The food in this place was AMAZING. When you walk in, it looks like just a little pub. It's small with BIG taste. The bartender/waitress was attentive even though it was just her up front. She warned us the food would come out slowly as it was just one cook but it came out one after the other. All of the food was delicious.

The coolest thing about this place was that we used the trail from Vail Pass to snowmobile ourselves to it. The place is a a really cool bar/restaurant with amazing tasting food. They have a space upstairs but we sat downstairs due to their only being one attendant taking care of people. Our waitress/bartender was fast, friendly and gave great suggestions. Restrooms were clean, food was served hot and prices were not crazy bad. They have a Yelp check in discount of 10% as well! Definitely going to try to visit on our next visit.

I loved this place - great atmosphere, friendly staff in spite of being an incredibly busy Friday night. I had the fish taco (lived up to the reputation from previous posts) and fries - deep fried perfectly! Can't wait to come here again when overnighting for next 14er ascent!

What an amazing chicken sandwich and homemade chip!!!

We stop in Red Cliff,CO for the night and found this amazing restaurant!!! Both the food and the service was awesome!!

Super yummy food and great service !! Food came out quick and was delicious. Pulled pork was juicy, nachos were cheesy and burger was meaty. Perfect pit stop between sledding!

We have been coming to Mango's Mountain Grill in Red Cliff since we stayed in a B&B in Minturn more than a decade ago. Our B&B host said Mango's had the best fish tacos anywhere, and she was right! Since then, we have moved to Leadville, about 45 minutes away, and visit Mango's when hiking or biking in the area or just traveling through. We have probably been there a dozen times. We love their selection of beer (and hard cider!) on tap. The fish tacos are still a favorite. You order by the taco, so you can have one or ten. I am a pescatarian, so in addition to the fish tacos, I have tried the grilled stuffed avocado (with black beans and corn), the homemade black bean burgers, the Impossible burgers, and all of the fries--spiral ("Sidewinder") fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The onion rings are the best and my favorite splurge anywhere! I have also enjoyed the occasional fish or veggie special. My omnivore husband loves the burgers and the other meat-based dishes. Service has always been friendly and the atmosphere deliciously relaxing. A great feature is that dogs are welcome on the outside patio and the roof seating (which is not always open). If we are hiking with our dogs, we can all go to Mango's! That is fitting, because Mango's was named for the owner's dog.

Found this remote gem after an afternoon of hiking the Mt. Holy Cross wilderness trail.. great tasty food and service from Chuck and Ms. Sydney on the rooftop patio! Tried the 13 mile rugged backroad via Shrine Pass to connect to I-70.. definitely need a vehicle in great condition and clearance. Took about an hour and many places could not drive faster than 5mph! Scenery gorgeous and very very remote.

The elk chili was great! Grilled cheese was ok. A nice little escape from the cold on a trip to Denver. Glad to have found it but likely would not be a repeat customer.

Dollar bills hang from the ceiling. Ha!

We gladly drive out of our way just to eat here! The food is really that good! I had the burger (cooked to perfection) and one the best I've ever eaten. My Hubs had the Rueben. Yumm!!!!!! Great Margaritas, mountain atmosphere, super friendly, happy people. And the drive south from I-70 on 24 is gorgeous! Google Mangos to find it. Easy to miss the turn right before the breathtaking bridge. Worth the trip!

When we arrived, there was a medical situation with a guest, and an ambulance came to assist. Obviously, that takes priority, and we were patient and understanding. However, after the situation cleared, we continued waiting another 20 minutes. During that time, several groups who arrived after us were seated first. When I politely asked the host about our status, I was told those groups were seated because they were smaller parties. That didn't appear to be accurate, and when I mentioned that, the response quickly became rude and dismissive. At that point, we decided there was no reason to stay and left for dinner elsewhere. The next day, we ate at Tin Plate Pizza--fantastic food and excellent service. Ironically, while walking past Bird and Cow afterward, we noticed their kitchen area through an open back door, and it did not appear clean or well-kept. In hindsight, we're glad things worked out the way they did--but overall, this was a frustrating experience driven by inaccurate wait times and poor customer service.

