitress was informed that she was our waitress obviously embarrassed she hustled and our hopes where restored...until the food came. Appetizers of way overcooked muscled in what appeared to be chicken stock and calamari with an unidentifiable crust and a sauce of an opened can of tomato paste. Overcooking was the theme of the night. Jerk chicken was dry (overcooked) rice was dry (overcooked) but at least the broccoli WS cold. I went to mangoes because I had a coupon from my day trip outing for a free key lime pie slice. I got the mixed plate which consisted of scallops and shrimp in a light pesto like sauce, served with rice and steamed veggies. All items were good but unremarkable, other than the fact that it was clearly the most healthy meal of my trip. Also, the key lime pie was a downer - way too sweet and missing any key lime flavor. We tread lightly when trying these restaurants as I know they're in high tourist areas but that's not an excuse. We got seated and waited for anyone to acknowledge us. After 10 minutes of not even a water, we decided to leave. The place want even busy. There were a couple other tables next to us getting exceptional attentive service however. They could have at least looked in our direction and said something like "welcome, give me a few moments and I'll come take care of you". Came here with my family to eat lunch and will never go back due to the horrible customer service. This place literally had all of 10 people in the entire restaurant. The hostess Maximo tried to seat us in the very back at an ant infested table. After we requested to sit in the front due to the state of table and also because we wanted to see the view of the street, the manager Carlos told us we could not sit in the front and that "big parties" had to sit in the back. We then asked if we could break up the party and sit at different tables, he said no. Was not accommodating at all. Once we said we were leaving he shrugged us off nonchalantly. Great service. We sat inside with some nice AC for this hot day. Ordered mahi sandwich, fish tacos and a lobster roll. Fish sandwich had a nice piece of fish on it. Delish. Went there today for lunch, an let me explain why I have to get this off my chest. I ordered the arugula, romaine Caesar salad. The staff brought our food out a left. Looking at the salad, there was no arugula on it, just romaine lettuce. No biggie, anywhere I go I always get a Caesar salad, so I decided to overlook it a just eat it. I added shrimp to it. I got 5 small shrimp, not realizing that was 15.00 additional. But anyway. The waitress finally came over, wish I would have gotten her name, an asked if everything is ok. I told her that the menu said arugula, romaine and all I got was romaine. She said let me go check with the kitchen. Well she never came back till it was time to bring the check. At this point I didn't care about missing arugula. The bill was x amount of dollars and 58 cent. Got 100 out an had 57 cents. When she came over we told her we only had 57 cents, do you have a penny?. She blantly said no. I just thought to myself, really 1 penny? By then I decided to bring up about checking on the arugula, she told me the kitchen said they put it on, when I proceeded to tell her there was only romaine, that's when she started to get really snippy with me and said well you were eating it. Yes I was gonna eat it, I'm paying for it. But you never came back n told me that. Then she had the nerve to say, I didn't know you were pissed about it. I would have done something about it. Well she never came back an gave me the option.,Well I wasn't until the attitude started. When she brought the change from the bill over and ended up rounding it to the next dollar, an never did get the change from the bill. We got up an started to leave when the other waitress started to ask her what's wrong. She said something about being pissed off about the salad, I had to explain again about it an that's when she decided to say that she'll take it off the bill an comp it. I just raised my hand and said don't worry about it. It wasn't about the salad, I overlooked that. But 1 penny an the attitude when we asked if she had a penny to make it easier to round it off.