They weren't too familiar with the breakfast at the places we mentioned, but one person immediately said, "There's The Little Diner right down the street. It's very good and has even been featured on the Food Network." We decided to give it a try, and we are very glad we did. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning and sat at the counter. At the time we were the only customers there. A very nice lady brought us water and got me a coffee while we looked over the menu. It actually took us a while to decide because there were so many great sounding options. As we sat there deciding, more and more people started coming in. My wife ordered the sausage gravy over a biscuit with eggs and cheese grits, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The flavors matched the presentation too. My wife said the sausage gravy was outstanding, and my Eggs Benedict was excellent as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were very good, and the hollandaise sauce had great flavor. While sitting at the counter, we spent some time talking with our server. She told us she had been there since shortly after the diner first opened. Unfortunately, she also explained that the building is scheduled to be demolished so condos can be built above the property, and they are unsure whether the diner will be able to return afterward. It's honestly sad to hear about a place this good possibly being pushed out because of rising development and rental costs. I understand building owners want to maximize profits, but it's disappointing when small local businesses that people truly enjoy are forced out by higher rents and redevelopment. Places like this are what give towns character. Overall, this place was excellent. Great food, friendly people, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find while traveling.

You need to find the Lionhead Village parking garage & walk through the shops to get to the building. The signage does not make it easy to find on the upper level. But, we had read that it was a "great breakfast spot" so we took the time to find the pkg garage & walk to the Diner. Having bartended in a previous life, we both feel most comfortable dining at a bar... so we settled in at the bar and patiently waited to be greeted. The server was very involved with another customer, showing them photos (on her phone) and then, while they continued conversing, she brought us waters. While dropping the waters, she asked us "what can I get you to drink?" and without our ready answer, abruptly turned back to the other couple and continued their visit... completely forgetting, I am guessing, that she had even asked us a question. After another 3 minutes of wrapping up their visit, she finally returned, as if she had not left us hanging....and hungry. No "I'm sorry" or "my apologies for the delay", just a question of "what was it you wanted?" Hubby replied that we would like the "fresh squeezed orange juice" and asked if it was squeezed in house. "No, I just work here, I don't squeeze it" and that was how our morning dining experience nearly ended. The VERY FIRST ITEM on your menu touts "fresh squeezed" and it is not the truth???? What else isnt' the truth? Are those "made from scratch" biscuits made in someone else's factory? Anything else need a disclaimer? Having been on the road a bit & being very hungry, and also having decided that this was a diner that we wanted to experience (after a lot of research the night before), we did order. Hubby's breakfast sandwich scored a 7 out of 10 for him, my over medium egg and bacon would have been a delicious 10 had they been a little more up to temp than "barely warm" (they sat under the warming light for over 5 minutes). We were sitting right where we saw our food prepared, in the lovely open kitchen, so we made note of the time lapsed between my plate going to the expo station & his breakfast sandwich being plated. So, food wise...we give this diner a 7. Service wise.... a 1. She never looked our way again after taking our order. I had to literally call out "excuse me, ma'am...could I please get a refill on my coffee?" Our waters were never refilled. She spent her time "working her regulars" and missed out on a potential regular (as we pass by Vail a LOT) and also missed out on 2 very generous tippers. (Having both been in the service industry, we start out at 20% when we sit down and it typically goes up from there. Last night's server was wonderful and he was rewarded for the outstanding service.) This morning's service was abominable and her tip was definitely not 20%. I must say that the cooks' areas were very tidy and clean. I was highly impressed with their stations and give them kudos for that and the perfect preparation of my egg. The diner is so cute, I really wanted to love it. I left very sad that our experience was not a positive one. Last thing...there are placards that ask that patrons help them survive by giving to their Go Fund Me or Venmo account. um......
